Australia - Greg Josephson, founder of Universal Stores, murdered during teen house party, Brisbane, 26 Jun 2025

His Instagram is odd. Just a very strange feel to it. I can’t quite work out if that is just his style or if it’s all very mocking of that one child. That said, I have children around that age and personally, I wouldn’t think that boy in the photos is 15. They seem to end in 2023, but I the looks about 10 in those photos. JMO
Who knows, I tend to lean towards it just being his style and not meaning to be in a mocking way. Perhaps it is some "inside" family thing that makes no sense to anyone on the outside?

From what I have seen on Instagram, it appears there are three children and the one you are talking about looks to be the youngest of the three

IMO

The older son - starting with B - is pretty much absent from age 9/10. The psychology review left byy Mum alludes to serious oppositional defiance so he likely refused to jump in and play happy families in the photographs. Look up Augustus Gloop on Google - there s a resemblance to youngest son - not a flattering name but may be good natured nickname, or a mocking objectification of the young fellow. The "Augustus loves his weiner" photo is creepy IMO.

Cops launch fresh appeal as teenager charged with murder of Universal Store co-founder Greg Josephson at Brisbane home

Police are urgently seeking fresh information as they investigate the alleged murder of a businessman who died during a house party.

Police are now asking the public for any dashcam or CCTV footage of the areas spanning Oriel Rd, Alexandra Rd and Barlow St between the hours of 7pm to 8.30pm on June 26.”

Just a thought. This house was on the market and probably cleaned and staged to within a inch of its life. With an open house inspection days away I would imagine thee father would not have consented to a house party and tried to shut it down. Setting the stage for a full on teen temper meltdown.

Also if the father struck the child during the altercation - he was taken to hospital - self defence might be relevant?

The map showing the three streets that Police have requested video footage of surround a cafe, which seems to match the flooring in the video which showed the 15 year old accused, moving the bins.

The report says the teenager was taken to hospital with a 'minor hand injury', sounds likely it could have been caused when holding the knife during the attack?

Exactly my thoughts. Mother may have been at their Noosa home with the other 2 kids. Dad was probably not expected to come home that night (may have been up the coast too) but then he walked in, found out a teenage party was about to happen in his staged to sell home, and attempted to shut it down.

Thanks Marg. Appears he left the party and went for a wander around the block. Maybe disposed of (or attempted to dispose of) the weapon at the cafe or park, maybe hung around the park trying to process it all, called the cops and was picked up in Barlow Street beside the park. If so, the party at the house would've been weird with him gone and the body upstairs. Leaving and making the phone call (quite quickly as it all happened within a couple of hours) could indicate some immediate realisation about the gravity of the situation and perhaps remorse. What a tragic mess.

There is a pay phone right next to the cafe where the 15 year old was seen.

Ah ok well he wasn’t moving the bins to hide the weapon then. Maybe he was considering hiding himself. I imagine he would've made the call on his own phone too. Left the knife at the scene, walked out of his own party, wandered around nearby and called the cops.
What a complete nightmare.

The murder is now on the Queensland Crime Map.

I think that the family of parents and two younger children, was at Noosa for the school holidays and they got word that a party was planned for that night. Presumably the father returned to Brisbane to stop it and died at about 4pm, then the mother would have been notified after 9pm. You would imagine that she would have been trying to call the father during this time to find out what was happening about the party and calls/messages would have been unanswered.

Why do you think he died around 4pm?

I think you're right about the family being away at their Noosa/Cooroy home, and Greg returning unexpectedly. Maybe he got wind of the party and drove back to stop it. If so the rest of the family, Mum and the other two kids, would have known what was happening.

What doesn’t make a lot of sense is leaving a 15 year old, with a potential history of behavioural and/or mental health issues, alone at home and alone in a 5 mill home that is on the market.

If Greg was at Noosa when he heard about the party going on at Clayfield, he faced over a 2 hour drive to get there.

Assuming the altercation was over the party occurring in the home, would the accused have proceeded with hosting the party if Greg was in Brisbane and due home at some point that night? Did Greg learn about the party earlier in the day and headed south to sort it out? The teen left alone in that house whilst the family is up the coast doesn’t sit right though.

The family has quite an established life around Noosa and Cooroy and appears to spend a lot of time there, with possibly the two younger kids in school there too.
