Looks like Crawford’s request for an adjournment until he speaks to his solicitor must have been approved. So perhaps he still hadn’t spoken to his solicitor yesterday.

Crawford requested an adjournment when the matter went to court on 10th January, 2025…….

“Crawford, who appeared by video link from Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre, sought an adjournment so he could speak to his lawyers.

“I can assure you … I’m not selling the properties, this is ridiculous this whole thing about the urgency. There’s no urgency,” he said.”

I'm betting the kids ( possibly with grandparents input ) had their lawyers put a lien on the property/s which would certainly result in Crawford suddenly not feeling any 'urgency' about dissolving his rights to it....

The alleged murderer is due in Ipswich Magistrates court this Friday, 7th March, 2025, for a Committal hearing. However the court website has an announcement, that matters may be adjourned due to the pending arrival of Cyclone Albert.

Cyclone Albert is predicted to hit that area on Thursday or Friday.

Pilot accused of killing Qld mother Frances Crawford applying for bail

A Queensland air force pilot accused of murdering his wife and allegedly making it look like a lawnmower accident has made a bid for freedom.

The air force pilot accused of murdering his wife and allegedly making it look like a lawnmower accident will apply to be released from jail.

Robert John Crawford, 46, was charged with murdering and interfering with the corpse of his wife – Toowoomba psychologist and mother-of-three Frances Crawford – on July 30.

Emergency crews were initially called to the pair’s Lockyer Valley property at 3.30am where her body was found next to a ride-on lawnmower at the bottom of a high retainer wall in their backyard.

Crawford was charged on October 11 after an in-depth investigation by police and has remained in custody at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre since.

Last week, Crawford made an application to apply for bail on April 4.

It’s the second time Crawford has intended to apply for bail, after first making an application in October last year but adjourning the matter just two days before the court date.

The bail application will be heard before a judge in Brisbane Supreme Court.

Crawford initially raised the alarm to paramedics about Mrs Crawford’s death and was assisting police with inquiries.

In September, Crawford listed the home where Mrs Crawford was allegedly killed on AirBnB as a “tranquil” retreat and charged guests $300 a night.

In October, police made an appeal to the public for information, revealing that Crawford had connections with women all over the world who he met on dating apps and through his career as a pilot with the Royal Australian Air Force.

The women resided in Italy, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Afghanistan, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, and across Australia including Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Less than a week after the appeal, officers arrested Crawford at the Lockyer Valley house and charged him with Mrs Crawford’s murder, and interfering with a corpse.

Ms Crawford was a much-loved mother-of-three who worked as a psychologist at Quality Life Psychology Services in Toowoomba. Ms Crawford’s devastated family have previously spoken about their grief, saying the murder charge was a “step forward”.

“Her death has been devastating to us all, even more so given the circumstances,” part of the statement read.

“We are thankful that police have been relentless in their investigations in an effort to provide us answers and to seek justice for Frances.”

She was also deeply involved in her church, Toowoomba Restoration Church.

Crawford’s criminal case will also be in court on Wednesday for a committal hearing.

Thanks Bear13 for that news. I can’t find the name of the Judge who will preside on the application. I think we can only see that the day before the matter.

I bet Crawford is hoping he gets the same Judge that Larissa Sant had…. Justice Davis.

And a committal hearing this Wednesday 19th March. As per @Marg944's posted listing - a few posts back.

I wonder what his chances of getting bail in April are, if he is committed to trial this week.

Thanks. It is good to know the case is still moving along ... even though it seems to be under some suppression.
I contacted Ipswich court to enquire about a video link, but they do not have that facility for members of the public to remotely view cases, they only have video link for inmates.

He wouldn't even have to buy a ticket , he could just steal a plane!! He must have found some spare change in an old account to pay a barrister to rep him applying for bail.. being a murder charge , he has to do it thru the Supreme Court ...

whoa.. he can apply thru the magistrates court , apparently!!!! on a murder charge,.... Qld laws are Byzantine!!!

I think Marg's links are Supreme Court (top right hand corner of her screenshot) for application for bail, set for 4/4/25.

Magistrates Court for Committal on 19/3/25.

The "Supreme" is very unnoticeable on the bail listing.

Premature’: Fears of fresh delay in case against air force pilot charged with wife’s murder raised in court

A court has been told of a possible delay in the case against an air force pilot charged with his wife’s murder following a ride-on mower “accident”.”

“During a brief mention on Wednesday, Crown prosecutor Chris Cook sought dates for a directions and committal hearing to be listed in the coming months.

In Queensland, a directions hearing is a procedural matter that determines timelines for a case and the actions required by the parties.

Mr Cook told Ipswich Magistrates Court that discussions were taking place about what experts would be subject to cross-examination at a future committal hearing.

“Why would I take up a directions hearing and committal hearing date, and waste days, until the material is otherwise provided?” magistrate Jason Schubert asked.

It seems premature for me to be giving dates out.

“Why the extensive delay? The application to cross-examine is well outside the practice direction timeframe.”

Mr Cook replied it was a large case and the brief was made available in February.

“Mr Crawford is applying for bail in a few weeks on a serious charge of murder,” he said.

“My fear is if it is adjourned for another month, we may not get a committal hearing for this year.”

Mr Schubert said defence applications could be filed by July in time for a future directions hearing.

The matter was adjourned to April 30 for a further review and a directions hearing was set down for August 22.

No dates were allocated for a committal hearing.”

So many countries and I assume so many women.
The country list appears to be growing.

Could the delay be because there are more women now who might know something re his relationship with his wife or
some other information.

Did he only "play" away from home.

Do you think that's what the prosecutor means when he said it is a "large case". The sheer volume of women that may have to testify, depending what they will be testifying about (specifically).

Like, I wonder if he told women he was divorced and other stuff pointing to Frances being out of the picture already.
Her alleged murder being a catch-up for lies already told perhaps? IYKWIM

There may be a financial motive too, that needs extensive proving by the police.

imo
