GUILTY Australia - Daniel Morcombe, 13, Woombye, QLD, 7 Dec 2003 - #2

Oh wow, I just watched it too. I want to give her a big big hug. I hope her husband now makes her feel valued and loved and worth everything good life has to give. That mistake of a human saw her vulnerabilities and he used right up when she should have been protected and built up by someone who loved her.

He will hopefully live the rest of his life with only those more powerful than him around him, and he will lick their boots because he's the epitome of cowardly. I hope he feels small and like dirt forever.

Sarah, if you ever read this, I hope your life is never again touched by even mundane mishaps xx You are obviously a good person with a lot to give. You were a champ for Daniel. You are looking after yourself well. Good on you.

I certainly hope this becomes a nationwide reality in the very near future. It is so very long overdue!

Queensland may introduce sex offender registry based on controversial WA model

March 17, 2014

SEX offender register could be on the cards for Queensland in the wake of the Daniel Morcombe tragedy, with the government monitoring how the West Australian model is working.

Ministers filing into the Executive Building Monday morning ahead of the day’s Cabinet meeting said the public sex offender scheme in WA was being assessed to see if it was worth bringing in here.

Transport Minister Scott Emerson said he believed if there was cause to establish such a register it should be a national register.

THE mum of a young girl allegedly abused by Brett Cowan before he murdered Daniel Morcombe claimed she called Lifeline for help but was discouraged from reporting the incident and even told not to talk to her daughter about it again

The Courier-Mail can reveal the distraught mother phoned the crisis support service in late 2000 after her three-year-old daughter revealed Cowan had molested her while the family was staying at Cowan’s Sunshine Coast home.

Just to clarify - the Lifeline counsellor referred the mother on to a 'child expert', independent of Lifeline:

The woman claims she contacted Lifeline who put her in touch with a child expert.

She says she was advised that the lack of physical evidence and her daughter’s young age would make reporting the incident a fruitless exercise.

The expert allegedly told her it was better not to raise the issue again, saying it would only cause further stress and potentially traumatise the girl.

I was going to say, that goes against all of Lifeline's training! I did it myself and we were trained to be non-prescriptive in any way.

Unfortunately I have discovered that an alarming amount of people involved in the child welfare sector carry many of their own unresolved issues with them......and it colours their advice. JMO

What that "child expert" advised is appalling!!!:tantrum:

I'm absolutely shocked they don't have one already this needs to be done as a matter of urgency. I also hope one day all sex offenders have to wear a tag and are under house arrest if they are to be released.

I just keep thinking the monster will be out in 20 years to potentially abuse and murder another child and it makes me sick and angry.

It's horrifying how many people are coming out about their terrifying ordeals with Cowan. I cannot imagine what these people must have felt for all these years. He really is a coward, in that he preys PRIMARILY on people he perceives to be weaker than him (children, an insecure, naive teenage girl). When he interacts with adults, his demeanour is generally quite soft. Cowardly, cowardly man. I don't think that its any coincidence that the letters of his name can be replaced easily to spell "Coward".

Like I've said, I'd like his psychological assessment/profile to be released. I wonder how extensive it would be? We need insight into his sadistic mind and everyone should be able to access it. I believe the more we know, the more we can prevent this kind of sickening, irrevocable depravity.

P.S. What a stupid move by Lifeline! That really isn't a job for just anyone looking for a bit of cash. It's quite clear to me how inexperienced Lifeline operators can be with problems they should be well trained in dealing with... you potentially have someone's life in your hands anyway. Handle it with care. Address things properly. Sigh, it seems the more I read about Cowan and his victims, the more hopeless I feel. It's just a sad, sad story and I feel so helpless for everyone involved.

We do have Federal & state government official sex offenders registries, unfortunately they're not available to the general public.

The closest we have at the moment is this one on which there's currently 2,250 offenders listed. Each state is individually listed.

Thanks for posting this marlywings. Is there a reason why they are not available to the general public? I would guess it has something to do with the rights of a perp when they should have no rights they gave them up when they started abusing innocent children.

I just want to reiterate on Lifeline's behalf - they referred the mother to a 'child expert' for further support. IMO they did the right thing. That person is to blame in this case......

Also - Lifeline is staffed by volunteers - nobody on the phones does it for money. I did it when I was at uni - and you give a lot of your time (including regular overnights) out of the goodness of your heart - it is harrowing, but rewarding work. No one is at Lifeline, trying to save lives, out of greed!

Also, the training is INCREDIBLY thorough - it went for three months, several times a week. I always say it was far better counselling training than I received at uni!! And we were really tested before being allowed to go on the phones. Many people didn't get to the phones as the supervisors felt they lacked the appropriate skills.

More confirmation that something is SERIOUSLY up with our justice system:

DANIEL Morcombe’s killer Brett Cowan will gain access to a “smorgasbord” of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and illegal drugs, and secure the “plumb prison jobs” once settled on his return to jail.

Former high-profile Gold Coast lawyer Michael Yarwood, who spent nine months in two prisons for misappropriation of funds and forgery, knows that pedophiles such as Cowan dictate most policies behind bars.......

He admires the Morcombe’s crusade for justice but maintains it will be in vain unless the bureaucratic prison system is reformed to ensure it delivers punishment and deterrence.

“Mistaken for what they term a ‘pram pusher’, within 24 hours of upon arrival at Wolston, which houses alongside the high-profile inmates some of Queensland’s most villainous sex offenders, I was offered a smorgasbord of some of the most sickening images one could imagine,” he said.

Does anyone know who this man is? According to Mako he can expose a peadophile ring on the Sunshine Coast and was linked to Daniel Morcombe somehow. Is it Cowan, because it doesn't look like him, yet he seems to have the same hair and facial hair.

'the human mistake's defence was relentless at blaming Jackway and I suspect these crims will tag O'filthy-one as a dobber and rock spider.
I'm expecting Denise Morcombe's comment that he won't live till 60 will come true.
God knows they do deserve a great big Christmas present.

Thank you for posting. If he is fair dinkum, it would be good to expose these creeps.
With regards to who this is:
IMO, Different shape eyebrows. Different shape ears. Different shape eyes, and I think the chin is pointier than Cowan's (if you can see through the hairy growth)
Slightly similar forehead.
Aside: Feeling bit sick after looking closely at the face of evil for comparisons.

The reasons why they're not made public all revolve around civil libertarians protecting the "rights" of criminals & a fear that a register would lead to vigilantism.

One of our states, West Australia, is currently trialing a register. You can quite easily access a handful of photos of "missing sex offenders", those who have disappeared off the radar, but you have to jump through some hoops to get to listings in the area in which you live.

On that same topic, I see one of Australia's radio broadcaster/community crusader, love him or hate him, Derryn Hinch is launching into attempts to get a sex offenders register up & running. I hope he's successful!!

March 17, 2014

Broadcaster Derryn Hinch says his plan for a public sex offenders register is almost complete and he hopes Daniel Morcombe’s murder will force politicians to act.

Hinch has long campaigned to name and shame paedophiles, saying the Morcombe case proves the need for a national register so Australians can understand threats in their communities.

Hinch is working with the former head of the National Crime Authority, Peter Faris QC, on a draft plan for a register, which should be complete in a month or so.

Absolutely sickening & a darn good reason why we need that sex offenders register!!...

March 18, 2014

PEDOPHILE Mark Trevor Marshall has allegedly been caught with names and photos of children — and maps of suburbs — in his cell just weeks before a hearing about his potential release.

SA Police are investigating the source and nature of items allegedly discovered in the prison cell occupied by Marshall.

The Advertiser understands the material allegedly found in Marshall’s cell includes clippings from magazines featuring photographs of children.

It is further understood maps of suburbs were allegedly found in Marshall’s cell, along with other clippings listing the names and ages of children.

I'm pretty certain it's not Brett Cowan, it was never stated as being him, but the photo was on the MAKO profile for Daniel Morcombe so I've wondered about his relevance, all it said was "this guy could expose multiple pedophile rings in the Sunshine Coast". Slightly scruffy and dangerous looking man. Cowan on the other hand was well disguised as a normal 'bloke' most of the time.

Yes, I agree with you LadyBird1.

I don't think that's Cowan - the facial details are indeed different. Although the creepy outer layer (big beard etc) is the same.

And absolutely, it's really horrendous even looking at the faces of these guys in photos......
