I wholeheartedly agree with your points but this bolded bit - this is where the crux of the issue is IMO and it can probably be worked out from his MO and 'the likelihood of...' because god knows we're unlikely to get the truth from him or anyone protecting him.

His family and acquaintances probably don't perceive that they are protecting an abuser and serious criminal but they sure are - protecting, covering, enabling, facilitating is a choice to promote evil. I hope they can come to see this. Maybe RB has been mixed up with some far scarier criminals and they daren't tell anything due to possible repercussions?

Anyhow, your bit in bold, I agree that it would be far far too risky for RB to have Marion with him in Aus and it doesn't really make any sense why he would - she'd be a loose cannon, most especially if she were to contact any family member, and he'd long since perfected the art of fraud without needing her presence. He may well have needed a female accomplice. If Marion did come back on the different flight, personally I doubt it, then I speculate she came back the same as JO did, feeling suspicious and that would have been her demise anyhow. I don't believe for one minute the RB 'worked with' Marion over a period of weeks to make these withdrawals, it doesn't seem likely, makes no sense, and let's credit Marion with a bit more sense than that - as you say she wasn't stupid. And she would have most certainly wanted to see her children and loved ones. JMO MOO
Maybe Marion returned to confront him and turned up at the family home, only to see DDH. That would have enraged RB and maybe they killed Marion and withdrew her money.

A movie came to mind, about a french serial bigamist and murderer.
Charlie Chaplin and I've never been a fan but I loved this movie when I saw it three or four years ago.
Monsiuer Verdoux. Based on a real story.

In the movie he gives "noble" reasons why he took on this new career, to support his wheelchair bound wife, and their son.
To him it was a business.

On Youtube, the foreign language caps are a bit of a detraction.

2006 is the year his son graduted from Melb University.

DdeH said they had moved to Melb for a few years in the 2000's as the son was at Uni there.

Interestingly, Renov Pubs 1968, with its 3 associated names of Willy David Coppenolle, FdeH and RB..... the same address given when he and IK arrived in Aust back in 1969 is still SO important to this case.

"Someone has stolen my name"! he exclaims in shock horror to AC

If I break down the associated names to this company and assume for a moment that it is "Willy David Coppenolle" who was the initial owner of the company, then after some criminal activity using that name OR this is his REAL name and he is keeping it clean and safe......He decides to take up the DeH name ( after all he is about to be a newly married man and starting a family here in Aust with his child bride) and adds that name to Renov Pubs in late 70's because he retained that name on Renov Pubs adding RB as an Adminstrator down the track - He had the name change of RB in 2014 and added it to Renov Pubs in 2015 as AC pointed out.

He then more recently, removed the FdeH name from Renov Pubs leaving only RB as administrator, ALTHOUGH there is a search that still shows BOTH names associated to the company. Always a breadcrumb ( thanks to Marion).

2006 FdeH scams GD from Belgium
2010 FdeH scams AF from Belgium
2012 another woman from Belgium scammed and left penniless in Bali - he must have also used this name for police to make the connection to GD.

RB tries to remove all trace of FdeH from Renov Pubs, a company he still holds today.

This company has an important role in his life. What the hell is it!

Would she have known his family home? We are informed by RB that she turned up there to drop off / pick up her crates but that's probably garbage.

Thats the only thing I could think of as well, who needs to know you have a decent liver ?

why insist on medical tests ?
And the bank manager said MB said she was going to Bali to find herself...

Maybe she knew where it was because she had to arrange her belongings to be stored there. Maybe she had the address as it’s where she instructed the delivery to go to? Do we know how her belongings were taken there?

There was also a Bali connection with JO from what I can recall.

Wasn’t the daughter married in Bali?

During the course of this thread, some people came around to the idea that RB most definitely took Marion's valuables packed in tea chests to his own home as at the inquest he tried to invent a cover story that they were collected from his garage by Marion and an airline pilot which was the last time he saw her. If I remember correctly. This would imply he was covering up for having had the items. However, it doesn't imply Marion ever really went there or knew where he lived. He would need to make sure Marion didn't know where he lived I assume.

Was his home ever searched ?

I keep thinking about the Jane Doe / Jennifer Fergate case. Where the single young woman checked into a hotel in Oslo on a false name, seemingly waiting to meet someone. She was without documents or any belongings and has never been identified but was found shot in the head, disguised as a suicide. In 1995.

It's these sorts of crimes where you wonder where someone like RB could have been involved. Maybe dispossessed of all her assets, maybe waiting at a hotel to rendevouz with the man she was hoping to elope with, maybe a man who has all her money and assets, ringing a Belgian number twice that was an incorrect number, giving an incorrect Belgian address. And then found dead and nobody knows who she is.

The fact that he mentioned Marion coming to the house with the pilot tells me that she was there at some point. I think he made up that story in case they ever find evidence that she was there physically.

I disagree on this as my take on it is the cover story was because her crates were absolutely there at some point and according to Sally's husband, a professional company came to take them. So, my sense of it is, he knows that possible proof of those crates going from A to B could be found and so he's admitted they were briefly at his home. He knows Marion was never there and nobody is going to say she was but the crates were.

I think that the reason he said that was because at one time or other he had at least some of Marion's belongings in his house.
My guess is that he still had something there that was hers. Or he wasn't sure if he'd got rid of everything,
So he was covering himself just in case.
I don't believe Marion ever went to his house. I doubt that she ever knew where he lived.

LOL. The nerve of someone stealing his name :D

If only someone could steal his home, business, valuables, life savings, wife, children, and leave him penniless and homeless in the arctic, he might even just begin to know how it feels. Maybe dig a hole for him and leave him there.

Different topic - but has anyone ever ascertained whether he actually owns this woodland tree plantation thing that's been mentioned?

The dH family move from Wollingbar back to ‘The Terrace’, Ballina
Thanks so much @Peralta! I could only search something like "moved house" and as you can imagine the thread results were impenetrable. :p

Was 'The Terrace' under his/their ownership as well during this time as far as we know? Sorry for asking already answered questions, I dropped out of the loop for a little bit and certain details are now foggy.

I always assumed that the container with Marions possession went into storage, I am now thinking the container may have been delivered to RB or stored in his name

I dont think she knew where he lived like JO just dropped him of at the Big Prawn and he would waddle home from there
