Oh, sorry I may have mislead you with the "defective product" bit as this was just an example of where this section of the criminal code can be applied and at the time I found it my mind was thinking of dodgy furniture! In a wider sense this comes under Article 418 of the Belgian Criminal Code: An individual who has caused harm due to a lack of prudence or precaution, without intent to harm the other person, is guilty of involuntary injury.

So of course yesterday, when he claimed never to have harmed anyone (I..NEVER, NEVER, NEVER etc).....well he was convicted of involuntary injuries which is causing harm.
Bingo!!

Just for clarity... RB did say MC was well connected.

But he didn't say she had connections to V&B.
Nor was it suggested that MC worked at the factory.
They said she was or had been a teacher.

RB simply said some of the things they did together was go to the V&B factory and concerts. In other words, arty and cultured things. (Which has a correlation to Marion meeting a man at the Arts Centre IMO).

It's a normal and fun activity for people interested in china to go to the factory, to the outlet/store to look around and potentially buy pieces.

Also for clarity...
I believe it is RB who is interested in china. So it doesn't matter when the Florabella range came out vs when he allegedly visited the factory. He might follow the designs, regardless. Maybe he knows the china designs because he made fakes to sell? Using his forge die or whatever.

Note that he obtained the FNR licence in 1988! He was already fantasising or plotting something...

24 Aug 1988

RB obtains his Queensland FNR licence

2 Oct 1992
Licence reissued (renewing that licence days before going o/s is so suspicious!)

6 Oct - 3 Nov 1992
RB in Europe (possibly sees MC?)

Early 1990s
The dH family live in Tasmania
He writes to MC and talks of running away together

Please correct me if I made an error :)

I too believe gambling on horses may play a part in his relentless pursuit of money. If so there should be a money trail or evidence of him gambling large sums

The inquest repeated the similarity in initials FNR & FNMR. Not sure what the position was in 1997 but nowadays many bank cards don’t show a gender. Could Aka have obtained a bank card or cheque book showing just F N Remakel? What else could you get away with without a gender confirmation?
Bingo!

Sorry to keep posting but having listened to the whole inquest there are so many things to question. I’m sure at one point he said he met Marion in Luxembourg instead of Switzerland. Did anyone else notice that? I so should keep notes when listening!
Lord Peter Flimsy keep posting.
You are on the mark so many times.

Thanks @MrsEmmaPeel
As the Flora Bella design was only released in 1990 I checked my timeline again.
On Oct 6th 1992
RICHARD LLOYD WESTBURY departed for Europe, returning 3/11/92
Q: Did he continue/reignite his affair with Monique because shortly after his return to Australia he purchased a house at MIDWAY POINT, Tasmania and Letters and cards were sent to Monique Cornelius from Tasmania.
Bingo!

This could also explain dear MB’s secrecy when spotted by Sally in car with a tall man and the sense of urgency when Sally’s hubby was helping MB pack? He’s a professional con artist with a large toolkit incl preying on vulnerable victims, isolating them from their support network, falsifying docs to support his endless lies, theft, gaslighting, abuse, the list is endless. Very cruel.
Just my opinion

This might be where some of his 'acquired' funds have gone...

I also believe his injuries were the result of a RTA and nothing to do with being dragged by a horse. Somewhere in the inquest I think he made a comment that suggested road accident but I haven’t found it again yet. Perhaps at the 4th or 5th listening I’ll find it?!!

Do any sleuths have opinions on the flip-flopping evidence RB gave about how he made first contact with Marion?

Im interested to find out which uncle was very sick in Tasmania or why they went there. I was able to prove that none of Diane’s relatives that I could find passed away in Tasmania or around 1991/1992 (I sent info. To TLV)

I never believed that BS. Why would you sell a beautiful newly built home and move to Tassie for 12 months. He was hiding from someone!

I found that death notice of Freddy back in late 60s I think it was now ( sorry not on pc atm) and was of the belief it was the Freddy because I thought he was using his alias after his death.
Now Im not so sure.
I found another death of Fredy which is much more fitting.
I sent it to TLV a while back - not sure that was wise.
Anyways Just waiting for a bit more research on that find and I will post up.
If my hunch is right, there is a valid reason why he didnt commit to what happened to Fredy David

I believe Fredy was at least alive in the late 70's when DDH stayed with the family, she referred to both brothers / cousin by name, in response to AC's questioning when asked who was involved in the business, who his family members were when she was in Belgium. To me it was truthful, she didn't pause or think about the questions. and I don't believe RB would have even raised a dead brother/ cousin with her if that was the case since he hasn't bothered to tell her who his parents are JMO

Excellent theory. The reward (and a 90’s photo, given all the name changes) may lure this someone and/or others out. Just theorising an opinion…

Decades ago, I nearly went on a date with a person later charged with murder. I didn’t realise it was the same person until I saw old photos published.

As I pointed out when I posted it that it was behind a paywall.

There are members who can read it.

We can't read this link unfortunately, as you need to be a subscriber.

Agree, however they can't post old photos of him as he hasn't yet been charged with anything. I've always thought Marion's photo should have variations of hairstyle and colour which may have jogged someones memory. She may even have worn a blond wig when she came back. Lord knows what story he invented for secrecy.
