I wonder if the people are waiting to do an arrest until after the funeral? Are watching for how certain people act etc? Remember old mate Baden Clay the police bugged the flowers hoping he would say something.

It must be hard for the police if they have someone they want to arrest and they are waiting for the last piece to tie it all together. Im sure there will be some people who shouldn't be at that service.
BBM: I think so too, but none of them came out and publicly stated they would have liked to kill Karen..only one person said that and for that, he has no right to be there, none whatsoever, in my opinion.

Personally, I think it's going to be, what shall I call it, extremely uncomfortable (?) for several people who attend. It's going to be very awkward for some. I feel so bad for those who truly loved Karen. :(

No doubt the police will continue to observe all with interest. Who will the pallbearers be? Who will be crying real tears and who crocodile tears? Who will be sitting apart from whom and who will be casting sideways eyes at whom? I agree, a most uncomfortable funeral to attend. Among those present may be Karen's killer or someone who helped dispose of her.

I was actually wondering if the police would be allowed to be at the funeral - as it is deemed to be private, which means only invited guests are allowed. And with Borce and Sarah refusing to cooperate with police, and wary of any tracking/recording/listening devices that may have been employed on phones, cars, etc - they may have been 'advised' to disallow police attendance.

Which would be a real shame for the police who have been working hard on this case and would like to show their respect to Karen at her funeral.

I don't think that even the police can gatecrash a private funeral, if they are not invited. Unless, of course, they planned to arrest someone there, which I doubt they would do as they generally show great respect at this kind of affair.

Though, if Karen's birth family are paying for the funeral, they would of course invite the relevant detectives and police officers, I would think. Seems to be no animosity among that side of the family and the police.

Has anyone found an obituary or funeral notice yet? I am not seeing anything out there at the moment.

Quite a few bars within walking distance of St Johns, might have a little drive by Monday arvo.

Been checking all the papers around here everyday and not one notice anywhere. I do know the herald sun classifieds won't publish any notices until the official family one is released first also which in itself is just bizarre.

St. John's is also only a small church and terrible parking around there.

Thanks to everyone for keeping Karen's thread updated. I'm travelling around Oz and have just crossed the Nullarbor. I'm currently in Esperance and my wifi connection is a bit iffy to say the least but I can still manage to read the thread, it just takes twice as long to do so.
I am so relieved that Karen has been found and can now be layed to rest with dignity.

SA...Maybe it will appear tomorrow or on Monday as it's only been reported in the media today...then again, they may have decided not to bother to place one, due to the public interest and sensitivity around the case.

First time poster, but have been following from the start.

Im not surprised that no one has put anything in the newspaper. If KRs side of the family suspects BR then it would be a very tense funeral. For SRs sake I hope media stays away as I don't believe she is involved

so does anyone think there may be an arrest this weekend?

Oh don't worry the media will be there the police will be there, I think it will be a very tense atmosphere. Tensions will be high, emotions will be high, I don't think it will be pleasant. It could end up worse if certain individuals turned up. No don't think I would like to be there.

do you think the police feel that any additional information, or useful observations may be gathered at the funeral
