Karen's father is deceased and she had no step-father that is 100% correct. Both her mother & father passed away and were married happily together for 40 plus years.

Yes strange to say that because it is the 'speculation' that is going to find KR and the perpetrator.

I think she means that it is painful for her and her family to speculate about the meaning of both Karen's and Borce's phones pinging in that area after Karen disappeared.
If Karen has disappeared at the hands of a perpetrator, and if that perpetrator is the person who is supposed to love, care for, and protect her, that would be very painful to think about.

Evil stranger could have taken Karen Ristevski, says husband

Andrew Jefferson, Herald Sun
August 28, 2016 11:13pm

THE family of missing Melbourne woman Karen Ristevski believe she may have fallen victim to a random stranger abduction.

It is understood that husband Borce has told family members that the 47-year-old could have been snatched by an evil predator.

It can also be revealed that Mrs Ristevski was discussing borrowing money from her father to pay an outstanding debt in the days before she vanished on June 29.

In other developments, a shovel found at the $1.1 million Avondale Heights Ristevski family home has undergone forensic testing.

And detectives searching for the missing mum in Melbourne’s northwest have examined CCTV cameras from the Toolern Vale General Store and taken footage from 60 cameras at two BP service stations at Calder Park.

Police have also combed the same road where murdered Irish woman Jill Meagher was found. Residents of Black Hill Rd, where Ms Meagher’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in September 2012, say police on trail bikes were spotted scouring the 10km road linking Diggers Rest to Gisborne South.

Mr Ristevski, 52, told police he was driving his wife’s 2004 Mercedes-Benz to a garage to fix a faulty fuel gauge before the fault corrected itself and he returned home.

Mobile phone data indicated that Mr Ristevski’s phone was switched off for 2½ hours on the day she vanished.

Mr Ristevski is understood to have told police to direct all further inquiries over his wife’s disappearance to his solicitors, Stary Norton Halphen.

BBM: Weren't we told by a family member that Karen's father was deceased?

BBM

IF the report of driving to a garage is correct, surely it would make more sense to take the Merc to a specialist service centre rather than going for a trip down the Calder.

Yes, or has a strong enough suspicion to speak like this. She is clearly furious with BR.

I agree, PG definitely distancing herself from BRs family. This rift will no doubt help Police in their investigations.

If they are forensically examining a shovel from the house then the police know very well what has happened. They just need to find her :(

Karen's father is deceased and she had no step-father that is 100% correct. Both her mother & father passed away and were married happily together for 40 plus years.

So, if she was arranging to borrow money, who could it have been from?

Or maybe this is just another bit of info being thrown in by someone to muddy the waters? Like her heading overseas on a fake passport perhaps? When did we last hear from VR?

Just want to take this opportunity to say, thank you, Steve. Your input on this thread is greatly appreciated.

To me, it sounds as if the info about Karen speaking about borrowing money came from her aunt, as it is grouped in with the stuff the aunt said, in the article - and is then followed by 'other developments'.
Perhaps Herald Sun got the potential loaner wrong, or perhaps Karen's aunt did not want to reveal who the potential loaner was, so just said father (could have been a fatherly figure).

The point she made to me, and perhaps others, is that there were financial difficulties, that Karen needed to do something about the financial difficulties, so perhaps Borce saying their argument was not about financial issues was a bit of a porky pie.

The new theory comes amid fears from Karen’s aunt that her niece has been murdered and “discarded like a piece of rubbish”.

Yes that is saddest and most heartbreaking part in such cases

I just asked one of our Engineers about the fuel gauge (not that I believe it either) - however it is possible it can be rectified going over a bump.

I posted back thread that a loose connection or corrosion can cause it. So, I guess it's possible. Where in the hell would he hit a bump hard??

A fire trail or a dirt road?

It's possible I suppose, SA.

Apparently not, according to Steve Richardson (family friend)

"THE family of missing Melbourne woman Karen Ristevski believe she may have fallen victim to a random stranger abduction".

Would be interesting to know exactly who 'the family' is referring to as I don't think for a minute any extended family believe that to be the situation. Abduction I could envisage but that's leaving the 'random stranger' out.
Also be interested to see how BR came to this riveting conclusion.

I wonder if they've looked in the Organ Pipes National Park which is right on the opposite side of the highway to that Motor sport complex. Maybe there was no mobile reception in there and that's why her phone stopped.

I looked at Organ Pipes National Park too, WWGY. 29th June was in the first week of the Victorian school holidays and the Park appears to be a popular place for picnics etc so I think there may have been too many people around.

I'm interested in the Boral quarry in Bonnie Vale Road, Bacchus Marsh, via the Calder and Diggers Rest. (47 minutes by car from Avondale Heights.)

Most of the quarry has security fencing but there seems to be an area leading up to it that is unfenced. A very isolated spot.

She could have arranged for someone to pick her up. Someone who's not had the courage to come forward (yet). Maybe that someone has something to do with her disappearance. I keep going back to the (bus) sighting that was reported earlier on when she first disappeared. I dont know why either cause it was checked out but we were told it wasn't KR. It's still bugging me though. *shrugs*

Yes, I considered this too UT. Not the sighting of Karen getting on a bus though. 'Eyewitness' accounts are notoriously inaccurate.

Unless 'The Mechanic' was a friend up that way who helped to fix things.

Also taken soil samples from two of the family's cars.
