The Police will have some explaining to do if he was working for them in a sting operation.

NSW Police have denied reports that Jamie Gao was working as an informant when he was allegedly murdered during a bungled drug deal last week.

Ten News tonight reported that Gao was working as a police informant in a sophisticated drug investigation when he was allegedly shot by former detectives Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara in a Padstow storage unit last Tuesday.

But NSW Police are adamant the 20-year-old was not involved in any of their operations.

The Australian Crime Commission “could not confirm or deny” if Mr Gao was working for them, according to the report.

Just adding the official press release from the NSW Police:

Police clarify news report

NSW Police can confirm there are no links between a police investigation into the murder of Jamie Gao and an entirely separate operation, Strike Force Duperry, which investigated the importation and large supply of precursor drugs used to manufacture methyl amphetamine.

Looks like they have only denied links with Strike Force Duperry - what about other investigations? And 'cannot deny or confirm' - there are still questions in my mind.

What if the police informant angle is being leaked by the defense side to make Rogerson's case seem almost halfway understandable to fellow crims as opposed to the 'greedy corrupt ex copper who murdered a kid so he didn't have to pay him for the drugs' angle?

I am aghast that they chose a highly secured Storage Facility to commit this crime -
Who did the storage space belong to?
It is not far from Arab Road where Mr Gao was seen meeting the other men.
The msm reported 600mtrs - Micks Meats Arab Road Padstow

Rent A Space Self Storage Padstow
57 Davies Rd
Padstow

The facility is very modern with state of the art security measures in place ....

Those storage facilities are everywhere and everyone knows they have CCTV cameras, especially two ex detectives, one of which was currently a PI .. Makes no sense, does it?

People who rent storage units need to provide government issued photo identification or can rent a unit through a business.

They said they were checking storage facilities and were looking for a body,” a staff member said.

A third storage facility in Revesby refused to say if police had visited them over the last week.

On Monday detectives spent more than an hour inside Mick Meat’s on Arab Rd, where Gao was last seen getting out of his car, talking to staff.

Still no news on who was leasing the storage unit.
Was it Rogerson and McNamara?
What else is in that storage unit?

News said they came out with some chairs and placed them on top of the body.

Had the storage space been used for other deals or to store other drugs?

Maybe if they re-checked past video footage they may see who has been frequenting the premises and that particular unit.

I wonder if the 'friends' that Mr Gao meet prior to the meeting, rented the storage space - and the key to the facility.

Maybe the 'friends' were the ones who were supposed to do the hand over and get caught - and they placed Mr Gao in their place.

If Gao already had the goods on him - why go to the storage unit for the exchange - it could have been done in a car - it could have been done anywhere but inside the storage place.

Where is the gun that shot Mr Gao?

With the amount of CCTV camera footage and evidence - I think this was an operation that was being watched closely - sounds like a drug operation to me. Its easy for the Op's to supply this sort of quantity of meth.
I think the Op's were after the 'friends' - unless those 'friends' were Op Agents...

Thinking out aloud ...

Police will allege Mr Gao met with two young Asian men on Arab St, Padstow.

Police have seized CCTV footage from Mick’s Meat on Arab St which shows Mr Gao getting out of his white Nissan Silvia sedan and getting into a white Ford Falcon around 1.40pm, Tuesday. It shows him carrying a bag which police allege contained the ice

A silver Ford Falcon allegedly belonging to Rogerson, who was known during his lengthy police career as “The Dodger”, can be seen in a car park in the foreground.

Gao’s car was found by police around the corner on Stuart St after two Asian men who arrived with Gao returned hours after he went missing and moved it.

I know Im not very good at sleuthing but all parties involved are seen on Arab St ,am I reading this correctly or way off? something is really stinky to me about this whole situation.

oh and then
They find the body off Cronulla the same suburb where McNamara lives with his wife and family. :banghead:

I can't find any real info on Mick's Meats either - it's mentioned but in different suburbs.

When you look at the Video of Jamie getting into the car (in Arab Rd) it seems like houses across the road in the Video - unless my eyes are bad.

But in Maps it's all business units.

Am I not seeing it correctly?

Never mind - Arab Road is one of those roads this is cut off halfway and then starts again - there is a section that has houses.

Bit confused as one of the news stations showed the corner of Arab and Stuart - which is the industry end of the street.

Just some observations from an outsider ('merican) looking in.

1. Did not know corruption was so rampant in LE down under.
2. Storage facilities are used for drug deals there. We use ours for storing our excess stuff.
3. 'Cannot confirm or deny' is universal for :cow:
4. This Roger Dodger guy should be in a retirement home, not arranging drug deals.
5. Gao could have been an informant, in over his head or a wannabe gang banger.
6. Ironic that Mr. Dodger's attorney was indignant about how LE arrested his client. Someone call a waaaambulance.
:boohoo:
7. Did not know corruption was so rampant in LE down under. Had to say it twice, because I really did not know this.

Look forward to more details being released. Thanks to all for the updates.
