Australia - Erin Gilbert, 42, murdered, Merrylands, Sydney, 9th April 2023

They swabbed the balcony, so do they think the killer entered that way, like her husband? Perhaps Erin gave her address for someone to come and buy the bike, and they broke in instead? Or perhaps someone who already knew her address from buying another item.
if that happened, maybe the bike was kept out on the balcony and the potential buyer saw it there and climbed up and took it, after killing erin, not sure how heavy it would be to lift over the balcony though?

If it's the orange Giant in the photo up thread, they are 25kg/55lb. I guess it could be lowered to someone receiving it, but it seems there was only one person seen on CCTV leaving. A second person may have not left the area/ not left at the same time? If the bike was dropped, someone would hear that. They seemed to have a lot of bikes, perhaps there is a bike storage garage near the apartment block?

9News can exclusively reveal police have a person of interest and say charges are likely but it's a bittersweet moment for her husband, who was initially the prime suspect.

From your link:
9News can reveal police have a new person of interest - Mr Gilbert's best friend Morten Jensen.
"He was like a brother to me, I trusted him with Erin," Mr Gilbert said.
Mr Gilbert claims he spoke with Jensen on the night of Gilbert's death, claiming Jensen was trying to phone her.

i wonder if this "best mate" is the one he rang instead of an ambulance when he found his wifes body?

wouldnt it be a health hazard living in the apartment with all that blood still soaked into the carpet? i guess her husband had no choice and couldnt afford a crime scene cleaner, but surely the landlord would have an interest in removing the carpet?

I can't phrase what I want to say and remain within the rules, I'll have to sleep on it!
Back with careful thoughts.
Is Jensen the friend who was mentioned here as coming between the Gilberts? Husband's distressing post after wife's death

I would like to know how long is Jensen's sentence for the previous offence he was in custody for. I don't have access to these listings but Google shows several recent court appearances: court "morten birkegaard Jensen" - Google Search
In the light of all of those court appearances it seems strange that a best friend/"brother" wouldn't know what was going on. If it is a substantial sentence I would have further thoughts.

I find it concerning that someone with health concerns is street homeless in winter. I also wonder why friends and family seem not to be offering support.
