@no name, thanks for such an informative post, it's greatly appreciated.
You mentioned that you didn't think police would share with the families what they found at the Madora Bay property. Is that standard police procedure? I'd have guessed they were in close contact with the families of the deceased, and would have let them know if they'd found nothing, or found something significant (without, perhaps, sharing actual details).
You mentioned you think something may have gone wrong with the attack on CG. From what I've understood through reading about CG, she'd likely have fought very hard.
WRT to the unfortunate report in an Irish newspaper of victims throats being cut, do you give these reports much credibility? It might be simply a matter of those papers not feeling the same need to cooperate with police requests as local media?
Whilst not a local, I agree with your assertion that it wouldn't take a Rhodes Scholar to abduct someone from a poorly lit & somewhat secluded location. It's easy to think of Ted Bundy and the fairly innocuous ruses he used to lure victims.
Finally, I think it's fairly significant that he was (from what I gather) from a lower socioeconomic area and chose an area and victims who represented something very different. My guess is that he had a massive chip on his shoulder, which tragically met with a psychosexual disfunction, or whatever you'd like to call it.
Hi Sherlock, as I said at the start of my post I was responding to numerous other posts made over the past 28 odd pages. I jotted a few words down as I read through when questions were posed or comments were made where the poster had queried if details they mentioned were accurate or said I think, Im not sure etc. By the end, those that hadnt already been cleared up or answered, I commented on. So while it may have appeared as a disjointed long array of previously posted information to some, it've made perfect sense to anyone reading the thread in one hit & presumably cleared up some things for others too. That was the intent anyway.
The family I was speaking of was BRE's, not the victims. It was in response to a comment made which referred to a much earlier post by a verified insider who stated that the police had not indicated to BRE's family that they found anything of interest when they searched the Madora Bay property. I was suggesting that didn't necessarily indicate nothing was found as I doubt they would've have told them anything regardless. If the police prematurely revealed any potential evidence to the family of an accused person whom they were trying to build a case against, that would be odd, yes.
Re: CG. I too have read the many assertions that she would probably have put up a good fight, seemingly because she was a few years older and perhaps a little more aware & she'd been travelling OS for sometime by herself, perhaps more confident... Whatever difference any of that makes?? Personally, I dont think any of that can be relied upon to determine how she would have reacted at all, particularly as we have no idea how she was subdued or when. Perhaps she fought like buggery, perhaps she wasnt given the opportunity, perhaps she froze, who knows. I'd prefer to think they all fought for their lives given the chance.
The reported 'middle finger' given to the guys at the bus stop (to which I assume you were referring DRT) was also refuted here by one of them, another verified insider.
No - Its the clothes that get me the most. Something went awry, not to plan, amiss - it may not have been anything tangible, perhaps it was all in his head or call it a gut feeling if you like... But, there was something very different about her IMO.
Re: Irish press. In general, Im overly skeptical of anything I hear in the press at any time. But, theres been several OS articles from GB beginning as early as 04Apr97 that detail direct quotes from family friends and other very specific personal info about the family, that I question they may be credible. It also appears that the Irish publications tend to quite sympathetic towards 'their own' too, so the idea that they would then fill in the gaps with such horrific inaccurate details doesnt really gel with me either. The fact that Australian publications have not repeated the details doesnt speak to the truth one way or another IMO. I guess we'll find out in time though.
Ive no idea what deficiencies he might have, where they originated, or what part of his anatomy they reside. You have to be very sick & twisted to abduct & murder but thats about as much attention Im prepared to give it seeing we dont know. He may just be your plain old run of the mill psychopath that we probably encounter every day, who decided he goes that far.
