GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

After Mr McNamara’s arrest last night, police seized a white car from Cronulla, a blue car from Mr McNamara’s home and a silver car from a Padstow Heights home.

A boat was also taken from a storage shed in Caringbah.

Three kilograms of methamphetamine found in one of the cars was allegedly linked to the drug deal, police believe.

McNamara, who was taken into police custody after his vehicle was stopped in Kyeemagh in southern Sydney last night, was remanded in custody when he appeared in a Kogarah court today.

I can't see which car the drugs were in .. were they in the car with him when arrested, the white car in Cronulla, which was used in the crime and his regular driving car by the looks, or were they in the blue car? The silver car mentioned must be Rogerson's.

Also since McNamara lived at Cronulla, weren't BOTH cars seized from Cronulla?

Jamie wasnt shy or keeping a low profile to have a chat with staff of Micks Meats

On Monday detectives spent more than an hour inside Mick Meat’s on Arab Rd, where Gao was last seen getting out of his car, talking to staff.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/la...st-police-allege/story-fni0fee2-1226932647224

I took this to mean "detectives spent more than an hour inside Mick Meat’s on Arab Rd ((where Gao was last seen getting out of his car,)) talking to staff. That seems to fit the context of the rest of the interview.

So they just went where he was last seen and talked to people, rather than Gao himself talking to staff. Journalists failing at clear grammar again.

I'm thinking the storage unit must belong to one of the Dodgies. Why else would they stack chairs in the boot -- and then bring them back?

Like "we were just having a barbie/throwing an office party, needed these here chairs, nothing to see, move along"...in case anyone was watching.

I share the incredulity about them not being aware of CCTV -- McN is not that much older than me, and --I-- know there's CCTV everywhere, and I'm not a crooked ex cop/detective!

It's hard to reconcile how dumb they were with their former lives. Maybe they were just dumb. Or maybe it was a sting, focussed entirely on -them- and Jamie was collateral damage. That's kind of where I'm at atm on it.

Caught on camera: How organised crime is spreading throughout Sydney

He allegedly told them he was going to meet a man, by the name of "Glen", and sell him crystal meth in a deal that would deliver him a decent pay day.

But he is not the first student lured into Sydney's seedy underworld by the promise of a quick pay day.

But the crime, allegedly involving two former cops trying an old-fashioned drug rip-off, one of them indelibly associated in the public mind with an earlier era of crime in sin city, is something else again.

I'm changing my mind. The storage unit must have belonged to Rogerson or his wife since it was in Padstow and seems to have had the kind of left over furniture you keep on hand, but don't want cluttering the house.

All this talk about McNamara being a whistleblower, I read he was suspected of being dirty, so went in search of some old links ..

Glen McNamara - who was set up in the police force by corrupt officers he investigated, then was cleared, then pensioned off - is presented here as the archetypal honest cop who flew in the face of a corrupt system and was savaged by it.

What's that about then, what was he 'set up' for?

In 2004 he gave evidence to the Federal Parliamentary Crime Committee, detailing his allegations. As a result, he says, his police record was "spiked" with allegations of an armed robbery. He successfully sued the NSW Police Force for defamation and had his record corrected. "There were problems for four or five years with me getting a job," he says. "It was payback from the police for me giving evidence before a properly constituted parliamentary committee."

Soon after a police officer assigned to advise him on personal security said: "You're a pariah. No one will work with you. One of two things will happen. You will be lured to an isolated location by the ******** report of a job and then shot, or your locker will be loaded up with heroin and you'll be locked up. Either way, there's no future for you [with the police]."

From everything I can see he seems like a man consumed with bitterness. I don't think the myth of him being one straight cop in a room full of bent cops can stand considering recent events, he is likely just the guy who was marked by the media as a whistleblower, and being out of work he turned that image into a sort of ad-hock career for himself IMO.

Is anyone else asking himself why the public has been shown the CCTV of Arab Rd but so far none of the CCTV in front of the storage unit?

IBR, I would assume it's to do with evidence crucial to the case or something, maybe stuff that's to be used in court?

What are your own thoughts on it?

Why would GM keep the surfboard bag and clothes he allegedly wore. But then again why did dumb and dumber do so many of the things they did.
I just dont get it, to me everything just falls into place too easily. They may as well have just shot Jamie in the street....MOO

The pair then backed their station wagon up to the storage shed where they allegedly loaded Mr Gao's body wrapped in the surfboard bag and blue tarpaulin into the car.

Officers later seized the surfboard bag from McNamara's Cronulla home as well as clothing he was allegedly wearing in the security footage.

"It's the belief of most involved that it was planned," a police officer working on the case said.

Mr Gao had previously met Mr McNamara but the meeting last week was always going to be their last, it will be alleged.

.... given McNamara's whistleblower status, a part of me actually wondered if this wasn't massive payback for the cops he took down. Stranger things have happened at sea.

But his association with RR says otherwise, ofc. Still, is it weird the cops are talking about it being "Planned" to the media, at this stage? They're usually so tight-lipped about murder cases. Lotta info coming out on this one, even --pictures of the body-- for gosh sake. When does that ever happen nowadays?

According to Ch 10 news - when they obtained the Video of Jamie in Arab Rd the Police didn't have it.

http://tenplay.com.au/news/sydney/2014/5/28/police-informant (at 1.17)

So I would say that MSM got hold of this piece of Video before the police, if not we would never have seen it.

BBM - Also, why on earth once you have put a body into a Surf Board Bag would you take it out again. Wouldn't it be better if all the DNA on the bag be lost with the body.

This gets stranger and stranger. I would almost say they had been set up if not for their reputations.

APN Newsdesk understands the Padstow raids were carried out at Mr Rogerson's property and that police also seized a white car which allegedly contained 3kg of methamphetamine

A third car, a white Ford Falcon, has also been seized from a location in Cronulla.

McNamara’s white Ford Falcon station wagon was also seized as well as a boat allegedly belonging to him, which was being kept in a storage unit in Caringbah
Following the man's arrest, police executed a search warrant at his residence in Cronulla, seizing a blue Ford Falcon XR6 and a number of other items of interest to investigators

A Silver Ford Falcon allegedly belonging to Rogerson, who was known during his lengthy police career as “The Dodger”, can be seen in a car park in the foreground

Rogerson's car seems to be parked in Mick's Meats car park (from memory of video) - it's a small business unit, is he a regular or do they just let him park there to watch a drug deal go down?

Okay. All this car business is just doing my head in, any help in sorting it is appreciated! lol..

What I understand right now is that Jamie's seen exiting his own car, and getting into a -white car- with two asian men.

They then go in this white car to the storage unit.

Jamie enters, but does not come out (until later, dead). The asian then drive back to Jamie's car?

Then they use keys? or break in? and drive Jamie's car around for a while.

Then they dump his car and... what. Walk back to their own car and drive away? Leave the -white car- where it was and bolt? Did one drive to Jamie's car and pick the other one up?

Is this the "white car" with the drugs in it, or is that one of the several "white cars" seized belonging to the Dodgy Bros?

Why the heck would the two men -bother- with Jamie's car at all?

so confused... :scared:

From my understanding: The 2 Asian guys were with Jamie in his car. Jamie then got in the White car with GM leaving the 2 Asian guys with his car - Dodger followed GM and Jamie in the silver car. They went to the Storage unit 3 went in 2 came out.

Aha, so the white car belongs to GM!!! Gosh thanks. I just had one of those moments where nothing's clear, no matter how plain it actually is, you know? Hehe. Much appreciated.

The press have confused everyone with the way they have written some of the reports. They really need to brush up on their sentence structure. Mine's not great but I'm not a reporter - lol.

I believe that the White Car is GM's - the Blue Car (they confiscated) is also GM's - the Silver Car is Dodgers. Jamie's car is also White.
