That's cheesy!

It sounds to me like he admitted everything readily. Maybe he even bragged about it. If it was something he'd been looking forward to and planning/fantasising about for a long time perhaps he was proud of it. Ugh.Interesting that THREE of ARM's friends called police...
were they all together?
Did ARM run to their place(s) and confess?
Did ARM tell his friends he had fantasies about killing?... And that was his intent that Sunday morning?
I am so interested in HOW LE gained the information that he was fantasizing about killing a person(s)...

I very recently signed up for an account because this terrible incident occurred just down the road from where I live in Spring Hill. I have been reading the responses on this thread and I can’t help but notice one glaring thing that no one has yet gathered or pointed out (and neither have the media). This evil man, Alex McEwan, is none other than a person born without a conscience. By definition, that makes him none other than a psychopath.
I am rapidly losing patience with society at large which fails to name these psychopathic creatures for what they are, when all the evidence points to them being just that — people who resemble normal humans, but are anything but humans deep down, for they are nothing like normal people born with a conscience.
I am also rapidly losing patience with the absurd notion that “no one is born evil”. Newsflash: Yes, some people are! There are numerous documented cases of very normal, intelligent parents having children with very normal upbringings, who nonetheless turn out to be psychopathic. I have been studying psychopathy for many, many years; I have read many different books from many different psychologists and scientists, and it is a fact that up to 6% of the world’s population is psychopathic. Brain scans show psychopathy to be an inherent hardwiring of the brain that no amount of therapy can ever fix; on the contrary therapy has shown to make these psychopaths worse!
It is abundantly clear to me that this man Alex McEwan has absolutely no ability whatsoever to empathise with another human being; he lacks any kind of conscience. Alas much of the world is controlled by psychopaths, and many of them are much more intelligent than Alex McEwan because they avoid doing openly criminal things such as murdering innocent people at night. But they are psychopaths nonetheless and are behind the orchestrations of many wars and other heinous mass crimes. Many CEOs are psychopathic, for they are drawn to positions of power.
I could go on and on for pages and pages on this topic, but rather, I suggest everyone do themselves a massive favour and read books on the topic of psychopathy ASAP, because everyone encounters them on a daily basis and needs to be educated on recognising them and dealing with them. Most of them are not serial killers; in fact many of them can come across as quite charming to begin with, until you know them better.

The Sociopath Next Door -- Martha Stout
Women Who Love Psychopaths -- Sandra Brown
The Mask of Sanity -- Hervey Cleckley
Snakes in Suits -- Robert Hare and Paul Babiak
Without Conscience -- Robert Hare
I'd be interested to know what school he went to if anyone has sleuthed that information?
There is something really disturbingly odd about this whole thing.
He 'dreams' of being a murderer, he attacks someone on a public street where he could have been stopped in achieving his goal (if anyone realised what he was doing), he puts items in the branches (was his shirt one of those items?), his friends seem to know it was him, his family is stunned that it was him, his efforts to cover his tracks seem to have been minimal .. spotted on CCTV, caught very quickly ... he writes a letter to the Bans ... it is almost as if he wanted to get caught and thrown in jail.
ETA: Another odd thing ... he planned on killing 'someone' yet he takes no weapon with him, he relies on his bare hands to do the job .... so needed any 'easy' target. Was Eunji the first person he saw that morning, or the first easy target he saw?
It is interesting that his patents are professionals and he is an apprentice spray painter. Wondering if he did not live up to his parents expectations. Could have been friction there. If his friends were able to tell there was a problem with him, enough that they would report him to the police (you would not take this step lightly) he must have shown some odd tendencies. Surprising that his family who would have been closest to him did not notice anything in his behaviour. Especially his fixation and drawings of deaths. The photo with blacked out eyes shows what looks to be a very nice looking happy guy. It just goes to show you never can tell by looks who is the bad guy.

^^I noticed that too Marg - the discrepancy between his employment and the professions of his parents. In photos that his father has online, ARM is often physically separate from the rest of his family - and there are numerous photos of his sister and hardly any of him. The photos suggest someone on the 'outer' within the family.
I would think he must have had noticeable issues as a child and wouldn't be surprised if there had been disturbing incidences before this - it is highly unusual to just suddenly kill someone - usually a series of escalating actions over their life.......or some other acting out behaviours indicating deeper disturbance eg drug use/vandalism/petty crime. We'll see........
Folks just a reminder.....parents/family of the accused may be discussed insofar as what is mentioned in MSM (mainstream media). Sleuthing, speculation of them is not allowed on WS.
Mr Ban paid tribute to investigators for arresting McEwan within 36 hours of his daughter's body being found, as well as those who assisted police in their investigation.
"I wish to especially point out the exceptional work by the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch and thank them for their devotion in this matter, which in turn made the prompt and successful apprehension of the perpetrator possible. Thank you," he said.
"My family and I wish to thank the brave witness who came forward to police, providing vital information that helped in the identification and apprehension of the [alleged] offender."
He said he hoped his daughter's death would promote awareness of the importance of personal safety in others.
