IMO Lyn would have enrolled as a part-time correspondence mature student at University of New England in Psychology. So no need for Controlling Chris to worry about her fraternising with young people her own age.
Her study was after she left Chris. It certainly wasn't while she was in Queensland.

But one of the earlier posts said that Chris used to help her with her studies.

As a Degree in Psychology takes six years part-time, I would like to suggest that Joanne could have begun her studies while in the marriage (with Chris helping) then she could have continued her studies during separation and divorce. She probably just took out her Bachelor of Arts Degree so she is not really a Psychologist as that requires four years of study but good enough to get the job she has now working in a refuge.

has anybody noticed or have an explanation of why page 5 is missing from inquest 2 pdf?

it goes from page 4 ending with talking about lyns perspective and starts a neighbours account but then it cuts to page 6 where chris speaks with "miss leary" at the shopping centre and tells her lyn has written to him saying shes in qld.

every sentence of that doc is dissection worthy!! lmao

Good point as far as Joanne. I do wonder if the kiosk girls would have recognised Lyn's voice. Don't know how often she went to the baths. Maybe Chris's part time job was only in school holidays. More than likely only the summer.

That's an interesting theory.

Just to add .... I don't mean to insinuate that Joanne was intentionally complicit in the coverup of Lyn's disappearance/alleged murder, it could be that Chris said "when you call me at the baths, just pretend that you are Lyn - if they ask who is calling - so that the kiosk workers don't wonder what is going on. Just trying to protect you, my sweet girl".

I get the feeling - in his strange way at least - that Chris Dawson may genuinely loved Joanne, and that when she left him he may actually have been as heartbroken as he claimed.

Hmmm. Love .... or obsession?

If someone is in love with you, they trust you. They want you to be the best version of yourself and only want good things for you. That includes giving you space when you need it.
On the other hand, someone who is obsessed with you will be jealous and possessive. They won’t like the idea of you growing as a person, or having any independence, lest you meet someone else and leave them.
Love and obsession are two different things -- here's how to tell them apart

That's a question that the Prosecutor should ask Joanne at the trial.

Why is it a red flag?

Crown Prosecutor, Craig Everson seemed to be able to stir the emotions of Chris Dawson last Friday from tears to anger so let's hope he is successful in refusing bail on Monday.

I think that he will make bail, but I hope not to live with his partners in crime.
I would like them to insist that he stays in Sydney and reports every day.
Maybe Joanne, with her social work experience can recommend a cheap boarding house for him.

he knows all the local garbage depots...
how they work....
how they run.....
how to dispose of something no longer valuable to you.....

I don’t have the link at hand so MOO but I believe the court said if Chris was to Be released it was to be into the care of his third wife Sue.

If I was a Garbo and inclined to off someone, my knowledge of how so much garbage is destroyed on mass by mechanical means would be helpful. I’m sure he would have been aware of what security measures where in place ie scanning, cameras etc.

I hope Chris Dawson does not get bail tomorrow because he is a flight risk due to his being Paul's twin. He could use Paul's passport to leave Australia. The court cannot really take Paul's passport away from him. I do not agree that Chris should be allowed to live in a different state either.

The issue is not even the twins can tell each other apart when looking in a mirror, how could passport officers? They said so in the Chequerboard program.

“Quite often, you will see a reflection of yourself and straight away you think, ‘ha, it’s the other one, it’s the twin brother’,” one of the twins tells the interviewer.

“Of course, on realisation, it’s obviously yourself, you sort of have a little chuckle that you could be confused. Our whole lives really are a mirrored reflection each other.”

Strange world of the Dawson twins

Has anyone heard from Paul since Chris was arrested? Peter has been active in the media.

Unfortunately for Chris they don’t look so alike. Chris struggles to walk. Has arthritis in his hands and their faces are now so different. In saying that it may be enough to get through airport security

This was the early 1980s. I am pretty sure there would have been no cameras at that point in time.

yes exactly c&l
exposure to dump routines.
when I was a kid we didn't get kerbside disposal where we lived not sure anymore don't have a need to frequent these places but they used to at designated times bury the rubbish and start new holes then fill...cover with soil and do it all over again.
throwing a body into a dump pit of rubbish ready for burial would be the ideal location imo to off somebody. having inside connections to security etc is as I say a redflag for me.

@DRT no not likely cameras back then!
but whatever the security measures where in place he likely knew.

I would have thought, assuming they are still as close as they always have been, Paul could voluntarily surrender his passport while Chris was on bail.
