A 46-YEAR-OLD Queensland man has been denied bail after he allegedly tried to throw his partner off the side of a cruise ship and into the Tasman Sea. Police allege Mr Fysh approached his partner from behind on a balcony and grabbed her under the arms in an attempt to throw her overboard as the ship was moving.

A Royal Caribbean Cruises spokeswoman confirmed that ship security were able to restrain Mr Fysh and make sure the woman was safe before notifying authorities.

Tasmanian police were called to the ship, which docked at Hobart at 8am, and arrested Mr Fysh. “Following an investigation, the man was charged with attempted murder of his partner,” a Tasmanian Police statement said.

The couple’s relaxing, five-night cruise to Tasmania nearly ended in tragedy.

Mr Fysh will now spend the next four months in a Tasmanian jail before his Supreme Court appearance.

So the couple go on a cruise, yet he plans to throw her overboard.
I guess she had no idea.
Wonder if this trip, was to rekindle their relationship, due to past problems?
If so, the problems escalated, in his eyes, or this was a way, to end things.
Perhaps we will find these details later.
Sorry everyone, I am trying to understand WHY!:(:(
MOO.

I wonder if there is a history of domestic violence?
In MOO, as a fight occurred at 3.30am, alcohol may be involved. Nevertheless that is no excuse and the police must have found compelling cctv evidence to arrest him immediately.
The couple are from Queensland and he is being held in a Tasmanian jail for 4 months. It seems a long time, guess there is a backlog in the system.

Probably 'your first sentence' will be well investigated.

Yes, maybe he has a police rap sheet as long as your arm.
He'll have 4 long months to think about his actions.

Also really good, that he is now so far away from home.
It is unlikely that he'll be having his friends visiting, because of distance, so 'stories' cannot be invented.o_Oo_O

Seems crimes on Cruise ships are occurring more and more. As there was another this week. And at least one other that I know of set to go to trial next year. Sad.
