Absolutely chilling thought FigTree!! Would not surprise me at all if he'd told her he'd throw her over the balcony if she tried to escape.

She was terrified, she knew what he was capable of ... I wouldn't be surprised if he'd dragged her to the balcony edge in the past .. even lifted her to show her he meant business ... told her no-one would believe it wasn't suicide so she better do as she was told .... only this time he actually did it, due to her adamant stance, his uncontrollable rage and him thinking he could get away with it.

In a funny way I think that is the exact behaviour that attracts controllers - and the same behaviour which they see as needing control over. It attracts and repulses - its the challenge - and when the submission process is complete the controller feels they have 'won' the prize (something that others may want but cant have) - control and complete devotion.
They rely on their past 'complaints and concerns' about the controlled person to place the blame squarely on the victim. They wonder how the victim could do this to them (they say this to others), while wanting to quickly discipline the controlled back into submission - shut them up - demean them into altering their confessions - or threaten them in some manner.
No one tells a controller that they are leaving. You just go - and make sure its a long, long way away - you are surrounded by people that know you and know the truth.

I hope Ms Loiuse has good friends down the track.
and I hope that there has been no mention of 'I'll wait for you'.

FigTree I just wanted to go back to your post. All jokes I have made about RL aside, I hope she isn't deeply involved, and if she is I hope she is planning on walking away and has family and friends to support her.

His defense is exactly as you outlined above - all of the things he tried so hard to control, he is now blaming for her death. The 'past complaints and concerns' nails it right on the head - to shift the focus from his own actions to Lisa's.

I just read through all of the tweets, thank you everyone for posting them, absolutely brilliant closing statements. I look forward to reading the media reports. The only thing I haven't seen mentioned yet was the hard drive? (maybe this could turn into an additional charge?)

Surely with his behavioural history towards her this is an open and shut case.

Anyway. I was just thinking that this would have to be one of the most horrific murders in Australian history? To throw anyone alive over a 15th story balcony is pure evil and far worse than other quicker methods of murder. Hard to understand how anyone could do that to anyone, even an animal.

He better pay.
