I'm really interested to find out what the one item from CG's body that was initially overlooked by WAPOL, but was later tested leading to DNA discovery!

Considering CG was found fully clothed, I wonder if this item was a button or something like a box-chain necklace that could contain DNA traces that couldn't be wiped away and cleaned up by the alleged perpetrator.

I always felt they always had DNA from CG's body. I always felt there was something written between the lines on MSM. I would like to think that scratching her killer (be it the alleged or other) and getting a good chunk of skin. JMO.

I'm trying to find the MSM link about the LCN DNA from CG.
Plus the link that states CG wasn't raped.
Anyone got those two links handy please?

I have never seen anything in MSM to say she wasn't raped, just that she was fully clothed.

Why would they be collecting DNA if there was nothing to compare it against? Maybe it was that CG's body had been found closer to the time of death than JR.

http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/f...ss-as-serial-killer-still-roams-free-1.149685

The following indicates the DNA samples were first taken of taxi drivers Easter 1997. CG went missing 14 March 1997 and was found on 4 April 1997. Easter weekend was 28 March to 31 March in 1997.

there is a strong clothing theme in relation to the CSK:

Kimono (1988)
"stolen off a washing line 28 years ago
... the white kimono was dropped by an intruder who broke into the home of an 18-year-old Huntingdale woman and tried to rape her.
Her screams caused him to flee and police believe the stolen kimono was accidentally dropped by the man as he ran out of the home.

DNA found on a silk dressing gown dropped near the scene of the 1988 incident allegedly matched DNA recovered from the body of Ms Glennon and the Karrakatta rape victim.
http://www.news.com.au/national/cla...t/news-story/cdad7c5a6b825958b6d46cb11eb44c75

Items taken from JR and CG:
"Several items belonging to Ms Rimmer and Ms Glennon were never recovered with their bodies and it is understood police are searching for those items"

https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/silk...ved-to-have-provided-vital-clue-ng-b88337818z

Items found with JR
"Inspector Ferguson said there had been several items of clothing and a pair of shoes found ... did not appear to belong to Ms Rimmer .. other items were also found at the scene".

(article posted last night)

Clothing items taken from KK victim
Left without any clothing at KK including shoes.

Is it possible that the clothes left at JR site belonged to the KK victim?

"Police claim the DNA samples came back as a match to samples already on the police database — samples that had been recovered from the body of the third Claremont victim, Ciara Glennon, and from a 17-year-old woman who was grabbed in a Claremont street in 1995 and then assaulted at the nearby Karrakatta cemetery."

Found the link re the overlooked item being tested for DNA in the UK.

"A critical item from her body was overlooked" - indicates to me the item is something they initially thought would not produce a DNA sample, OR they could not test this item for DNA back in 1997.

Another MSM source (that I will find) states they used LCN (low copy number) process of DNA sampling which usually produces a partial sample. LCN DNA is sometimes referred to as 'touch DNA' as labs can now pull a partial DNA sample from fingerprints (for example) by testing tiny skin cells that are left behind by touching another surface.

Maybe the accused left behind some minute skin cells on some item take from CG's body.

I don't think BRE has been charged with rape re CG - if not charged with rape, then this did not occur - will need to check.

"Police refused to confirm she (CG) had been raped and did not say how and when she died. "

Maybe I have misconstrued police refusing to confirm that CG had been raped to actually meaning CG had NOT been raped. Wishful thinking on my behalf perhaps.

Also this same article from The Mirror (UK) also states CG was found with her clothes stripped off, while many other MSM reports (like the link below) say that CG was found fully clothed. Therefore we can't be sure that the information contained in the UK article is accurate as it contradicts local newspaper reports on CG being fully clothed.

Perhaps it was a little belly-button ring or anklet.

BRE 8 charges:

"He faces two charges of wilful murder in 1996 and 1997 against Claremont victims Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon.
The six other charges against Mr Edwards relate to the 1995 abduction and sexual assault of a 17-year-old at a cemetery near Claremont and the 1988 indecent assault of a woman, 18."

The Irishtimes advises “partially” clothed body ….

Ciara Glennon's story hangs heavily in the air-conditioned room. You want to ask this strong, silent Irishman how life has been over the last two years since his daughter went missing; to describe the torment they endured when her partially clothed body was found under some scrub by a passer-by three weeks later. How he and his family have coped when the man who police are 99.9 per cent sure perpetrated this atrocity is living a short drive away from their home.

Good point Spinnaker.
Thanks for reminding me as this is also why I thought CG wasn't raped.

I didn't assume the murder victims were raped.
IMO he moved from violent rape to sadistic killing.

IMO (hopefully) local newspapers would report the crimes more accurately than overseas newspapers.

No I don't think so CV - it's just the fact that CG was clothed or partially clothed so does throw doubt in circumstances.

Sadly it is possible that both girls were also sexually violated, however perhaps difficult to assess due to decomposition - I do not have enough knowledge in relation to this.

This case is so complex I sometimes think I need one of those HUGE pin-up boards covered in photos and post-it notes like seen on crimes shows, where you can have all the vital info directly in front of you. [emoji368][emoji859]🏼

But then any guests to my house might think I'm a bit strange and send me off to one of those hospitals where the nurses wear blue overalls and goggles!!

Or fully clothed?

I think fully clothed, that's what Australian newspapers advise. That's fully clothed but damaged clothing.
JMO.
