F chose things (personal treasured items and valuables) that were valuable and dear to her to be shipped so that she could have them upon her arrival in Australia.

He packed them in one big trunk and a slightly smaller one for shipping to Australia.

She has no idea what became of the items, her daughter in law wanted to help drive with her truck but F said no, he didn't want her help. She has never seen the trunks or the items since.

Value is difficult to say, also she had noticed he removed some items as she had found them afterwards.

The trunks… I missed it - did he bring them to fill them? Were they actually tea chests he’d acquired years earlier?

Sorry 72k euros. She did not get any of that money back. (Good God I hate AKA, she seems sweet.) One day he called from Brussels and she demanded he give the money back. He hinted that if she tried anything/contacted him he would get revenge. It was three or four days after she realized he was gone for good, he had taken all his things. She gave him items/he took items to Australia of hers for her arrival. She packed them in trunks… One big one and a slightly smaller one. He took them both, even after her daughter who owns a truck offered to take them. She never saw the items again. She says it’s hard to say how much money the items were valued at. He removed some items from the trunks because she found them afterwards. The relationship ended when he was away/absent. Her son and his partner organized a meal and he didn’t show up, he had a large sum of money for purchasing coins and she was afraid for him. He told her that he broke up with her because she was nosy (or noisy?) when she was drinking.

When he didn’t show up/he disappeared she did contact the police. They told her not to worry because he was seen in Amsterdam and he was in good health. (Remember she was concerned for him.) She saw him in Brussels once and he dove into a chocolate store, she thinks because he didn’t want her to cause a scene. Eventually she understood that he never loved her and all he wanted her money. She says she was tired and exhausted when she met AKA, her son’s house burned down, she was looking for a distraction when she put the ad in the newspaper.

She realised the relationship was over and what had happened 'by him being away, absent'.

"My son and his partner had organised a meal and we had a date but he never came and I got worried because he had on him a large sum of money for purchasing coins and I was afraid for him."

F explained the relationship was over because she was noisy when she drinks.

G contacted the police who told her not to worry as F had been seen in Amsterdam and was in good health. She had since him once since - was once walking in Brussels and F was walking on the same side of the street and he dove into a chocolate store, probably to avoid her making a scene.

Eventually she understood that he never loved her and all he wanted was her money.

She realised that she was vulnerable as she was very tired, exhausted, as she had done all the documents for her son and his wife whose farm had burned down and he had lost everything. She was in a very poorly state, very tired, and had wanted to do something new.

((You'd have thought the court had a tech person dealing with this horrific tech audio problem!))

Don't know but he had encouraged G to select her favourite and most valuable and treasured possessions to put in the trunks so that they could be shipped to Australia in advance, in order that she may have them there upon her arrival.

One large trunk and one smaller one.

She later found out he had discarded some of the items but she never saw the trunks or her belongings since. Cannot say as to the value.

So interesting. I wondered if they were MB’s tea chests that FdH had bought to fill.

Shocking the similarities.

F wanted G to have health checks and arranged them.

G had contacted the police but only after F had left the house.

The police didn't know much as far as she knows. She wasn't aware of any other names he had, she knew nothing about that, and they informed her that he may use other names.

Medical examinations… She WAS asked to have them. He said he was going to go with her, and he did not. So he had time at her house while she was out to look around. He never really gave a lot of explanations about the medical examinations. (I wonder if he used medical examinations and haircuts/dyes to ensure his victims were gone for a certain amount of time.) She did go to the police with a complaint. When she lodged the complaint they asked her if she had another name, and that they couldn’t find much on him, so he may have other names. (GDD is freaking a hard-core Grammy who I want to give a giant hug.)

lawyer for the family

Wants to know if it's true the letter F wrote to G, he asked for it back

Yes, F wanted it back so as to have it framed for hanging above their bed in Australia

Of course this didn't happen as she never went to Australia

The letter was very detailed and had no spelling mistakes. It was very long, a full page, good handwriting. She realised he wanted it back so there'd be no trace.

She doesn't remember how he described himself in the letter.

When she met F, she never knew his age for sure as he never told her and she never asked him.

F never mentioned why he was staying in student accommodation and in fact F said very little of himself.

The medical examination was a liver scan and a 'sleep' examination.

Regarding Bali, did F mention his connections?

No, he just thought it was pretty.

Re the bank, F went every single time to the bank with her 'always, always, in fact the only times he ever came with me'. He didn't say why. She doesn't recall if F told her how much to withdraw.

Re Amsterdam, F didn't mention his connections to Amsterdam, he said he was going to fetch some coins from Amsterdam.

Do we know if he’ll be giving additional “evidence” today?
He has a lawyer there today, but I haven't seen him... yet, so who knows!

G had to go to a funeral in Tournet and that is when the police asked her to speak with them as someone else had fallen victim to F.

The police told her just a little, said that a poor lady had been abandoned with no money in Bali and left without anything and very sad that F had left her like that in Bali. The lady from Tournet also didn't speak English.

I agree. They're getting into a rhythm now.

Yes, I regret my previous comment, she's doing great in very difficult circumstances as the noise problems are frankly ludicrous for a court of law not to have the situation in hand.

Mr Smith, lawyer for Sally/the family, is up now. (They are having issues with his audio) She really wants to help the daughter. (WE MUST PROTECT THIS WOMAN. SHE IS THE BEST) He asked for the letter that he wrote to her back. He said he wanted to have it framed to put above their bed in Australia. The letter was very long with good handwriting. She doesn’t remember if he described himself in the letter. She never knew his age for sure and he never told her. He never explained why he was staying in student accommodation. And he said very little about himself. She did have an ultrasound of the liver and a sleep examination at his request. He didn’t say anything about having any connections to Bali, he just said it was pretty. He ALWAYS went with her to the bank when she was withdrawing money, it was the ONLY time that he went out with her. He didn’t tell her why he was going with her. She doesn’t remember if he asked for specific euro amounts. He didn’t tell her about any connections in Amsterdam, just that he was going to get some coins there. She gave a statement to police in 2003. She was asked to go to give a statement because someone else had fallen victim to him. The police didn’t give them a name, but she was told the other victim was left in Bali penniless. She also wanted to add that the police in Tourney did not speak English. AKA asked her to get an International drivers license, and AKA told her if she ever lost her passport he’d be very angry. AKA only at with her family once and her DIL was at that dinner. She doesn’t remember what he talked about at the dinner, she says she doesn’t remember because she was very emotional. (DIL said he talked about poisons and she was creeped by him btw.) AKA told her that he was involved in the Vietnam War as a volunteer. She thinks he talked about poisons and that poisons were important to him. In the end, she was worried about his interest in poisons. On two occasions she was scared of him and she doesn’t understand why she stayed. He talked far too often about poisons. It was an interest that he brought up in conversations. She said one of the reasons she was worried about his interest in poisons was because she was concerned he would use them on her.
