BBM - No. Tragic accident and the grief must be unbearable.

While investigators keep an open mind, Superintendent Bob Noble on Thursday warned against "unhelpful" conjecture of foul play.


"I'm as comfortable as I can be that it's been a tragic accident ... that in many other instances probably wouldn't have resulted in such catastrophic outcomes," he told reporters in Wagga Wagga.

Police investigating 44yo disappearance of Melbourne mother dig up former backyard

Police investigating a 44-year-old cold case have begun digging up the backyard of a home in Melbourne's west.

Veronica Catherine Green, who would now be 82, has been missing for more than 40 years.

She was 38 when she disappeared, leaving behind two children aged seven and 14.
