This guy is a career criminal. We know about his criminal activity in the 1960/70s. We know he moved onto romance scamming and fleecing vulnerable women as he grew older in the 1990s and beyond.

I’ve no doubt he was active in the 1980s, but doing what exactly? Was it far more violent?

Marion may have had time off in term 1 off, as suspected...

Except that May would have be Term 2 (after Easter break) but the mother could just have been Speaking loosely/ generally and meaning Semester 1, I guess.

More like years later trying to reflect on a time somewhere at start of a school year.
We need to remember that it was YEARS later all of this came to light and questions asked.
Good on that parent for coming forward with even the slightest information on a cold case which it was at the time.

The community was asked to deliver written submissions to the EPA by 1 May 1998.
They received over 800 written submissions
It is also the largest number submitted by individual citizens.

Not a bad pad to own for 2 pensioners, one of whom flew all around the world, ON HIS OWN, while on a disability pension - I mean WHERE was his carer who was getting Government handouts to look after him!??
What a handy place to have with the garage right out front of the house, lots of room to make fake coins etc etc etc. Where was DdeH when the boxes arrived to his house???

Chris, Sally's partner, helping pack at Marion's home & Marion asking Chris to leave unexpectedly. Then later that same evening, Sally & Chris sighting Marion with a tall, dark man in the car at McDonalds on Ferry road, Southport, QLD. Then, when the removalist came to Marion's home in Ashmore and transported Marion's belongings to the various addresses for drop off. Both of these activities occurred in May, but we do not have firm dates for these based on all the evidence we have. »

Yes, so rental assistance, a carers pension for a person she was suppose to care for, who was flying all over the world whilst on a pension himself, both of them flying in and out of Australia, children competing in swimming competitions all over Australia, moving every few years, building homes and selling them, buying land and selling it, the kids playing with the rich and famous. I mean, HOW did they do all that and more, given MOST decent Australian pensioners can hardly make ends meet! Did she ever hold down a job?????

What I am interested in is their 2001, 2002 and short period of 2008 in Cessnock.

A man who visited the home regularly said that their house incl the garage in Wollongbar as very neat and tidy, with filing cabinets lined up “military style” on all walls of the garage. This supports the independent observations of the de Hedervary’s neighbour for many years in Howard Crescent, Ballina, of their garage in that home too. The man describes the garage being the hub of Mr. Blum’s business activities. He had a medium sized safe sitting on the floor where he kept rare coins as well as precious stones such as diamonds and other jewels, he had a workbench complete with jewellers magnifying equipment and tools. He also had tools for producing coins including a coin press and cylinders for holding coin lots. The cars were never parked in the garage.
This man is of the view that if there were 3-4 wooden tea chests of Marion’s belongings in there in 1997 for a period of weeks, then the rest of the family would have seen these items, as they would have stood out because of how the garage was kept by Mr. Blum, it was effectively a workplace.

This differs from Mr. Blum’s account of the state of his garage at the time :
A. Yes, but the box - my garage was full boxes - I had a fridge, spare freezer,
a washing machine, all the lawnmowers, all the tools from - all the tools from
the garden and boxes with all sorts of things going back to when my
mother-in-law died and all that"
