Little Mason's case would have to be one of the worst cases I have ever seen...The poor little fellow didn't stand a chance...There are so many couples who cannot have children of their own & because of our "adoption laws" here, many of our couples have to adopt children from overseas.
The sooner the Australian Government change legislation, little people like Mason could have been adopted by a caring & loving family...DISGUSTING!
This pair should face a Firing Squad for what they have done, along with The Thorburns who murdered Tialeigh Palmer...They are the scum of the earth...MOO

I've been reading a lot lately of UK adoption laws. Parents are found both incapable to raise a child and their rights are terminated as parents. This is a long process and I think our little man didn't stand a chance at this home, parents, careers weren't questioned or mother either I guess. People like these keep their secrets and that is how evil pervades. Especially before they are in school and can't tell a trusted person. Who could Mason talk too... The answer to this question is for the authorities to determine and spear head a campaign for little tots. moo

Teen accused of toddler Mason Lee's manslaughter wins bail bid

http://beta.9news.com.au/national/2017/06/26/03/32/fresh-bail-bid-for-teen-in-mason-lee-case

A successful bail bid in the Brisbane Supreme Court today heard it was now also alleged the 18-year-old may have been there when a significant blow was dealt to the young boy.

<snip>

But the court also heard there was "no direct evidence" pointing to who was responsible for the critical blow to Mason's abdomen, or when the injury occurred.

Nevertheless, crown prosecutor Vicky Loury maintained there was a "compelling" case against Hodson, including CCTV footage demonstrating he was alone with Mason on the day he died

"We do have evidence of this man threatening to injure the child," Ms Loury added.

Mason Jet Lee's mother screams 'you killed my son' from Brisbane court dock
ABC News
BY ISOBEL ROE
UPDATED 53 MINUTES AGO (as at 18:50 AEDT 27 November 2017)

‘The mother of toddler Mason Jet Lee has interrupted court proceedings, screaming "you killed my son", where she and two others are facing manslaughter charges.

After hearing evidence about the injuries her son was found with when he died, Ann Marie Louise Lee got up from the dock and lunged towards her partner asking "what did you do to my son? You killed my son", before being restrained by court security and told by the magistrate to keep quiet.

It is the first in a two-day committal hearing to determine whether she, her former partner William Andrew O'Sullivan, and 18-year-old Ryan Robert Barry Hodson, should stand trial for the manslaughter of the 21-month-old boy.’

Mason Jet Lee: Mother and two men to stand trial over Caboolture toddler's death

Mason's mother Anne Maree Louise Lee, her former partner William Andrew O'Sullivan and his housemate 18-year-old Ryan Robert Barry Hodson have not entered a plea and said nothing as they were committed.

Mr O'Sullivan and Ms Lee are also charged with failing to provide proper medical treatment for the boy between December 23, 2015 and February 13, 2016.
...
The committal hearing in the Magistrate Court in Brisbane today heard the boy could have quite easily been saved had he been taken to hospital.
...
The court heard Mason was vomiting bile up to five days before his death.

Professor Kimble told the court the boy's carers should have known he was sick.

"You should know that there's something very wrong with this child — the child would not have been able to eat or drink after this [rupture]," he said.

I've been following but not posting on Mason's case. It's heartbreaking reading how the three adults treated him, spoke to him, threatened him and let him die alone, in agonizing pain. And the Low woman making excuses for why she didn't pick up the frikkin' phone and call for help.

As for the mother screaming at O'Sullivan in court... I can't wait to hear her questioned about the prior year.

Anyway, thanks everyone for keeping us updated! :loveyou:

Charges dropped against teenager Ryan Hodson over death of toddler Mason Jet Lee - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

‘Ryan Robert Barry Hodson, 18, was expected to plead guilty to one count of cruelty to a child in the Queensland Supreme Court in Brisbane, after previously being committed to stand trial for manslaughter.

But Justice David Jackson said he was concerned pursuing the charge against Mr Hodson would set a "potentially dangerous precedent" for other teenagers or siblings living in a home with a child who was harmed.

[...]

The toddler's mother Anne Maree Louise Lee and her former partner William Andrew O'Sullivan are both yet to stand trial for manslaughter.’

Poor Mason, hard to believe anyone could see him and not take action but Hodson is likely a victim of abuse himself, why was he living with O'Sullivan in the first place.

Mason Lee's stepfather to be sentenced

‘The stepfather of Queensland toddler Mason Lee is expected to plead guilty to manslaughter over his death.

William Andrew O'Sullivan is also due to plead guilty to cruelty to a child under 16 years old at a sentence hearing listed in August at Brisbane Supreme Court.’

‘During a review of his matter at Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday, O'Sullivan didn't appear and no plea was entered, but his sentencing was listed for August 28.

[Mason’s mother, Anne Maree] Lee is currently awaiting a trial.’

Sentence to be appealed.
'Lenient' jail sentence for man who killed Queensland toddler to be appealed

Lawyers for Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath will argue the sentence was "manifestly inadequate".
. . .
Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington has been petitioning the Government to appeal the sentence since it was handed down last week, calling it "unbelievable".
. . .
Former shadow child safety minister Ros Bates said earlier last week the public agreed the sentence was "lenient".

Ms Bates said she will now be writing to the Attorney-General to request a full coronial inquest into the actions of Government departments which handled the little boy's case including Child Safety and Queensland Health.
