DR ****** was a little before my time here. But I read a little about him and some posters has said he pass away. The posters are from Bigfooty days chat .this is to the best of my knowledge

Dr ****** wasn’t an actual doctor, that was just his handle in the comments to the Gary Hughes article.

I don’t recall hearing that he’d passed away, but I don’t know for sure either way.

Dr ******was named after a horror film staring Vincent Price in the 1970s imo
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Abominable_Dr._******

and he and therefore Parkie, assuming Parkie is Dr ******, was cleared by WAPOL

Another early poster real name Noel Coward has passed way. He was positive that “Taxi Tony” was the CSK, even went to Macro with his theories I believe.

You are totally correct - all this is - is chit chat and hypotheticals and opinions. I'm glad the WAPOL have had Gags on talking. If CGE has any interest in the Acton St property - I hope she has put a Caveat on the property. Or, she might end up with nothing. I also wonder if the property is being rented out. I know nothing - all JMO.

CGE wont end up with nothing she was in a defacto relationship living at the property for so many years.....

Was wondering if anyone here had a copy of, or knows where to find the Tiger Moth video? I didn't get a copy of it downloaded when it was on YouTube. Very interested in viewing that again.

did you see the post with link to Tigermoth video????

When was the cctv film released ?

Were the 3 young men on cctv
do we know if they come forward to the police themselves with their info
was there corroboration from others on the street that they were actually there.

It made me wonder what would a person take in, late in the evening after having a few drinks, absorbed in your own conversation.

I am also wondering if the 'items' that Paul Ferguson said were found at the JR site had finally given up the info that caused the SS charge.

If it was someone she met earlier in the night, wouldn’t the Police have ascertained that by interviewing J’s friends?

JRs reaction to MM has had me stumped since I first saw the video 10 years ago....
There was some familiarity there...either he joked with her along the lines of “Hey baby, how much for the night? Ha ha” or their paths had crossed before...somewhere somehow...but where and how?

You can go up to buy drinks at the bar and simply be charmed by the person next to you without exchanging names or details. Was such a short pleasant but exciting exchange that it wasn't worth mentioning to friends but you decide to hang around a bit just in case you get to bump into that person again. And you might think you've got a better chance to give this person you're whole attention if you're not with friends. I think at least a part of her just hoped she might run into him again and voila! - he just happens to show. Think its his MO. Brief flirtatious encounter so the girls "know" him without knowing him and he can entice them that way. He could even chat to their friends at the bar and when stopping in the road in his car he could just say "Hi, was talking to your friend so and so at the bar. Do you want a lift?".
Something along those lines anyway.

With regards to JR's friends knowing about her meeting him earlier in the night, maybe not. IF she stayed back to meet someone specific, she kept that from them, too. I've done it - been out with friends when I was younger and been worried they will judge me so I've kept it from them. Many places she could have encountered him separate to them - the OBH is quite a big place from memory. But that's just a theory.

Yeah, the MM reaction is an interesting one. It's not clear the degree to which she knew them. But I don't think it's just someone random coming along and sharing a joke. The reaction is too comfortable and genuine. JMO

Paths could have crossed any number of places. A really charming guy could have had a couple of chats with her that seemed completely innocuous at the time, but were enough that when he walked past she recalled him and was pleased to see him. Might never have mentioned them to anyone. Could have happened anywhere (supermarket, coffee shop, carpark).

One thing I think about the CSK is that they'd be good at reading people. So if JR was lonely and wanted to meet someone, as one of her friends said in the CIA documentary, I think he would have easily spotted that and manipulated it.

Oops! Posted my last post without reading yours first. I've basically repeated what you've said here. I agree. Very subtle, but luring approach by CSK raising hopes but not worth a mention to friends just in case she's being "silly" thinking he's interested.

thanks for that DRT. Interesting. I don't really know enough details to comment. Like the Amphitheatre area though (and there 's water there).
Couple of nit picky things I noticed. That b & w photo of man with arm outstretched - his watch is on left arm; he has the dark hair and white shirt of the man in the CCTV clips (both photo and cctv in b & w though so who knows what colour really).
Also, aren't you a DR? DR-T? [emoji848]

All good [emoji4]. It's hard to keep track of it all on here.

I actually think you made an interesting and slightly different point - that she may have hung around in the hope of seeing him again. I can see that possibility, if MM was charming enough.

When the Claremont killings were happening, I was a few years younger than SS and I remember thinking, "Why would you not stick with your friends or go somewhere in the dark on your own?" Because it had been drummed into me since I was very young not to do that. Then I was a young adult and I did all that myself, and I wasn't afraid to do it.

I've been out and met guys like that - ones who can charm the pants off you and get you hooked in moments. It can, as you said, be a 2 minute conversation at the bar when you're getting a drink.

Hey baby , how much for the night , ha ha ... Where on earth does this come from ... How do you even imagine someone saying this .... Why would anyone imagine what is being said anyway , along with imaginary scenarios of previous encounters .... It's imaginary , it means nothing

Yep. And in the cctv footage she's almost over reacting when he approaches her - ensuring he knows she's rapt to see him.

YES. There was something about her reaction that was bugging me a bit and it's that - the almost overreacting as though it's a bit of a display for his benefit. Genuinely happy to see him, but OTT.

I think that's a part of sleuthing. Someone comes up with an idea about what might have happened, someone else adds to it, and over time a picture is potentially painted.

I also see another reason. When possible lures are identified, it can forewarn others to be wary of similar behaviours. I wish I'd heard about some of people's experiences when I was younger, might have helped to avoid a few not so pleasant situations!

I've had guys make that joke to me ("how much for the night"). Although my reaction was nothing like what we saw from JR on the CCTV.

Last thoughts on the "why didn't she tell her friends", but there's also a possibility that she's scared he'll "go" for one of them and not her.

I've never felt sure that MM is CSK, but every time I recall that everyone in the video has been identified or come forward except for MM, it does makes you wonder. As has been speculated before, unless MM was from interstate / overseas, died etc., why would he have not come forward? The very fact that anyone would have been in the area on the night should have been enough to pique their interest on the investigation, or at least talking about it with family / friends which it felt like just about everyone in Perth did especially at the time.

It is a grainy pictures in which people cannot be recognized , if it it was not pointed out who the people where nobody would know , over 20 years later no one knows who the guy is so how can anyone claim to know what he is saying , thinking , or his motives .... As to what JR reaction was , her reaction to what ... Someone's imaginary conversation .... Her action may imply that nothing like Hey Baby how much was said at all .... But as always here , everything gets warped to fit someone's theory .... Theories that solved nothing for 20 years, carry on

We don't claim to "know" we're simply surmising. Isn't this the point of the thread? Detectives run through scenarios too to try and get possibilities, it's just they then have to fit facts.

Hi Frequant
Absolutely imaginary on my behalf. I was just trying to think of what (supposedly) witty comment you could say to a young girl standing alongside a pole. Can you think of what he could have said to get that quick laughter response? Perhaps a "You again? Are you stalking me or something?"...but it was seemingly only a 3 second interlude....

When was the cctv film released ?

Not sure when the footage was released. Not surprised with the amount of threads. Its impossible to read them all. I have got through a few.
