Australia - Frances Crawford 49, found dead after suspicious lawn mower accident in Queensland.

I'd love to know how his going to explain away the fractured hyoid bone, all the DNA under all her nails & no grass on her shoes.

He'll make it into a book for the dumbest criminals in the future.........
That is going to take a triple twist with pike.... I don't know how that is going to fly, really. The real dead giveaway, is he didn't even think to DO THE DISHES.. which no woman would leave to face in the morning rush..

Says there he has a small family support.. , mighty small.. even his own kids have called barley on him.

'''Crawford’s family, including his own children, described him as a “master manipulator” who tormented them over a long period of time and played the victim.

The couple had previously separated and were seeing a marriage counsellor prior to Frances’ death after Crawford admitted to cheating on her for 10 years.'''

That's a lot of suffering for her and the kids... day by day . year by year.. he was a walking talking minefield,....

Hard to fathom why they stayed together for those last 10 years... any wrong step and it's good night , VIenna.. I bet he was an absolute angel at work.. what a guy...

This Brisbane Times article has a little more information.

(paraphrased)

His barrister told the court that Crawford left the lawnmower near the retaining wall because he had been charging a battery ... the battery had faulted during the day.

And there was discussion between Frances and Crawford about moving the mower because the sprinklers were about to turn on. (discussion meaning Signal messages between two adults who live in the same house)

After multiple attempts Crawford was eventually able to lift the mower and drag Frances out.

Prosecutor said Crawford has been painted as the aggressor on many occasions.
Defence said there are claims he is controlling but no evidence of physical violence.

Crawford told police he had taken a shower after providing first aid to Frances (and I am guessing before calling anyone). That is why there was blood in the ensuite.

I am curious as to what part her pastor will play in this.. wasn't it he who originally alerted the police to the suspicious nature of her demise? He didn't belong to the church, just Frances.. and her family, I think but I am not sure of that.. If I have any of that wrong I'd appreciate being set on the right course..

I wonder if Signal had been installed on her phone prior to the night she died? Or, if he was manipulating info as alleged, did he install Signal on her phone, then send the potentially faked messages? (I can believe he would have had Signal on his phone for a long time since he had multiple affairs.)

I do think he's a flight risk. He's being described as a master manipulator, he has military knowledge/training that might be handy in knowing how to escape or evade detection, and he's a pilot. I sure hope he is refused bail. Imo.

Ooooh I don’t remember anything like that but would love to know if I missed it……

(groan) I will have to go back thru the threads.. all 36 of 😬 'em. She had been deceased for some time, way after her funeral, when he was arrested.. months. .. and I think the pastor, to whom Frances probably confided in about the situation, either wrote to the police or went to see them. . I'll be . back some time , maybe this year, going thru the threads , unless anyone else remembers this??

I just did a thread search for you ... what I am finding is the pastor calling Frances' (alleged) murder a grave injustice.

And our speculation that the pastor may have known more about Frances' side of the marriage story, being her pastor, and Frances being very close to her church.

Frances and her children were members of that church for 8 years. This article says that the church was doing what it could to support her children through this and beyond.

“A Toowoomba pastor of a church where respected psychologist Frances Crawford was a member of gave a passionate sermon about injustice coming “very close” to home.”

What kind of a husband if innocent even thinks about going to have a shower with their wife lying there probably or possibly dead.

I thought that too. But then I thought he and/or his defense lawyers figured it was better for him to look like a callous jerk with bad decision-making skills rather than a murderer?

Imo.

You are niftier than I , SA.. thanks for that headsup.. I recall that he was not having a bit of interest in her death being an accident.. The pastor , I mean.. not squadron leader shifty.

Actually I was wondering and I suppose the police know who he contacted before and after his wife died.
Did he consult a lawyer right away.
Did he continue on with his "friendships" with other women.

Gerard Baden Clay came to mind.
Ie I will be free by next month, or whenever. I forget the details.

Today's Courier Mail article says that he was using his phone a lot throughout the evening. It doesn't say if he was messaging, calling, or looking things up on Google, or what he was doing on his phone.

And their Alexa was switched off at 8:48pm.

Did he switch Alexa off before he allegedly murdered Frances? If so, that might indicate some level of premeditation.

The police have turned to Alexa in the past to see if she recorded a murder. Link

Be interesting to know what the tipping point was about. She already knew he was a wanderer, had been for 10 years ... I suspect that money was the tipping point for him.... she might have laid it out for him how much his removal was going to cost him.. That usually gets women murdered.. in that sense , the pocket screams louder than anything else..

I don't use Alexa and only have a basic understanding of it.
Ie you can ask it questions and it can turn smart devices on and off, ie smart lights on and off.

Why is it important that it was turned off. Does it keep track of what room you and your phone or watch are in?

  • #757
I wonder if any of his seemingly many women friends gave him money and did they know who he really was.
I mean had they all met him in person and/or did he use his real name.

Alexa attempts to call and text your emergency contact when you or someone in your house says, "Alexa, call for help."

If the wake word is said
[in this case the wake word is Alexa], however, then the audio is recorded and sent to the voice recognition service at the company.

Yes I do recall that option being available.

One thing that struck me, was... after Frances" funeral, he went to New Guinea... and there was a mention in that list the QLD coppers gave out of where his libido took him , all around the world, one of the mentions was to New Guinea , on that record of his phone calls.
