Ohhh so sad ... I never knew about the mail being stopped in Lorrin case.

Is there a thread here for her?.... Can someone post me a link if there is....I am super hopeless finding my way around here.

Puggle xx

Here you are, Puggle:

It was very strange that her laptop was missing.

I often think about Lorrin (even though I forgot her name in one of my earlier posts, her situation has left me baffled) ... I really hope she comes home safely soon.

I've noticed a lot of clothing shop workers wearing the clothes from the store..... sheeshh...I don't know...maybe they change when they get into work.

They could do that, to show off their shops own designs.

Wouldn't surprise me.

and for all the naysayers...saying this couldn't be because the clothing would then be basically second-hand....

when you think about it...How many other people have tried on an article of clothing in a store before you ultimately buy it.

ohhh... now her laptop is missing too (lorrins)... boy have I been slow....

Thank You Makara and Pepper....

I truly must be forum dyslexic .... as I cant find these things...

(BBM)

Heaps of retailers do it - Ezibuy and Farmers (NZ Department store) to name just one example - some of (not all) the exact same clothes that Ezibuy are selling under their 'Capture' label are the ones that Farmers are selling under their 'Ella J' label. They used to be quite clever by offering only certain colours in each range (so it wasn't as obvious), but just lately it's all same-old - maybe the respective companies' buyers are getting lazy or something.

But for a fashionista trying to make her mark on the world, maybe it's an affordable and easy way to get their brand out there?

And adding an extra layer of intrigue to Lorrin's case is that she attended the same school as the Claremont killing victims ... there was speculation somewhere that because she'd reverted back to her maiden name someone may have tracked her down in recent times - ugh; too horrible to think of.

But it would be fantastic if all the fantastic people here could keep Lorrin's case fresh in their minds because someone, somewhere must know where she is.

These missing women are such a concern ... people can't just disappear like this without a trace! Ugh!!! Lorrin, Karen and Natasha - please come home!

Probably shop workers get a big discount on the clothes as an incentive to model them instore. I know one sales lady who says she has a huge collection of beautiful frocks from her store, and she's told her husband that when she dies . . . she wants them all buried with her.

I had also thought Karen might wear the minimal black outfit to the store, and slip into a store-based item when she got there. But these items would be like a personal uniform, not for subsequent sale.

Hi Pepper, it was me who didn't think Karen would wear those clothes the mannequin is wearing, to work! Do we know if she was even scheduled to work that day? Is it possible she had the day off--leave (?) Or rang in sick (?) I just can't remember if any of the articles mentioned she had to work that particular day she went missing!

I think someone from the shop phoned the house when Karen didn't arrive for work, so I'd say she was expected to be there.

Thanks, Oz Jen. Hmmm, BR was waiting for her to return home after going for a walk at 10am that morning. Yet, an employee phoned because Karen had not shown up at work. Something is definitely not adding up. Employees very rarely, if ever, phone their boss to see why they have not turned up for work. I mean, they're the BOSS for petes sake, they don't have to answer to anyone. It's normally the other way around, isn't it? Wonder who the employee was who rang and more importantly, what time did they ring.

Hi UT I'm not 100% sure as I can't find the article that mentioned it. It was early on in the investigation and of course msm may have incorrectly reported this as fact at the time.

If it is true, I share your question about what time the employee phoned and to whom - and then how long after that phone call the police were notified.

I don't find it strange that an employee would phone to see where their boss was, especially in a small business. They may have had a friendship as well as a working relationship.

No worries! Pretty sure if it's mentioned in an article, we'll come across it again at some stage. Good point about Karen and employee having a friendship as well as a working relationship...I never thought of that. If that's the case, she'd worry alright, especially if Karen didn't show up for work that day. (She (the employee) was more than likely to be privy to alot more personal info if they had a friendship and when Karen didn't show up for work she phoned to see if everything was alright. Yep, can totally see that happening.)

Missing Toorak woman Natasha Polevoy has been located safe and well after she was reported missing a week ago.

It does make me wonder if Karen has done something similar. Someone apparently saw her getting into a bus, yet nothing further has been mentioned about this. I also find it interesting that police were initially treating Karen's case as a homicide but a police spokesman later said it was still being treated as a missing person's case.

It could be that the employee phoned looking for Karen because there was something happening at the store that Karen needed to be present for ... maybe a new supplier showing off their wares or something like that? ... She could've even asked someone to stop by the store that morning and then when they did, and Karen wasn't around, that prompted the employee to call looking for her?

No, they get an allowance and have to wear the clothes from that store, a friend of mine worked at Alannah Hill and got a budget of $3,500 for clothes, I can't remember if that was for the year or each season, regardless it wasn't enough to cover what she needed.

Taking some time out over the last few days ive had a chance to think over some points ive had not entirely considered.

From the outset im not privvy to AR's FB posts, so over the whole time i haven't been swayed by this.

Without any of the FB posts there is the MSM articles to consider. AR has gone to the media in the first place?

Most had quessed he'd been in prison before he admitted it in the 2nd interview.

Interesting a self confessed Ice addict on the front page and every other day busting an Ice lab.

If i go with a theory that Karen walked out and was abducted or assaulted which may be probable.

Then in this respect i come back to AR and why he would come out and say what he as in MSM and FB?

Can this be confirmed?

Good spot OzJen.

They probably rang because they may have been wanting the 'til' money....... $850??

  • #378
Or possibly Karen was the one who closed the shop at the end of the day - gathered the day's EFTPOS receipts, took any cash for banking - and she didn't show. So the shop assistant called to see what to do.
I have wondered if the reported $850 may have been from shop sales for the previous day(s), and was scheduled to be deposited in the bank or likewise.

I think this is all that has been in the media. Presumably the shop called Borce, or Borce called the shop. The shop may have tried to call Karen multiple times, with no success.

The 47-year-old went missing about 10am on June 29 and concerns for her safety came after she didn’t show up to work at the Bella Bleu boutique at the Watergardens Town Centre in Taylors Lakes in Melbourne’s northwest.

Im also wondering if it was Karen that normally opened the shop at 9am?
and..... her employee called from their own mobile phone to see where she was because they could not get in? We dont know if she rang from within the store or not? And if the shop traded that day either.

Also, did SR actively ask for help to find her mum via a social media platform ie facebook. I never saw her page and don't know when she shut it down and if anything was there. Or if it was closed becuase of negative comments.
I would imagine she would loose alot of contact with friends/family and her mums friends (that Sarah wasnt friends with), that might want to contact her via facebook. What if Karen was taking time out or had said something to a friend and this friend is not able to connect with Sarah.
And what would be her reason for shutting it down her FB page? does she assume no one can help her b/c it is a family member?
