I'm getting very greedy.

The more information we get, the more I crave for more :)

So was the name Richard Lloyd Westbury that he travelled to the UK under with Marion a play on the Richard West name or another real person he used the name from? If so, where from?

Richard West coin expert is still Ric Blum MOO.
until the real Richard West coin author puts his hand up

RB had a passport under that name for a few years, which he continued to use after another deed poll type name change back to WW, as counsel brought up at the coronial inquest. So he may not have needed stolen ID to use that name, but as these chosen names don't seem to be random, the name RLW may well have been 'stolen'. All JMO.

I think this might have been shared before, and big chance it's all a coincidence...but .... There's a Richard Lloyd Hunter from Westbury Leigh, Westbury, UK

Living two doors down from him is a William Herbert Clark

One of the many rabbit holes that could be irrelevant but what are the chances hey

(Westbury Leigh is nowhere near Burwash. )

Do you mean Richard West the editor of the coin mag?

I want to know if ‘tokens’ were also something that he collected/sold

Richard West a merchant/tradesmen from Sudbury/Suffolk area issued tokens in 1651

Here’s one of his.. they are very ‘coin’ like and I just wondered if perhaps Aka also collected these. And that’s where the name come from? Big long shot but maybe?

Yes I kind of recall some sleuths doing a big dive into this but didnt find it related to AKA dealings.
I know it has two key NAMES in it but I think the Hunter name may be another connection to someone else.

You never know I guess

@mishy66 probably a different Georges Dufour given not likely an Abbot - but it’s an amusing clip from a UK paper and no shortage of dodginess! Sometimes I wonder if this guy is an immortal swindler (joke!), or if there’s a swindler gene!

Interesting!
I have some info on a Georges Dufour - not related to the coin era- I will dig it out.

Wow. And as someone here said- easier to travel with an undeclared single coin or two, than declaring $10k in cash?

curious...why are there so many articles being published about RB all the sudden? Did I miss something significant?

The Facebook page said a few weeks ago that coming up would be a lot of exposure of RB and it’s necessary to spread awareness to hopefully help Sally and Marion.
