This photo makes me think he might also have been impersonating a woman as part of his frauds. Like it wouldn’t be a huge stretch for him to impersonate Marion to withdraw money. And didn’t he want one of the other women to cut her hair short and dye it blonde ?

With his size and voice it would be impossible to pass for Marion.

He is just a con artist who gets off on changing his appearance when he attacks his next target.

2006 is the year his son graduted from Melb University.

DdeH said they had moved to Melb for a few years in the 2000's as the son was at Uni there.



Interestingly, Renov Pubs 1968, with its 3 associated names of Willy David Coppenolle, FdeH and RB..... the same address given when he and IK arrived in Aust back in 1969 is still SO important to this case.

If I break down the associated names to this company and assume for a moment that it is "Willy David Coppenolle" who was the initial owner of the company, then after some criminal activity using that name OR this is his REAL name and he is keeping it clean and safe......He decides to take up the DeH name ( after all he is about to be a newly married man and starting a family here in Aust with his child bride) and adds that name to Renov Pubs in late 70's because he retained that name on Renov Pubs adding RB as an Adminstrator down the track - He had the name change of RB in 2014 and added it to Renov Pubs in 2015 as AC pointed out.

He then more recently, removed the FdeH name from Renov Pubs leaving only RB as administrator, ALTHOUGH there is a search that still shows BOTH names associated to the company. Always a breadcrumb ( thanks to Marion).

2012 another woman from Belgium scammed and left penniless in Bali - he must have also used this name for police to make the connection to GD.

RB tries to remove all trace of FdeH from Renov Pubs, a company he still holds today.

This company has an important role in his life. What the hell is it!

Surely Belgium Police can access these company records?

I keep thinking about the Jane Doe / Jennifer Fergate case. Where the single young woman checked into a hotel in Oslo on a false name, seemingly waiting to meet someone. She was without documents or any belongings and has never been identified but was found shot in the head, disguised as a suicide. In 1995.

It's these sorts of crimes where you wonder where someone like RB could have been involved. Maybe dispossessed of all her assets, maybe waiting at a hotel to rendevouz with the man she was hoping to elope with, maybe a man who has all her money and assets, ringing a Belgian number twice that was an incorrect number, giving an incorrect Belgian address. And then found dead and nobody knows who she is.

I have been reading a little about the Musée Flaubert et d’Histoire de la Medecine, that MB FB page mentioned.

I’m just catching up with this thread. Wow! To learn he may have used physical disguises too. He really looks like he’s wearing makeup in that photo.
And to hear about IK. I agree @mishy66 - she deserves to be honoured.
All these women, vulnerable to his scams. My own mother was scammed (obvs, not by RB!) and the resultant shame, fear and self hatred was harder for her to bear than the $$$ stolen.

I agree. That is what I also believe. Some people think differently though and that's why I posted a response to the question of whether Marion went there.

My view is RB didn’t really need Marion to return to Aus, and he seems consistent with leaving women stranded. (Unless it had something to do with her name change.)

However, if Marion never returned what was the purpose of a new car for just a few months?

If Marion did return, either with him or to find him and confront him, where did she stay?

I just can’t make sense of it.

If Marion came back, which I am not one of the people who believe she did, she didn't take the same flight as him. So, she would have arrived back in Australia alone, maybe feeling unsettled, needing a rest and a shower and something to eat probably. Without a car and either with a ton of luggage or without much luggage (depending if she'd put her large cases in storage). Where would she stay? What are the most likely things she would have done? I imagine she would have found a hotel near to the airport?

From all we have heard of Marion and also RB's previous victims, I find it hard to believe that MB would have kept falling for his demands. For example the new Belgian woman didn't take any notice whatsoever of the 'don't tell your children' demand. JO went straight to her family member in the UK who quickly pointed out to her something was awry. I personally don't believe Marion would have come all the way back to Australia then failed to make contact with anyone she knew whatsoever, not one of her sisters, not one of her children, and not one of her friends, to discuss the things going on in her life. Most especially if she was feeling suspicious of RB.

I think if you go back in the last 3 or 4 pages someone posted it. It's a colour facial straight on photo of him. Slightly olive skin, white shirt, glasses, blonde almost white hair someone either here or on the FB page said you can see his dark roots I don't know if the roots of his hair are dark or it's just lighting, his hair is layered to his shoulders. He's got clear framed glasses, smiling and his lips look a little bit pinky red colour. Also the background is white, as someone pointed out it's not a mug shot because he wouldn't be smiling.

I don't know if photos are allowed to uploaded and I don't know how to do that. Literally the first missing persons case I've listened to and none of my friends have, so I had to find somewhere to talk about it

He cannot impersonate the real Marion obviously as they were wildly different in height and looks.

However, dressed as a woman, who everyone would clearly see is someone trans, he could certainly play with identity and gender and defy people to call him out, like hiding in plain sight. Also, needs must. If he wanted his hands on money or he urgently needed to travel in a female identity, maybe that's the lengths he'd go to? Let's not forget that Marion is a male name in French. Florabella is an extremely camp name indeed and I can just imagine him putting a flower in his hair and saying he's off to find himself in Bali!

Also I wouldn't be surprised if he's been exploiting vulnerable members of the queer communities.

Did the real Fernand have any shares/investments/property/ vehicles/boats stolen during that period? RB may have needed photo ID to claim it, but with a pic that wasn’t recognizable as RB by Fernand if he reported it.

Hello all-- I haven't listened to new episodes yet nor checked FB for updates-- but had a maybe new thought while reading your comments. Bear with me as a pose another scenario I don't think I've heard before. . . . What if RB's plan was to leave MB stranded in UK; return to Australia; remove her money by whatever means he cooked up. Somehow utilizing the name change which he'd talked her into. He stages a breakup or big fight, then races back to Australia. MB, hurt but emotionally tied to him, decides she'll surprise him and show her faith in their relationship. Unknown to him, she flies back to Australia! To remove the money and present it to him as a show of faith, to start their new life. RB freaks out because now MB has wrecked his plan and is too close to him for comfort. And that's what causes him to go beyond his usual scam and kill MB. (Unless of course, he killed IK.) RB must remove all trace of her so she won't be linked to him. Yes, he got the money but the price is silencing Marion. FWIW. Now I'll dig in.

I personally had less of a 'he looks like a woman' feel by looking at the picture. Maybe cause i'm from Belgium and saw plenty of this style of guys (i automatically get an 'eek, don't trust him' feeling from them, but it's not nice to judge a book by its cover, i know!)

But what stood out for me where his teeth and his shiny lips.
Those teeth seem to white and imo even fake-looking. Maybe he even changed dentures to appear different or for being more attractive for the unfortunate ladies.

When comparing the two 'best' pictures we have of him both show an upperlip that's thicker at his right side. IF we find other pictures where we would wonder if it's him, we can use that for identification.

The picture, to me, looks like a self-promoting picture. Like the ones on datingsites, sites of businesses to show their boss or employee, the picture of a writer of a book (at the backside of a book) or a reporter.
