Has it been said which friend it was? I'm super new here, so not sure if names etc are ok, but there is a name with the initials DN that pops up on Facebook. He seems to be a school friend of hers and close to them both.After reading the more recent articles, it seems like there could be a few people with "motive".
I find it more than strange however that her Husband called a friend before calling an ambulance?
Surely you would call an ambulance or the Police BEFORE calling your friend?

"Benny comes and sees Erin and says 'She's moving, she's moving' ... so I tried again to resuscitate her.
"I'm pushing her chest saying 'Please don't leave me, please don't leave me'."
Paramedics arrived and took over CPR, but Mrs Gilbert died at the scene.
He remembered a fight his wife had with a friend a week before her death, which he reported to detectives investigating her death.
Mr Gilbert denied the pair had a drug debt or owed money to dealers.
"Erin's been adamant ... she doesn't want us getting in debt with people," he said.
The Gilberts had undergone a government-funded unsuccessful round of IVF in the hope of having a baby, which Mr Gilbert says mentally and emotionally affected his wife more than they both expected.
"Erin took it really hard … she got depression and that, it really messed with her."
Mr Gilbert said he's tried to contact his wife's parents since her death, but hasn't been able to reach them."

so, im wondering if her partner locked the door as he left and was it still locked when he got home, he says he forgot his keys so may not have bothered trying the door then, just seems a bit odd in the circumstances on the night of her death he needed to climb over the balcony? also police released cctv footage of a person riding away on an ebike presumably after the attack and they have impounded her partners ebike, the other thing i wonder is what motivates stabs to the face head and neck, apparantly its quite hard to stab through the skull bone, does it indicate she knew her attacker, would they have defence wounds on their arms or was she stabbed while asleep or drugged?

Police search for person on motorised bike after death of Sydney woman
There's a video in the above MSM link that contains footage of LE conducting ground searches for potential evidence.
I took a virtual stroll around Merrylands and it looks as though they were searching Merrylands Park. Specifically between the swimming pool and the tennis courts, in the car park, and in the surrounding bush. Areas that run alongside Burnett Street.
According to Google Maps, it's a rough distance of 2km between the apartment and Merrylands Park. 7 minute bike ride. No doubt it would be faster on a motorised bike, of course!

I wonder if any neighbours saw him throwing stones and climbing over the balcony. They would have been expecting police to arrive after they called, so would have been alert. I'd also be interested to know the timing of his call compared to the neighbour's call.

Looking at the photos of crime scene workers, where is the bin he used to climb up?
It's a pretty obvious omission. I guess the police took photos then moved it? Seems strange.

I think it looks too high to climb - the investigator on the step ladder looks to be at the height of a bin.

The husband of a woman found dead in their home has spoken about the moment his world stopped and pleaded for her killer to be found.
Mr Gilbert was initially placed under arrest and held in custody for nearly 24 hours, however he was then released without charge.
He has since been ruled out as a potential suspect after CCTV confirmed his whereabouts at the time of the murder, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The man who found his late wife after she was stabbed to death inside her Sydney unit has revealed the moment his world “stopped”.
Nic Gilbert arrived at the pair’s Merrylands home on Easter Sunday after visiting friends to find his wife Erin Gilbert “gurgling blood”.
He had knocked on the door to no answer, and was forced to climb on the bedroom’s balcony where he saw his wife on the floor.

“I came into the bedroom and saw her lying on her back,” Mr Gilbert told Nine’s A Current Affair while holding back tears
“I tried pinching her nose and blowing into her mouth but I was hysterical.
“The more I blew in, nothing was happening. I couldn’t feel any heartbeat and her hands felt cold to me.”
The 42-year-old had suffered “severe” stabbings repeatedly to the head with an unknown sharp object.
Police have scoured the area for clues in relation to the murder
Mr Gilbert said his wife "completed him".
Mr Gilbert was initially placed under arrest and held in custody for nearly 24 hours, however he was then released without charge.
“They put paper bags on my hands and taped them up, I was sitting in the back of the paddy wagon feeling like a bloody chicken on Thanksgiving,” he said.
“(The police officer) comes in and he says, ‘Nicholas Gilbert, I’m placing you under arrest for the murder of Erin Gilbert’.
“My whole f****** world stopped, I just collapsed.”
He has since been ruled out as a potential suspect after CCTV confirmed his whereabouts at the time of the murder, The Daily Telegraph reported.
“No way, I loved Erin with all my heart,” he said.
“I’ll never lay a f------ finger on her. I never did. I never hurt Erin.”
The pair were involved with drugs and were in legal trouble with their previous and current landlord at the time of her death.
Police are still hunting for Ms Gilbert’s killer, with her husband saying he has no idea who could be behind the murder.
He told the program he has an “extensive” criminal history that includes hurting people.
“I kept thinking, maybe have I done something? Does someone hate me?” he said.
Mr Gilbert said he would “move heaven and earth” to give himself and Ms Gilbert’s parent closure after her death.
“They have to have. Everyone knows the only way you’re going to hurt me is by touching, taking Erin,” Gilbert said.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad investigations are continuing.
