He just said that he wasn't there for his health, it was because it was a place that everyone was going to,
Yes he is really failing today thanks to Smiths non stop tactics!

For someone like him, a place where "everyone" went to could be rich pickings.

No. As this is an inquest and not a criminal trial, there is no verdict.

The purpose of this inquest is to determine if Marion is deceased and her movements surrounding her disappearance.

After today is over, the Coroner will take time to assess the evidence and will write her 'findings'. They will be published publicly, on the Coroners Court of NSW website. Not exactly sure how long that will take. As long as she needs I guess.

The Coroner has the ability to say if a certain person was involved in Marion's disappearance, but it holds no legal weight.

If a criminal case begins on this same matter, the verdict can be different to the findings of the Coroner.
Yes I think the Coroners Court can refer it back to the DPP with recommendations, Eg. To investigate further and lay charges. It doesn’t always result in charges though.

Yes similar situation to the William Tyrrell case

Thanks for the clarification. I have not participated in previous discussions on this topic (despite being an active member of this forum and this case on WS since 2019) but I do recall learning about the family history after the last sitting of the inquest. I do wish to note he said THE mother again yesterday, it’s something that you’d think he would make an active attempt to correct in circumstances where police and others have access to records on these topics. MOO.
I don’t believe he wants it corrected. He is if of a generation that is not proud to have been born out of wedlock. JMO
I have no sympathy for his wife, sorry.
i wasn’t talking about sympathy I’m simply stating what IMO is obvious the man is a controlling narcissist and considering she met him almost 50 years ago that would have to impact how she behaves

Well hopefully now she is starting to see the light...

return 8 March – 4 weeks in Belgium - stayed with my Aunt Lucy and Aunt MAGGIO - a name connected to Robert Coppenolle

Pulling names from his a**** today but the name Maggio has significance as that was the name of Robert Coppenolles wife - Deceased 10 November 2012 - Templeuve, Hainaut

- and Blum still has a "cousin" living in Tournai, Hainaut, Belgium

*if my theory is correct and I think it is.*

So what’s the final inquest report going to say?

- the police failed in their duties to search for a missing person and in their record keeping
- RB is an unreliable witness with a history of deceiving women, fraud and theft
- MB likely had some kind of relationship with RB prior to her disappearance.

Can they draw any other conclusions or is that as far as it goes?
Yes :) all of it. The findings are very thorough.

It takes you step by step through story and the victim's movements. Including the movements of people the victim came in contact with.

It will mention Sally going to police and some of their errors. Mistakes police make are usually picked up and circulated by media, so that part will get a lot of attention. Coroner can also make recommendations to improve police processes so this doesn't happen again. Hence why police have lawyer Burke is an integral part of the inquest.

Findings can definitely name the person who was likely to be involved in the death or disappearance.

The findings will need to state whether or not Marion is likely deceased. This will help Sally enormously because she can take all kinds of action from this. Legal action and others, such as Sally being Marion's benefactor and having more rights.

Sally, podcast and other media can also request the Coronial case files. That will each get what is relevant so long as it does not compromise the ongoing investigation with limits to what they can publish publicly.

The homicide squad will continue their investigation until they have sufficient evidence to make charges or the case becomes cold again.

Well hopefully now she is starting to see the light...
I hope so but.. many many women stay in abusive relationships… in particular the age she is. Hopefully though her children have already packed her suitcase after she found out in feb she is his 4th wife and he has other children

Right now, Smith is bringing up a lot of RB's previous travel, particular in the 1990's. He keeps asking who did you visit, where did you go, what did you do? RB keeps saying he can't remember.

Excellent strategy. This can be used to against him... why can't he remember any of these details, but can remember the details of his trip in 1997?

Answer: because he made up the details of the 1997 trip.
Also IMO evidence of shady dealings then...I still think OC connections at that point in time.

What name did he say after Aunt Lucy?

I visited Aunt Lucy and Aunt M ?
I have a dutch friend Marjo...it sounded a bit like that.

me too - I had to go back and listen to be sure.
Not a name you just make up if you have never heard of it before.
Aunt Lucy yes. Maggio no.
Always a truth spun in his BS

What’s sad is that, as it stands right now, I don’t think Marion will ever get the justice she deserves. As much as I think he wouldn’t know the truth if he tried to steal it’s identity, I don’t think there is enough “there” there to convict him in her murder.

also
Smith needs to try and slow down his speech.
A shame also that they don't have anyone French listening out (or maybe they do after wards)...what about the "fatal" car crash? fatal said with strong accent.

Smith doesn't need to slow down his speech.

Every word he's spoken has been clear and easy to understand.
