In keeping an open mind and not ruling out anything.

A question which i think everyone would like to know the answer is:

Who\When (Before Borce) was the last person\s and at what time, to see Karen?

Could someone who has the information at their fingertips tell me the dates the caveat over the Oakley Drive property came into force and when it was removed, please?

You can look up and purchase the details at the link below. If you do intend purchasing the document, IMO it would not be appropriate to post the details here, but check with a mod anyway.

The sticking point for me with Karen's disappearance being voluntary, in any way, is that she would have given up her future. Her future as a mother, and mother-in-law, and grandmother. Divorces can be had, so can bankruptcies, stepsons can be challenged or ignored. But to give up on her offspring is really difficult for me to fathom.

On top of those thoughts, I also question why she would slip away and do whatever voluntary action she may have taken after a heated argument? Why not slip away during lunch break at work, or after work, or when she was going shopping?
Surely an argument does not trigger an immediate response such as going into hiding or ending your life? ... which could lead to you being discovered before you have achieved your aim.

I posted a few pages back about the large percentage of suicides that are impulsive, decided within a few minutes to an hour of the action being taken. Crises like arguments can be a trigger.

I too find it hard to believe that a meticulously planned "new start" would happen just after a heated argument.
If the family is complicit, we don't really know when Karen disappeared, or whether there was an argument; or whether, if there was an argument, it happened immediately before her exit. Perhaps the described argument happened on another occasion when Karen walked out to cool down. It's sometimes easier to maintain a consistent lie if it's based on truth but translated in time.

What if the numbers were down because she hadn't been banking any cash? He starts to pay attention, she knows if he looks into the account details he will see the only incomings are electronic, and so she decides it is best to go then? In this scenario I imagine just the agro of dealing with finances and the recriminations are a big part of what she is wanting to escape from.

This has been done for thousands of years........

I think that is important info they have that they haven't released and why? In other cases the last independent witnesses are generally revealed. Does this mean they are satisfied Karen was alive and well close to 10am on June 29th and at home? Digital footprint, a phone call from her home phone, someone else aside from Borce saw her there?

It's good to see WBsers looking in different directions as there's no new information to hand.
Looking at the information we have and with more members expressing their views, may bring
something up not previously considered.

There is one angle we haven't considered.

You don"t know me!!

:floorlaugh:

I was waiting for it.

So I had to.

Seriously, I've seen so many mobile phones be the undoing of a murderer.

I've been waiting for someone to turn off their victim's phone.

I think Karen's is the first.

@ scott Kam Alien? Some mornings feel like one :)

Im assuming Karen worked the day of 28th?

But haven't seen it reported, though that would be known to authorities.

So they may have the presumed idea that she was at home? Since work finished that day?

This is where the CCTV comes in, but seems as yet not able to provide any footage.

Still holding hope that there may be cctv footage somewhere in the vicinity and it hasn't been viewed or missed.

I don't think she planned to disappear - until 10 days before she did.

Im still considering the possible scenario that Karen may have met with foul play on the walking track.

Some discount this as a baseless theory, soley on the reasoning that Police haven't put out a specific safety warning for the area.

IMO to limit thinking based soley on Police not putting out an official warning is presumptuous.
It may very well be Police at this stage are not entirely aware what has taken place themselves.

They appear to be open to tips from the public.....

Re: searching the river near the Anglers Tavern, yet the caravan and Maniquinn was set up on the main road bordering East Keilor and Avondale Heights.....the geographical distance between both is significant IMO as it suggests that they (police) are not fixed on a solid theory so far and are keeping all their options open.

The Bike trails and walking trails in Melbourne's north have had too many cases of assaults, attempted assaults, attempted abductions for many many years. I have seen a few of these mentioned on the Vic Police FB page, but can't ever recall a statewide campaign to advertise warnings to the public.

A quick google search with key words such as "attack, Melbourne's north, bike trail, walking track" can lead you to many many stories of attacks/assaults.

One 20 minute search the other night....I came across the following (sorry not links but have ref sources)

April 22nd 2013 Maribrynong, woman assaulted punched in face and pushed into grassland (The Age)
Sept 10th 2013 33yr old who attacked 10 woman along Darebin Creek Bike paths sentenced (ABC News)
Nov 12th 2014 Police hunt for sex attacker after series of assaults in inner city, Maribyrnong, East keilor
* -East Keilor is the neighbouring suburb to Avondale Heights. One of these attacks was
on a walking trail. (The Age)
April 26th 2016 Sexual attack on Bike path in Melbournes inner North (The Age)

Above are just a few examples ...... it almost seems these trails (in general) are like magnets to predators.

Not in the north...but another example...Masa Vukotic murdered along Koonung Creek Trail last year...... then this year....same trail another lady is assaulted on April 26th 2016.

The recent Australian article seems to allude that the river has been searched.

That is true for one small section off the river about 3km from where Karen was last mentioned to have been(or thought posibly to have been)......but an extensive search with sofisticated sonar and side sonar equipment of the entire length of the river say 3km east of her home and 3km west of her home has not happened......why?

I am thinking this basically comes down to finaces and managing budgets of man hours and resources.....unless they can specifically state a solid reason for thinking she is in the river, then the river simply will not be searched thoroughly.

IMO it is a valid option or scenario that she has met with foul play, been robbed of her purse and pushed into the river and subsequently drowned, and given the current coldness of the river her body has simply not resurfaced, needing water temperatures to be at 3.3 degrees or higher for that to take place.

This is not my fixed opinion of what has happened to Karen, simply one option amongst the others being discussed here.

The Stranger theory is one line of inquiry i dont think the police can rule out at all.

As puggle stated there has been quite a few incidents In Melbourne's North but not confined to that area entirely.

There more sickos out there than there used to be, i wonder if are there enough resources to effectively monitor.

There was that mention of a man that harrased a local walker on the trail a few weeks before Karen went missing. ....the same article where locals said they are now fearful in using the walking trail.

I believe he was thought to have been identified, spoken to and deemed not related to Karens disapperance.

I haven't been able to confirm this by any msm articles or police media.... but regardless if this is true........it goes further to back up, what is pretty obvious....there are people that frequently use these types of locations to engage in antisocial behaviour.

<Snipped for brevity>.

I agree Puggle (don't fall off your chair :)). I keep thinking about the Jaidyn Leskie case where little Jaidyn's body was thrown into a large dam in June 1997. His tiny body eventually surfaced in January 1998. His body had been preserved by the cold waters of the dam through winter. I fear something similar may have happened to Karen. Not at 10:30am on they day she disappeared though. I'm leaning more to the night before.
