There is scheduled to be one at the end of each week of the trial and so far that has been the pattern. Expect the 3rd one after Friday.

We have reached the mid-point of the trial too. They said 5 weeks and we are two and a half weeks in.
Hi Cliff

I just checked and I believe it is around 8 weeks. "Mr Dawson has pleaded not guilty, with the trial expected to last for eight weeks"

Zero chance Chris Dawson takes the stand.

Paul & Marilyn would need to be dragged kicking and screaming to appear.
I don’t understand that PD and MD even get a choice to appear. They shouldn’t be allowed to. If this is the case, our justice system is a @#$$#@ joke and CD will walk again, free as a bird. If nothing else, What about carnal knowledge charges against PD and possible forgery charges against MD for starters?
How do some people sleep at night? Hope they all get the karma they deserve.

There is no way I can see that happening. They would have to be cross examined if they do. Statements such as driving up to Queensland alone have been made in the past. This would also apply to MD.

They didn't even turn up for the 2003 inquest as their brother represented them. They are unlikely to be giving evidence.

I think PD and MD are staying safely in Queensland. Where is TWIN 1 now.
I thought this also...no way..... he'd be such a fool, and there is no doubt in my mind that his barristers have told him in no uncertain terms that it would be the height of stupidity to even contemplate the idea. Like Baden-Clay , they would get him to sign an indemnifying clause ......

Yet...yet......This is Chris Dawson. He has a story to tell, he had a story then. I don't think he's changed his story he's told himself all these years. He has not given up and pleaded guilty, he is fighting this all the way. I am almost convinced that because it is the very stupidest thing he could do, he will do it. Previous behavior is indicative of future behavior... He has been cunning, suave, persuasive, manipulating, for a very long time now, and this is a last throw of the dice.

He isn't going to turn into Mr. Reasonable just in time for his trial.

And is it possible, that Dawson may be in it to take every one down? Paul, Marilyn, the big brother, various assistants, rugby pals, the odd copper here and there who propped them all up, .... a grandstand to knock out all grandstands gone before.....

He has requested, and received a judge only trial, for a specific purpose.. ...

Giving evidence at Dawson's murder trial on Thursday, the witness, referred to as BM, said that in 1980 she saw Dawson grab his wife by the arm and swing her into their daughters' bedroom.

"Lynette was also like a ragdoll because he was a lot bigger and as he grabbed her and swung her, she actually collected the doorframe with her shoulder and possibly her head," BM told the NSW Supreme Court.

It all goes from bad to worse

If this kind of abuse was happening in front of others, what was going on in private?

CD has been getting away with this story for a very long time. I think that there is a chance he will take the stand, to explain it all, like he has before. I hope

I'm sure I heard something in the prelude to this trial about being careful not to prejudice an upcoming case.

I suspect Chris Dawson and perhaps others will shortly be facing carnal knowledge charges/trials.

I hadn't realised before that CD had been so violent to Lynette, this is horrifying. For that alone, this "man" should be put away for years.

Its interesting watching the case for the prosecution getting stronger and stronger...

So far i think the evidence underlines that the accused, in the weeks/years leading up to Lyn's disappearance...
- no longer cared for or loved Lyn
- taunted Lyn
- had a tendency to resort to violence
- verballed on two occasions that he wanted to "get rid of" Lyn

...and after Lyn's disappearance...
- clearly didn't expect Lyn to return or knew she wasn't going to return
- didn't ask her friends and colleagues if they had heard from her
- moved his student whom he was having an affair with into the family home to live permanently only days after Lyn disappeared

...and there is a lot more damning evidence to come no doubt...

The house of cards is starting to fall for CD.

Wondering who the mystery witness will be next week?

Seeing very little that we didn't already know.

Gunna take a guess Lynette and Chris first born daughter.
At age 4 she is very capable of having vivid independant perspective and likely puzzle pieces.

She is very keen to find out what happened to her mother and does not have blinkers on concerning her father.

moo

I think you are right K-mac - one of his daughter's appears to have questions and perhaps she heard conversations after her mother disappeared when she was older that didn't make sense at the time but now do. MOO

Oh wow! If it is a daughter, it just might be the straw that breaks CD’s back and he finally confesses. For me, his 40 year silence shows lack of remorse for any of his actions. My only other suggestion would be the 3rd wife. I know she cannot be compelled to give evidence, but can volunteer if she wishes.

sorry tweet..but I dont think anything will break CD.

There is nothing for him in a confession.
Maybe a few years shaved off a sentence??
He is going for broke and a not guilty finding.

IMO.

Barbara Cruise opened the bank statement of LD when it arrived at the Warriwood Children's Day Care centre (after LD disappearance) : I dare say I would have done the same (I'd probably have photocopied it ;))

and, a day care work colleague had contacted the Ombudsmen about Lyn's disappearance (albeit 3 years later)

Annette Leary, who worked with Ms Dawson at the Warriewood Children's Centre in the early 1980s, told the court she had noticed bruises on her colleague's throat just days before she disappeared

Episode Three is up:

Dawson told the police he had lain awake at night crying his heart out waiting for his wife to call, and that he had still yearned for some contact even after starting his relationship with JC.

Not behind a paywall.

I know this isn't going to delight many people in this blog ... a little info about Robert Silkman. Apologies if this is a repeat post.
