Sorry if this has already been discussed. Does anyone know if the neighbour that heard screams and saw the door shaking, actually did anything about it? Iv'e been thinking that even a knock at their door or yelling out 'do you need the police?' or 'I'm calling the police', might have been enough to snap him out of his blind rage. I realize that none of us really know how we would respond in such a situation, and maybe stepping in goes against our natural instinct to protect ourselves. Looking at the situation now, after the fact, if the neighbour had stepped in, I don't believe they would have been in any danger. His rage was all directed at Lisa. I think if they had knocked or yelled out, he would have instantly known there are witnesses and he might have stopped. I'd like to think now if I ever hear anything that sounds like a person needs help, I will do something!
I'm not exactly sure, but from most of the media coverage, it appears that the neighbour testified that someone was banging on the door, that she heard "Please help me - Oh God help me" (or words to that effect) and that she heard scream(s), but I haven't read anywhere that there was any action taken. If there were - you would think that the media would've reported it by now ? IMO.
