Could you imagine it from the inside?

If I was inside when that all happened, I'd need a Valium as big as a doughnut afterwards.

This may sound really stupid but over the next few days I will be purchasing much Lindt chocolate to tuck in with everyones gifts this year.

Off to buy Lindt chocolate to give with a Merry Christmas hug.

Now the political blame game will begin

Indeed, and even worse, we'll hear about all the things that those dear, brave police did wrong. It's almost like a cookie-cutter, pathetic media, story-making pattern.

However, later in 2008, Monis/Boroujerdi's activities drew the attention of real Shia'a religious leaders in Australia who asked Australian security agents to investigate him. In an Australian article titled, "Call to probe mystery Shia cleric," it was reported that:

FEDERAL agents have been urged by the nation's senior Shia leader, Kamal Mousselmani, to investigate an Iranian man purporting to be a prominent Islamic cleric.

Sheik Mousselmani told The Australian yesterday the mystery cleric - who has been identified as Ayatollah Manteghi Boroujerdi on his website after appearing under the name Sheik Haron - was not a genuine Shia spiritual leader.

He said there were no ayatollahs - supreme Shia scholars - in Australia and none of his fellow spiritual leaders knew who Ayatollah Boroujerdi or Sheik Haron was.

"We don't know him and we have got nothing to do with him," Sheik Mousselmani said. "The federal police should investigate who he is. It should be their responsibility."

The site is very critical of Australia. But lots of info on Haron.

THank you for this.

Wonder if he chose a chocolate store thinking it would be filled with females? imo.

"He was identified as Man Haron Monis, an Iranian refugee and self-styled sheikh facing multiple charges of sexual assault."

At this stage I think he chose the cafe due to it's location and busy. It has crossed my mind given his sexual assault history........I pray the female hostages did not suffer any additional horrors.

Just reported on CNN. Many acts of human kindness. Words not verbatim. Muslim woman is riding the train. Reports of this horror. She removes her head wear and exits the train. Another woman follows her and tells her to put it back on and "I will walk with you" Off to find the tissue. Sobbing here.

So sad to hear of loss of life :(
And this guy is given asylum in Australia? And this is his repayment ? His gratitude? He thought asylum meant you can kill your wife and no one cares?
Sickening !

Oh no. I was so hoping when I woke up, and read all this it ended peacefully. :(
