Who knows, I tend to lean towards it just being his style and not meaning to be in a mocking way. Perhaps it is some "inside" family thing that makes no sense to anyone on the outside?
The report says the teenager was taken to hospital with a 'minor hand injury', sounds likely it could have been caused when holding the knife during the attack?
Exactly my thoughts. Mother may have been at their Noosa home with the other 2 kids. Dad was probably not expected to come home that night (may have been up the coast too) but then he walked in, found out a teenage party was about to happen in his staged to sell home, and attempted to shut it down.
Thanks Marg. Appears he left the party and went for a wander around the block. Maybe disposed of (or attempted to dispose of) the weapon at the cafe or park, maybe hung around the park trying to process it all, called the cops and was picked up in Barlow Street beside the park. If so, the party at the house would've been weird with him gone and the body upstairs. Leaving and making the phone call (quite quickly as it all happened within a couple of hours) could indicate some immediate realisation about the gravity of the situation and perhaps remorse. What a tragic mess.
Ah ok well he wasn’t moving the bins to hide the weapon then. Maybe he was considering hiding himself. I imagine he would've made the call on his own phone too. Left the knife at the scene, walked out of his own party, wandered around nearby and called the cops.There is a pay phone right next to the cafe where the 15 year old was seen.

I think that the family of parents and two younger children, was at Noosa for the school holidays and they got word that a party was planned for that night. Presumably the father returned to Brisbane to stop it and died at about 4pm, then the mother would have been notified after 9pm. You would imagine that she would have been trying to call the father during this time to find out what was happening about the party and calls/messages would have been unanswered.
Why do you think he died around 4pm?
Assuming the altercation was over the party occurring in the home, would the accused have proceeded with hosting the party if Greg was in Brisbane and due home at some point that night? Did Greg learn about the party earlier in the day and headed south to sort it out? The teen left alone in that house whilst the family is up the coast doesn’t sit right though.
