I’m presuming it’s the one with nothing. No website just an email not even any followers or likes

I thought maybe the WVC one but its clearly not RB, you can tell by the comments, that this person stole a FB page from someone else called WVC.

I think our time is been wasted TBH lol

I agree, there are 3 WVC fb pages belonging to the same person and not connected to RB at all as far as I can determine. I'm sure RB does have an internet presence but I haven't found it yet.

Yep agree nothing at all to suggest this is him at all. And personally I don’t believe he’d use that name online

@BonnieB @Eyespywithmylittleeye During the CI, RB was asked if he attended his mother’s funeral in Belgium? His reply, if I remember correctly, went something like this, he "was not told of her death until three days after, so it was too late to attend". This could mean that his mother was Jewish and by tradition, the burial would have taken place within 24 hours of death. Also, I doubt VERY much that his family were in contact with him at all, let alone him visiting them every time he travelled to Europe. With all their wealth (remembering the inheritance!) why didn't they ever visit him in Australia?
Wasn't his original name Willy Wouters? (edit: it was William Coppenolle apparently) It would be very unusual if he were from a Jewish family with such a name (Wouters/Coppenolle). More likely (non-practising) Christian family origins.

probably a stupid question - but when he say's Belgian pension, I assume he doesn't mean an old age pension in the 90's ?? was it also an invalid pension ? associated with his "service" ?

I would assume the Aus government would not pay him an invalid payment if they knew he was already receiving one from another source ?

pension
[ˈpɛnʃ(ə)n]

NOUN
  1. a regular payment made by the state to people of or above the official retirement age and to some widows and disabled people.
As he was still young, in his 30s I think, when he had the riding accident, the so-called pension is likely a monthly welfare allowance for the disabled.

If TLV had refined their approach of the Real FR they may have been able to ask him if these were his :-/ IMO.

I agree I don't see the benefit unless he is actually operating as FR in Europe, bank accounts and all.

Is it possible he can apply for name changes in Belgium just as he has in Aus and have an EU passport in FR and other names ?
Highly unlikely. Changing names is complicated and often requires court approval. I was flabbergasted how easy this is in Australia.

His name Willy Wouters cant be confirmed to be his 'real' name.
Given he used that name when he was 30 and using aliases prior to coming out to Aust I doubt that is his real name - JMO

For those of us scratching our heads about Renov Pubs and it's use, I'm wondering if it was the mother company for phoenix activity.
Buy up a small business that's heavily in debt
Transfer its assets to the mother company
Appoint dummy directors
Company goes into bankruptcy with no assets (creditors don't get paid)
Re-open company (slight name change) with it's transferred assets & no debts
Operate for short time and sell at a large profit.

Hey @BonnieB -- I've said this before and I'll say it again. . . if RB were competent enough to manage corporate fraud as you've described, he probably wouldn't have wasted his time nickel-and-dime-ing vulnerable women. There was so much time and energy spent on the vulnerable women, and the rewards were fairly minor or none at all. That says to me: petty criminal. Everything about RB reeks of small-time fraudster. But then, what do I know?

It's sad to see this thread peter out. It feels like the energy has died. I hate to be negative (which my sister says I am). I want to believe Sally will win in the end. I pray things are happening out there somewhere in Australia, England, with the authorities hard at work. . . .

I agree RB was/is an opportunist, small-time con-man. Although, as Renov was set up in 1968 and is continually renewed, it definitely has a use. Why would it continue to this day as a registered business?
There would have been many other frauds involving coins, antiques, paintings, cheques etc. and I think the women cons were just a sideline initially, probably for the thrill of manipulation, sex and opportunistic thefts. Then as his other swindles and frauds became increasingly more difficult due to improved technology, he honed in on the vulnerable women targets; ones with assets worth stealing. I'm sure there are many other victims overseas; MB would not have been his first and perhaps she wasn't the only one who mysteriously disappeared. You say...

There was so much time and energy spent on the vulnerable women, and the rewards were fairly minor or none at all. That says to me: petty criminal.

Well, I wouldn't say $160,000 was a minor profit in 1997 (equivalent to about $290,000 today) or $9,000 per week during his 8 month scam. GGB netted him $30,000 for about 3 weeks effort. JO was a dismal failure and actually cost him money but even the best con-men don't win every time.
The infamous Gilbert Chikli is said to have attempted to scam 150 victims with a hit rate of just 3; mind you, those 3 scored him millions.
So, I keep an open mind on Mr. AKA and his capabilities. I do believe he is capable of disposing of a threat and doing so successfully which makes him a very dangerous man; one not to be underestimated. IMO

Rest assured that although Lord Peter is not posting much he is still investigating some of the claims made at the inquests.

Yes and the other snippets that were mentioned on the last episode.
Allowing the podcast to die out can be detrimental to the publics interest!
The whole case needs to be revisited and kept in the public eye.
