I expected the next phases to be verdict and sentencing.
I wonder why they are a Mention and a Readiness Hearing. I thought (according to online definitions) that readiness hearings were to ensure everyone was ready for trial.
But as the appearances are on the next two Fridays, I guess we will find out soon.
I was assuming this was the Carnal Knowledge charge. The date being 2019 not 2018 when the other charges were.

This is the direct link. I searched for Christopher Michael Dawson. Alternatively you can search on case number which is 2019/00191658 and check for all available dates. If you search under his name you will get the last couple of days of the murder trial.

I wonder why The Teachers Trial have not put out a new episode yet ? Maybe they have to be very careful in reporting the defence case.

Chris #Dawson’s carnal knowledge trial has been delayed after a court heard the verdict in his murder case may not be delivered until September. His barrister also promoted to a judge. The 2nd trial relates to alleged illegal sex with his schoolgirl lover in 1980.

Time will tell what the verdict is in Chris Dawson's murder trial but the carnal knowledge matter should be a slam dunk.
Pauline David, on behalf of CD in the murder trial admitted CD was 'having an affair with JC', and as we know JC turned 18 AFTER Lyn disappeared.
Not sure how CD's plea in the carnal knowledge matter can be anything other than guilty?

It will be about when this occurred. A teacher relationship with a student at 17 legally there is nothing wrong in 1980. At 16 there was. The defence I assume will argue about timing. The offence is above 10 to less than 17. This is describe on page 5 of the PDF. So it is about offences occurring in 1980 and early 1981.

Huw Baker, William Fitzsimmons, and Pauline David are three lawyers who have been appointed to the New South Wales District Court.
NSW attorney-general Mark Speakman called each practitioner highly skilled.
“In carrying out their duties as District Court judges, they will each continue to draw on the considerable skill, experience and knowledge they have gained as lawyers, for the benefit of the court and the community it serves,” Speakman said.
