My question is. Did he change his name with centrelink everytime he had a name change or did he just use the "one bank account for his pension income in the
De Hedervary name. And travel on the other names?
I don't know. I would think you'd have to change it if you were legally changing names? I guess the government departments weren't likned back then like they are now and easier to get around. I just figured if centrelink were aware by now that it would be hot gossip around the offices.

If it was me and I was under suspicion of something, like a missing person and there was a thread here, I'd be here all the time.
Its only human nature. I'd be here even if I was totally innocent.
I wouldn't post, or like anyone's post. I would try to keep a very low profile.
I would also choose a user name that had no hints as to my real identity (or identities)
He would be doing so at the cost of his footprint being traced. Extremely hard to hide internet histories totally and everything is traceable these days. Using public computers in a library is also traceable as you need to log in as a library member in order to use them.

Just looking over some old posts and links to Ballina Coins again.

Wonder if anyone has found more info on all this now?

1994 Ballina Coin Investments and DeHedervary Family Trust are set up by Vernon Paul Ware (Accountant)

95 Tamar St Ballina

BALLINA COIN INVEST PTY. LTD.
Barry Cooper books and coins. Barry Cooper mentioned by JO and the address of office

Ballina Coins had a name change to Clarendon Hills Investments Pty Ltd.

BALLINA
There's definitely something about oldmatey key principal.
Dun&bradstreet have him as one number on a residential street, some government tax site has him listed as 95 Tamar st, a legal entity identifier site has him listed as another number on the same residential street as the first, theres another tax agent listed at the first address and then there's a slew of other businesses operating from it too. I went for a drive and the area although residential is still very private with the houses on acreages.

But on another note, the Attila name, I found one that was also known at one of their addresses which may also be an alias? I dont think we have dug into the backstory of that name yet?

Ooh great point!

So DDhD has been on a carers pension since the 70s? She would have been a young woman then, wouldn’t she?
I think they started claiming as soon as they returned to Australia in 1986 after being in the UK for 3 years. Perhaps they struggled hoodwinking the British agencies or the system wasn’t so generous?!

He’ll have to make up another alias. He’s good at that. A lifetime of practice.

JMO, but based on his apparent knowledge of coins, antiques, perhaps poisons, not to mention the people who happen to have the same names as his alleged aliases and other, people with similar, erm, talents - presumably he must be very widely read in quite niche subjects. This was often well prior to the internet. Presumably he must have frequented libraries or bookshops where specific books would need researching and ordering?

How I wish those records, particularly libraries, in the areas he’s lived, were accessible.
The real FR and MC ran a bookshop in Luxembourg that I’m sure he frequented.

In February 1976, he applied for citizenship under a new name he had legally adopted through deed poll, Frederick De Hedervary. Within weeks he was attending a Sydney citizenship ceremony, after asking for and receiving urgent approval because his father was dying in Belgium.

Quite likely there may have been a photo of the new citizens in the area paper.

Not word for word, but "a declaration was drawn up, on that day, in Lorzé". I would imagine that's Lorzé in Switzerland.
Does it say ”à Lorze” or “à seize heures »? Which translated (from French) would be »at 16:00 hours (4 O’Clock). I also see maybe the words « sur la déclaration » which translates as « according to the statement ». Struggling with the first bit at the moment Because it looks like old French script handwriting.

UPDATE: I think it says:
« decessé le jour susdit à seize heures, sur la déclaration »
which translates as:
« Died on the aforesaid day at four o’clock, on the declaration » (or according to the statement)…depends what comes next or the context.
plus the first word could be « cessé » with a big square in front! Meaning «ceased ». If you have a wider screenshot of the words either side, I could probably do better on that first word.

Maybe that was where he got the hots for Monique.
I still so want to hear her full story. Come on TLV.

She was the one who said he was Jewish. I know I’m one of a few that IMHO believes he might be which is why I would like to see his birth certificate and even then that might not be 100% proof of who he is.

She also told the story he recounted to her of him working at the British Embassy in Luxembourg as a secret agent, a tactic so often used by con-artists and no doubt used by him on more than one occasion to put the fear of God into some of his victims and so that they avoid contact with their families and close friends.

How about someone takes his fingerprints and those of the devoted DDH?
How about someone takes DNA samples?
How about we skip names, too much intrigue and game playing for these characters.. just fingerprints and DNA
Then whatever names they invent will not matter at all..
No matter where they travel, or whatever they touch it can be traced back to them
No more games.. no more of my money.. time is up..
How about DDH pays for her life of crime.. she can have a break from her carers role.
I'm sure the man of mystery would have plenty of carers behind bars.

And to create a (false) sense of urgency. How terrifying.

His mate Barry Cooper had a bookstore in Ballina. I don't think Barry liked Mrs Aka.

Get his DNA and fingerprints and run it through unsolved crimes.
Geeeezus why wasn't he dealt with years ago!

Brilliant research Mishy. There appears to be an even bigger and tangled web in this case. I do hope those who have the power to do so investigate all known associates. They’ve waited long enough.

Yes me too!

Not convinced that MC was an innocent victim.

For me, it looks more like, he did something to her and her producing the letter was a get square. She had kept his mail all those years - funny thing to do when she says he was a liar and a scammer.

He swooned over her, didnt say a bad word against her up until towards the end of the day, when AC read the letter out he nearly passed out on the chair LOL!

BEST day ever that day when AC took his sweet time reading AH love letter to the world.
