Does that mean she hasn't been present in the courtroom for the entire trial?? I didn't realise that. Has she just been 'dropping him off' at court?

Yes, it would seem that SL was 'dropping him off' at court. As I said in an earlier post, SL was SG's handbag. All staged and choreographed, to the point that sometimes they looked like they were actually holding hands in a dance move. I expected SL to take a dip and twirl at any minute!

I don't feel sorry for SL. She has put herself out there front and centre every day while SG's female relatives walk five paces behind him. She got her 15 minutes of fame and I bet she checks out all of the photos of herself every day.

"Ms Louise sat in the public gallery for the first time during the trial and used a tissue to blow her nose and dab her eyes before she started furiously texting on her mobile phone."

Oh Puh-lease! :banghead:

The person I do feel terribly sorry for is Lisa's mother. What she must be going through is incomprehensible, and to see SL parading around with SG every day must turn her stomach. I'm wondering if she has any friends or family in Australia, or is she here on her own?

Does anyone know roughly how long we can expect the judge to deliberate on this case before returning with a verdict? :seeya:

Isis, I read somewhere that it could be weeks. I'll see if I can find the link.

Looking through a few other cases, one that comes to mind is Lloyd Rayney trial which was also a judge alone trial.

October 21, 2012

Supreme Court Justice Brian Martin has given himself less than two weeks to deliberate on the murder case that has puzzled West Australians for more than five years. On November 1, Justice Martin is expected to deliver his verdict on whether Mr Rayney killed his wife, Corryn

I wonder why they decided not to call on RL to give evidence?

Seriously Jamie, what could she bring to the table? At best she would've been a character witness and the fact that she is SG's 'girlfriend', she would only have nice things to say about him. From what I've read, RL didn't even know Lisa.

At the risk of sounding like a petty female, RL where is your hair straightener girl! Has it been raining in Sydney?

Hey, I like her hair in that photo, it looks like mine does every day :blushing: I reckon it gives her a softer look too, maybe that was the intent?

I just had a horrible thought.

What if RL actually IS in a genuine relationship with SG?? I just assumed she was 'hired' for PR purposes but she is looking increasingly emotional and vulnerable.......maybe she genuinely cares for SG.

If so, that is really sad and I feel concern for her. Unfortunately these guys are always able to attract women whose issues match up neatly with their own. eg. believing a man controls you if he really loves you etc etc.....

I've also noticed that it is often the women like RL - and Lisa - who are impeccably groomed and spend a lot of time on their appearance who often have low self-esteem. It seems contradictory as they are physically gorgeous, but I have seen that repeatedly. An inordinate amount of focus on the outside does not necessarily mean a happy inside!! Overcompensation. JMO

I think they may have an intimate relationship, 'friends with benefits', with the extra benefits of publicity for her and PR for him. Personally, I don't believe she was hired. I doubt there is a marriage proposal on it's way though. But like women are apt to do, she's probably invested more than she intended, so I think her emotion is genuine.

He must be spewing that he has a female judge

That's very funny!! :floorlaugh:

Unfortunately, it was a woman who let him out on bail in the first place.

This 🤬🤬🤬 was arrested in August 2011, and was out on bail in January 2012, thanks to Magistrate Janet Wahlquist.

He has spent 16 months … 1⅓ years … out on bail, doing what he wants, going where he wants, having his freedom – thanks to her.

Let’s hope Justice Lucy McCallum sees the picture a lot more clearly, and speaks loudly for Lisa and all the abused, demeaned, controlled women around Australia.

It's just still so suspicious isn't it?........still reeks of friends in high places to me.

I wonder if the cameras did actually record what happened and he only told the police, the day Lisa died, that they weren't working?. I wouldn't put anything past that shady character. imo

"Before the judge's decision, he was recalled to the witness stand for cross-examination by crown prosecutor Mark Tedeschi QC.

Gittany has denied taking the hard drive to his computer out of their apartment on the night after Harnum died.

The court has previously heard he installed security cameras in the home and the drive was capable of recording footage from them."

Magistrate Janet Wahlquist was the one who went for the ballerina leap over the balcony enclosure crapola. And the she had bulimia, she must have committed suicide story.

Despite the fact that his previous violence toward Lisa had been mentioned.

"Magistrate Janet Wahlquist found that Mr Gittany had a strong argument in his defence against the murder charge and that this was an "exceptional circumstance" that meant he was entitled to bail.
The magistrate also found Mr Gittany had strong ties in the community and was not a risk of absconding, given that his family had offered to pay a $600,000 surety"

Also ...

"She also expressed concern that Gittany would be in custody for a long time before a Supreme Court jury trial." :waitasec:

Makes me wonder if a magistrate should be allowed to make these kind of decisions in a murder trial that is going to be tried in Supreme Court. :scared:

(In a back-handed way, it is almost as if she was saying that the police arrested him on a whim IMO)

"Gittany was recalled this morning to give further evidence on a hard drive that was kept in the ceiling of his apartment in the exclusive CBD Hyde building.

Senior Crown Prosecutor put to Gittany, 40, that he was "lying" when he told his family on the night of Lisa's death that he hoped the cameras he installed in the apartment "were working."

"You knew perfectly well that the cameras were switched off ...(telling your family that) was a lie wasn't it?" Mr Tedeschi asked.

"Absolutely not," Gittany replied."

I wonder whether the hard drive was "kept" in the ceiling of the flat at all times while he recorded her movements, or whether he placed it there around the time of Ms Harnum's death to conceal it from police. Did the prosecution test the hard drive the IT guy brought to Court last week?

Hey Theodora ... thanks for joining us!

I'm sure I have read that there were two hard drives. One that was evident, and one that was concealed in the ceiling. I don't think he handed either to police.

I just read it today or yesterday ... going to have to look for the link ....
