I wonder why he didn't just rinse D of her capital and assets and move on?

Instead he felt compelled to go out and bring back the 'winnings' for her.
Yes it seems that DdH is the only one who has remained with him for so long. I wonder if he thought having her and the 2 kids by his side provided a convenient cover, helping make him look like any ordinary family man, especially as he got older.

“Winnings” hmmm, I still can’t get over how unsuccessful he was in spite of all his multitude of fraudulent activities. Surely the “winnings” can’t have been too impressive for DdH after what she had in her own family.

They managed to buy properties under her name so cant have been too bad

Maybe the funds for the properties came from her inheritance so she insisted on them being in her name. Do we know if she had any more than one property at the same time?

Many a crook puts things in wife’s, kid’s name to “protect” from being taken away in damages claims, restitutions it makes it more difficult to recover. Also, could be part of their “partnership” deal to keep her quiet, or protected in case of jail. Diane needed to get paid for her work. A good financial forensic examination of their assets could uncover some interesting details. There is probably not ONE traceable legitimate financial transaction associated with RB. Did he ever owe tax on money brought into the country? He just a poor guy on disability, right? Does owe any taxes on inheritance, proceeds from coins business, bringing funds into Australia? I’ll bet Diane’s his “fence” selling the jewelry and odd bits on eBay or similar would reveal some interesting sales… she could be the woman at the optometrist and bank … maybe the blond hair/wig was part of her typical disguise.

I don't believe anyone such as RB has capacity to truly love or value anyone including wife and kids but he seems to have settled down and played at being a family man. I'm sure they'd have a lot to say about that if they could.

However, it's certainly a well known fact that all sorts of criminal and narcissistic or sociopathic people enjoy having a relationship that makes them look normal. Also if they can find the sort of woman who is a bit of a soft touch and keeps a nice home and 'mothers' them, cooking, cleaning, keeping everything in order, they value that as the stability launch pad from which to go out into the world and do their covert things. Also this type of relationship buys into old fashioned sexist / stereotypical roles and many women themselves are very happy to participate as it's how they were brought up and how they are at ease to perform in the world. They often treat their husband like a giant additional child and have no problem with that.

Update on the “woman in the wall”

The woman has been identified as Tanya Lee Glover, 01/08/1971, with enquiries indicating she moved to Queensland from New South Wales in 2006 and resided in the Fortitude Valley area until 2010.

Further inquiries indicate that Ms Glover was vision and hearing impaired and would have been approximately 38 years old at the time of her death, which continues to be treated as an ongoing homicide investigation.

How sad! I'm glad they found out who she was. On goes the search for Marion.

I just read this news online. Very sad to read that there had not been a missing persons report made for her in addition to her parents not being aware that she was missing :(
RIP Tanya Lee Glover.

Copied from MPMB Facebook post from 20 hrs ago:

“Our submissions are due in today…
There are two more submissions due
> next 4th September
> last 18th September
> we will then get a date for the coroners findings.
This will be held at Lidcombe court, Sydney
It would be great if we could fill the courtroom with as many supporters as possible. That’s important to show everyone involved that the missing matter, my mum matters.
I’ll confirm the date as soon as we are told.
Sal”

What does it mean when there's 3 dates for submissions to be handed in? Does that mean a lot more evidence or different stages of evidence that need to be submitted separately?

I was wondering the same. Hoping they remain televised.

I think it relates to different parties each being able to have their say. My understanding is Counsel assisting delivers their submissions, then Sally's team and other's have a date by which their submissions are due. These will include their responses to the Counsel assisting's submissions. Then the counsel assisting has an opportunity to deliver further submissions in response to Sally and others. I think Joni said Sally has two dates this time, so she may have a further opportunity to reply. JMO

Couldn't help myself with this reply. Perhaps she was able to create a whole MUSICAL in his blue T#@t%#als, not just a song! ;)

Thank you for the explanation! That makes sense!

Today on MB FB Page -

"...Saturday 23rd August 1997. We are now in the thick of daily cash withdrawals, both in Byron Bay in NSW & a few days in Burleigh Heads in QLD. By now Marion's RACQ policy has been cancelled, her medicare card has been used in Grafton and Ric Blum has purchased another used car from the dealers across the highway from his home.
There is a lot of differing points of view in this part of the timeline, so perhaps not specifically commenting or asking questions on this topic trying to work it all out would be a good idea - as there are simply NO clear answers in all the documentation Sal & I have seen, including in the official Brief of Evidence (BOE). Another regretful situation that could have easily been avoided had NSW Police done their job properly back in 1997 or even in the proceeding seven years.
Here is an old VHS video from 1997 in Burleigh Heads, so you get a feel for the time back then when this money was coming out of her bank there right there ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdvRUwGuAgw
Not long until the next round of submissions ! Joni ""

AS MOST OF US KNOW, the QLD and NSW Police back then were a joke and to some extent still are. Appalling procedures and slap dash methods of documenting a family's concern for their loved ones.

Between them and the appalling bank procedures and lies to SL, this crime needs to be the turning tide for missing persons cases all over Australia going forward.

Meanwhile the steel door is still firming closed in regard to AH wife and adult children.

Pathetic family.

Even knowing the facts now, that their husband and father is responsible for decades of swindling innocent women, all of whom are mothers themselves ( as far as we know so far), they listened to AH lies at the inquest numerous times and the podcasts, including that their father gave them their 'inheritance' ...........(AFTER Marion went missing)

The adult children were given money by the father – “their inheritance” - $30 000 each – they were teenagers – around 1998 / 1999

Just after $80 000 comes out of Marions account in 1997 ...

Maite used it for deposit for unit in Shaws Bay Ballina

What David did do with his?

Victims money used by the kids to purchase properties - that is called fraud

DIANE SAYS - " MARIA LEFT SOME TO THE CHILDREN, SHARES, BUT NEVER RECEIVED THEM. NOTHING WAS LEFT TO RIC".
But Maria died in 1990 so that was years before Maite bought her Unit - can't be that 'inheritance'

Dianes parents died a year and half apart - and the father died January1987 and her mother died Sept 1988 - so can't be any inheritance from them to the kids. BTW are police looking into their deaths?? Lots of mis information on his death cert and hers! Certainly needs investigating those!

I would say that the 'inheritance' they received from their thieving father was the inheritance someone COMPLETELY unrelated to them was suppose to get!

MB left her breadcrumbs all along the paths that he forged and slowly but surely this piece of excrement is going to be fully exposed for the criminal he is.

Marion Barter - 22 / 06 / 1997 - never seen again.

All excellent points @mishy66! I think that a thorough financial audit needs to be done into the bank accounts and investments of the entire family. Can you even imagine what they would find!
