Oooh! we have dates of August withdrawals and locations! It was $500 not $5000!!!!

so far I am finding this more interesting than the rest of the inquest lol

no wonder the bank did have the flags we thought they should - $500 would ring no alarm bells but it's almost stranger than removing $5000 a day

Oh, that's why according to JH Manager, customer didn't have their ATM card.

Yes, agree, always found it strange why they never flagged the $5000.

I'm currently at work at the moment and can't watch the inquest ---- so thanks, through your comments, I can still gleam the important bits until I get home.

Wow, that cops entry is interesting / damaging. Made by Byron Police, it reads along the lines of: "Not missing as she is known to behave like this, and not contact family. A divorced woman who likely took up with a man, transferred her money and returned with him to England."

  • #306
Crown said it's assumed Byron checked with Federal police, who checked what? Passport records? But her passport was never used. It's damaging to RB and possibly police. If this check didn't happen, how did Byron police know she returned to England?

Once again... where did this information originate? This is what halted the investigation. Argh...

Wait, did Casselden just say she DID withdraw the $500 from ATM?

If so, how do they now know this?
You're right. They don't know because the information comes from a note by Marion's dad, not bank records. I think it was a slip of the tongue?

I don't for a second believe Marion did a 'back to work' course.
Also, why would the bank worker witness be doing a back to work course.
Plus we have no evidence what Tafe course she was referring to anyway.
It could have been something else entirely, like for instance flower arranging, or making flowers to wear in your hair :D

Oh reading back, sorry I missed the part that this was after the bank worker had left the bank

The bank manager said she was returning to work after having kids.

Although it was not mentioned and don't know if it applies to the situation, but sometimes Centrelink makes people do courses in order to keep receiving benefits until they get a job.

It's not a bad summary. Basically, the police and banks view that Marion withdrew her money and ran off with a man. And the Crown's view that RB is a known fraudster and believe he was in a relationship with Marion for longer than he admits. There is also a clear link between RB as FR, Marion as FR. When you put all that together... it paints a clear picture.

Their question is, when after 15 October, did she die?

I'm trying to decide whether casseldon is trying to say she disappeared on her own or she didn't.

She mentioned it was after her kids were grown I think?

Crown suggests it's highly probable the Narita stationary means Marion and RB spent time together in England and that he gave it to her.

Smith is fired up and ready to go! He's chewing his pencil like a mad man. Can't wait to hear his summary.

Oh, Casselden takes issue with the $80k. If it was transferred electronically overseas then RB wouldn't need to open the safety deposit box. But then again, why open the safety deposit box on the 14 October for no apparent reason?

Casselden says RB has a history of exploiting middle aged and vulnerable women. But doesn't think he had any involvement in withdrawing her money once she returned.
