Mr Smith, lawyer for Sally/the family, is up now. (They are having issues with his audio) She really wants to help the daughter. (WE MUST PROTECT THIS WOMAN. SHE IS THE BEST) He asked for the letter that he wrote to her back. He said he wanted to have it framed to put above their bed in Australia. The letter was very long with good handwriting. She doesn’t remember if he described himself in the letter. She never knew his age for sure and he never told her. He never explained why he was staying in student accommodation. And he said very little about himself. She did have an ultrasound of the liver and a sleep examination at his request. He didn’t say anything about having any connections to Bali, he just said it was pretty. He ALWAYS went with her to the bank when she was withdrawing money, it was the ONLY time that he went out with her. He didn’t tell her why he was going with her. She doesn’t remember if he asked for specific euro amounts. He didn’t tell her about any connections in Amsterdam, just that he was going to get some coins there. She gave a statement to police in 2003. She was asked to go to give a statement because someone else had fallen victim to him. The police didn’t give them a name, but she was told the other victim was left in Bali penniless. She also wanted to add that the police in Tourney did not speak English. AKA asked her to get an International drivers license, and AKA told her if she ever lost her passport he’d be very angry. AKA only at with her family once and her DIL was at that dinner. She doesn’t remember what he talked about at the dinner, she says she doesn’t remember because she was very emotional. (DIL said he talked about poisons and she was creeped by him btw.) AKA told her that he was involved in the Vietnam War as a volunteer. She thinks he talked about poisons and that poisons were important to him. In the end, she was worried about his interest in poisons. On two occasions she was scared of him and she doesn’t understand why she stayed. He talked far too often about poisons. It was an interest that he brought up in conversations. She said one of the reasons she was worried about his interest in poisons was because she was concerned he would use them on her.
