Girls who skipped school raped in Fairfield Park: police

Two teenage girls who had become lost after skipping school to go shopping in Castle Hill were lured off a train and raped in broad daylight on Tuesday, police say.

Police are hunting for three men who struck up a conversation with the 16-year-old school friends on a train near Blacktown and convinced them to get off at Fairfield and go to a park where they were allegedly sexually assaulted.

Tragic. I hope they get the counseling and help they need.

I can't help but feel that the headline is worded like a cautionary tale. Millions of students skip school and do not get assaulted. Skipping school, while obviously unadvisable, did not put them into this sort of danger.
