It looks like SouthAussie may be offline but to answer your question, if an article is behind a paywall it is against Websleuth's rules to copy and paste it here, The article can be paraphrased with the link included in your post. It's also against the rules to post any more than 10% of an article due to copyright restrictions.

Thanks, Makara.

Can someone confirm whether the search at Barmah National Park was conducted recently? It sounds like the police have conducted a search but I'm confused as to whether this was recently or earlier in the investigation?

The way the article reads, IMO Channel 7 was reporting on the culmination of the areas searched to date. No exact date was given for when the search took place in the Barmah National Park and it may well have been weeks ago. If it was very recent I would expect to see some form of video of the search in progress but there is nothing. Sometimes police will strategically release information via MSM and then play the watch, listen and wait game.

Karen Ristevski: Police search bushland for missing mother, reports say

Police have reportedly searched bushland along the Murray River to find missing Melbourne mother Karen Ristevski.

Police searched the Barmah National Park in Victoria's north - where the Ristevski family is believed to have holidayed - in addition to areas surrounding her Avondale Heights home, Channel 7 reports.

Victoria Police would not confirm the report or specify which areas had been searched.

"The missing persons squad has searched a number of areas," Sergeant Anthoula Moutis said.

"The investigation is still ongoing."

There is another Missing Persons case VICPOL have been trying to solve. That of Tej Chitnis, a 22 year old Deakin University student. The last confirmed sighting of Tej was in Healesville on the day he went missing, (27th April 2016) there had been other possible sightings police have been unable to confirm.

Maybe police are searching Barmah National Park for him.

Looking at your map- the gates to Organ Pipes park close by nightfall ... I think the terrain there would be difficult. But plenty of open space around it. Similarly, no access to Brimbank after dark and I'd assume similar issues to being seen near where they live. That said I have been told bodies have been found in Woodlands Historic Park though, and I assume the same issue with the closed gates, so obviously this isn't an insurmountable problem. Arundale and Annandale, I would consider them reasonably well trafficked. Open land, but plenty of through traffic, not isolated. That said so is Oaklands Junction ... I am being too picky.

I'm thinking Lerderderg could be a contender though I'll be frank, I have lived here all my life and no one has ever mentioned going there, without looking at the map I would draw a blank about the place personally ... maybe because people drive up to Macedon instead?

The map I made was based on two different scenarios/two different subjects. Using my very limited knowledge of Geographical Profiling .... but one that I am super interested in and have read as much about as I can.

Having grown up in the area gives a little local knowledge that I can add to that Geo Profile..... its not an exact science... but I have seen it used and sometimes it can be pretty well close on the mark.

The area need not be dependant on night to be a cover. Many people are disposed during the day..

Having a better timeline would certainly be more helpful though...

ETA: Lol...the locals should visit the gorge...its beautiful. ......but have to watch the snakes... thought it was a stick...No ruddy snake in the water eeekkkk...

Now I'll throw a spanner into it...

I don't think Borce has hurt Karen...

I could be a 1000% wrong.....

but Im just not getting anything... that he has done anything..... even stranger I feel empathy and understanding for all his reactions .... Visually noted in media.... reported in paper media..

Grief, denial.... now anger

Feel kinda naked and alone...lol...

But the map is definately my thoughts on places if I am wrong ..... and murder has taken place at the hands of either two subjects.

Agreed - I am thinking what I would do which is go to a truly isolated spot! They don't necessarily do that!

O/T I went to google about woodlands historic park after I wrote that comment and couldn't find anything, have you heard of anything being found there?

Haven't had the chance to catch up reading on here but just seen there will be a story about Karen tommorrow night on ACA.
Paraphrase
ACA investigation into KR's stepson's ugly grab for cash demanding hundreds of thousands of dollars to tell his story about his relationship with missing mum which he says is the biggest story in the country.

No never heard of anything there..... and would be sort of suprised if that spot was chosen by anyone.

Not that it should be ruled out completely. ... but Im thinking no one would enter airport side as a local knows there are always people at the veiwing area (for planes coming in)....the entrance off Somerton is always possible... that road can be quite during the day...but the area is quite open (visable) in that it doesnt have alot of ground vegetation. ...plenty of twisted trees...
wouldn't be high on my list though.

*hands Puggs a towel and gives her a hug* You're neither naked nor alone bub. I'm not convinced BR murdered Karen either. There are two other POIs IMO. We shall see and if we're wrong, we can streak across the thread together.

Not the one in Moonee Ponds, the one by the airport?

I'm with you guys too, but then again this is all too confusing and boring at times that im constantly changing my mind.

But I don't think he did anything to her.

I realllllllly want to know if AR is telling the truth about their "relationship", i know he's in lala land 99% of the time but that's what i would love to have it confirmed. This would tell us what type of person she really is and if it makes sence that she wore the pants and controlled the marriage etc.

I also believe like others that the family know much more than being released. Hopefully this is the week, although this is all interesting, im so over it. I just want some proper information!!!

I don't know if this will be of any help Puggles. Using Google Earth I drew out a 20km radius from Oakley Drive. Statistics have shown that a body will usually be dumped within a 20km radius of the scene of the murder. I've read this so many times in various books etc. so I don't have a link. It does make sense though. A murderer, any murderer would be under some type of time constraint when trying to dispose of a body. Anyway I hope it triggers more of your sleuthing skills in this area. I don't know this part of Melbourne at all, so I'm a bit lost.
