But I do think he had something of Marion's and maybe he knew it was somewhere in his house but he wasn't sure where, so he couldn't just get rid of it.

And he worried overnight and changed his story.

Maybe from the way the detectives acted he thought they might get a warrant for a search, before he had enough time to look through an entire houses belongings and make sure there was nothing of Marion's.

Maybe what he had were the remains of Marion hidden behind a wall or something

I did think the other day if that house was for sale and it were my mother, I would buy it ...and dig up the garden!

Til some of his other victims started coming forward.
He must have got the shock of his life that his AKA names had been found out, in droves.

I remember reading about a murder case, one which involved a freezer which the murderer took with them when they moved house.

I till think they guy is stupid and not as bright as he thinks he is.

If a criminal doesn't know that police can't just search your house without getting a warrant that also requires a high level of evidence that your even involved in the criminal act they are investigating, to get one, then ya have to wonder ..

I think he was bored, I think he was missing the thrill of the chase, after giving up his life of grime ..I think he LOVES the attention, I think he loves to insert himself and try and talk his way out of things that he didn't even need to insert himself into in the first place. JMO

I don't know of any criminal that would assist the police, they would just deny deny deny ... not help them out lol if it wasn't for Blum himself we would still be nowhere .. the guy is a joke.

they never had anything that physically linked him to Marion - they still don't - only RB's very own words, his EGO got him.
Totally agree , he knew they knew he had a connection to her re the name, I think your correct he heard about the pilot story and just thought stupidly he would say this to try to indicate someone else .. all everyone knows is that he is a habitual liar of course but as for any proof he was responsible for her missing and death is ziltch at this stage ...IMO the coroner will say as much with an open finding ...

I wouldn't be so sure about that.
I agree - and there is a tonne of circumstantial evidence - plus his very own words that put him straight in the firing line.

I am still gobsmacked that he would admit to meeting Marion.
I don't think they had enough on him. He could have just kept denying.

Instead he made himself the centre of attention.
The fact that he lied in his first statement - then returned the next day admitting of an affair. It does make me wonder if he did in fact meet MB at the Arts Centre as MB told SL (the man in the car) rather than via a personal ad.

I sense his motivation was the knowledge that someone out there - Arts Centre - Furniture Removalist - Auction House - etc - could possibly come forward. There’s still hope.

I think he denied it at first and then thought about it overnight and realised that if he denied it they would dig up a whole load of other stuff about him - and there was lots to dig up we know that. So he foolishly thought if he simply said he met her a few times and then never saw her again that would be that.

It makes me sick that the police didn't have a search warrant immediately upon discovering his identity and whereabouts.
With a long list of criminal history and change of names and AVO's from women victims.

Cant totally agree - I think RB himself has given enough evidence to question his role in MB disappearance. without him and his inability to just shut up - we would have had ziltch.

The name meant nothing, you can't accuse someone of murder or theft because you have the same last name as the victim - he handed that connection to them.

I am not "so sure" but what evidence is there to enable a murder charge at this stage ?
Like I said there is a tonne of circumstantial evidence! Think of the Chris Dawson case...

There are tons of cases i follow with circumstantial evidence without a guilty outcome , however in this case there is a ton of circumstantial evidence that he ripped off people and had a relationship with Marion but what is the evidence of murder at this stage ? We can all wish and hope they have enough but iMO they do not unless you can find some we do not know about , I will stick to my opinion on that matter

Just reading about poisoning with this treatment for gout. Listening to a podcast where someone was poisoned using this.
These crocus flowers grow wild in the grasslands along The Coast Road between Ballina and Lennox Head.

Definitely agree with your comments for sure..... I just really hope he has stuffed something physical up like the chests, ....Marion’s physical belongings and just haven’t found them (or the traces of them).....yet.....

t’s like working backwards from walking into a spiders web.... you didn’t see it before it was all a mess.... but if you work backward the whole web was in full view.... if that makes sense.....

I think this is all the amazing sleuthing has helped bringing the web into view....
Again..... love all passion, comments, questions and research here and most importantly the general respect shown as many other sites can be otherwise...all focused on supporting Sally in her search for the answers....so thank you.... especially when new and unsure how to navigate to previous chats/threads etc on the site.... thanks all for supporting the practice

Yes there are a lot of similarities between AKA and Dawson. And last week Dawson was found guilty again, this time for the sexual assault of his underage student while he was her teacher. At the end of the proceedings, when he thought the mic had been turned off, Dawson uttered a volley of “f” bombs just like AKA did at the end of one of his police interviews.

Til some of his other victims started coming forward.
He must have got the shock of his life that his AKA names had been found out, in droves.
At the first inquest AC stated some 30 aliases/names that AKA had used had been found by NSW Police, both nationally and probably even more importantly internationally.

So my question is why wasn’t he told at the inquest where everyone of these names had been found and then asked him why he had used each one and where had it come from? By the end of 30 names I think the pattern would have been more than obvious.

Alternatively do NSW Police have good reasons to withhold the context of these names for any possible criminal trial? If so, they better hurry up.

I think they are up to 50 names now and no doubt there are a lot more. My God this guy had much to hide.

Yes well i can imagine him being pi..s.d when in his day ending up being married to an underage student and then to be charged with carnal knowledge decades later was not frowned upon as it is now ...so his perception of the world has had a rude shock for him to wrap his head around, just shows the mans entitlement and believing that was all ok and he might have got away with it if his first wife had not disappeared. AKA has similar entitlement and thinking but they had heaps on him and it took decades

Must have been fingerprinted at sometime when he was convicted over in Belgium and then imprisoned.

However, the Australian authorities would be remiss at this point not to run his fingerprints and DNA through any databases but I suppose they would need a reasonable cause to do so? MB being missing and him being linked to her disappearance could be a good enough cause maybe?
Think it was reported the Belgium authorities are keen to get his fingerprints to check against those stored from the Brabant Gang so not sure if they had them when convicted and jailed.
