So, these kids weren't terminally ill or in terrible pain, but even if they were, this wouldn't be okay.

They were murdered for being autistic.

It isn't too much to expect parents to not murder their children.

No sympathy for their murderers, not one speck. Only the kids, who should be alive and thriving.

Unpopular opinion here, but I would argue we should stop and think hard at what brought these parents to this point.
Being a carer - and I speak from experience - is one of the hardest things and one often ends up being very lonely in this role, as well as often develop physical and mental health issues that are usually overlooked due to the focus being on caring for someone else.

The Carer wellbeing survey report from 2024 by the University of Canberra offers interest insights on this topic.

Those children did not deserve to be murdered, and I can't even begin to comprehend a parent getting to such a point to see this as the only way out.
However, I don't feel that calling them monsters is fair either.
This is a tragedy beyond my comprehension, that should make us take a hard look at what the system can and should do to support people in their same situation.

Actually, from what I can gather, it appears to be a double murder suicide. The articles suggest the wife and husband jointly murdered the children then jointly suicided. IMO. Articles can be accessed just up thread.

But it is indeed a monsterous act to murder the kids. They weren't terminally ill and physically in agony with no help from doctors, right?

I am sure the boys valued their lives and didn't want to die. So for the parents to take their lives, because how dare anyone else have the chance to take over after their own suicides and care for their boys and love them.... Nope.

Murdering special needs kids is not something we can start to excuse.

I said very similar in my post above and apologize. I didn't mean to take your words. I guess they had impact for me.

But to me, that would be the one reason that wouldn't be angering, the one reason I could see just feeling compassion. But this isn't such a case.

There are indeed too many cases where a parent just can't face forever with a special needs child, or a child with huge medical challenges, and I can personally understand the parent becoming paralyzed to go on. But then they should let someone else care for the child...

I take that to mean they found no gun or knife. I suppose that leaves overdose, poison, carbon monoxide, smothering, which I'd have thought if used to kill someone would still be classified as a weapon.
It has been reported as a double murder-suicide meaning the children and pets were killed then the parents entered a suicide pact.

This is not a case of "let's get rid of the kids because they're a burden and go live our lives". This is so unbearably sad.
They could have been helped and the saddest part is that the help would have maybe kept their children alive.

I wish the outrage we all feel in this case served the purpose of looking at how we can prevent anything like this happening again.

It's states here, in this article that no weapon was used during the incident.

I agree. This isn’t to take away from the fact that what happened was horrific. Most people I know who have a child with additional needs are constantly fighting for support and help. My mother was the same, and unfortunately she’s paid for the toll it’s taken on her mental health. JMO.
