Looking at those pics Dr S kindly provided, quite the gentleman Anthony is isn't he?
The lady behind struggling to carry that enormous vase of red roses while he carries his keys.

Entitled....IMO the ugliest personal attribute one can have.

moo
I’m not a fan of AK’s either, but to be fair that lady might be someone from the funeral home/ceremony service staff just doing her job, who might not want to give the vase out of her hand, completing her task.

If that’s a family member or friend, I agree with your assessment.

Is the lady carrying the roses the same one from the background of the press conference??

That's how the lady looks to me. I wondered too, and this might be silly, but whether the vase was also an urn, with the ashes of Melissa's foot sealed in the lower part.

yes I agree it quite possibly is a service staff person.
Although not stated, I assumed this the possibility in making my post.

The lady carrying the flowers is the funeral director per the Tele article

At the completion of the service Mr Koletti walked out alongside a funeral director.

She then accompanied him to his black Mercedes and helped to fit a large bouquet of red flowers into the car.

‘His black Mercedes’

So he gets to keep a nice car?

Of course. I would like to know how long he gets to keep it though. Whose car is it? Is it going to be sold when he finally is made to leave the multi million dollar house? Or did he somehow come up with enough cash to buy or lease it?

One would think it would be sold along with everything of value that was purchased with investors funds.
They would have to untangle all of that I guess but the Audi disappeared quickly

There is a story here about a defrauded couple who joined in a class action suit against liable entities.

When the suit was finalised (for $12 million) the fees for the administration and litigation came to $11.75 million. A judge overruled the exorbitant fees, but even so the result still allowed the fees to be $8 million.

Everybody takes a big bite of the cake.

Caddick case shows ‘nothing has changed’
Adding to the nightmare for the investors in the case mentioned above (from a link posted by @Itsinsane in an earlier thread, BBM):

"... not all victims who signed up to the lawsuit are eligible for a share of the payout.
While the fraudulent transactions happened over a nine-year period, the statute of limitations restricts a claim to the past six years only.
By the time the facts were determined and a legal case formed, only two years of fraudulent transactions were eligible for inclusion
which means of the 380 victims, the settlement will only be paid to 53 of them.
'The law has been upheld but there has been absolutely no justice,' said [one of the investors] Mr Jeffares."

Guys he literally just walked out of his wife’s funeral...

I agree that he’s lost weight. Not surprising tbh.

Im surprised the son is still living there the majority of the time though. Maybe him and AK are moral support for each other. It also looks like Anthony Caddick may have been at the funeral with his wife? Would love to know what he’s thinking about the whole thing...

I was under the impression that it’s in MC’s name, & the budget in the affidavit indicated that, however I do remember seeing a photo of AK excited in the drivers seat of the Merc on the day they bought the car in the dealership.

I imagine he’ll be giving the car back when he next hearing actually goes ahead.

Some further info re the actual figures, and the hearing has been pushed back to June ...
<RSBM>According to the report to investors, before she went missing in November 2020 that year Ms Caddick raked in $5.4 million from clients who thought they were investing in shares. In 2019 she took $4.13 million but her most successful year was 2015 when she reeled in $6.279 million.
Melissa Caddick victims may have case against accountants: liquidators (smh.com.au)
From the article (I've rounded the figures), this is how much money Melissa received from investors over three specific years:
2015: $6.3 million
2019: $4.1 million
2020: $5.4 million (but $2.5m of this, nearly half, would have been from just one investor, the Aspen-skiing private-school mum, who removed it all only months later)

My guess is that this says Melissa was in trouble long before the ASIC raid. Wouldn't she have needed to increase the total money she took in from new investors every year just to keep up with payments out to older investors? Clearly the total wasn't increasing if her biggest year was back in 2015.

Like a gambling addict she couldn’t stop herself from binging on luxury goods. Living well beyond her means..

Apparently her biggest spending occurred between 2018-2020

That's one possibility, sure, some sort of gambling-type addiction, maybe trying to "invest" her way out of trouble? And no question she was living beyond her means :)

I just wonder if the business had started to fail - maybe because she was overspending, or maybe because she couldn't bring in enough new investors, or both.

I was being a bit sarcastic & I don’t really think she has a gambling problem as much as a spending problem & potentially mental health issues.

IMO she thought she was invincible until August 2020.

I think we should consider that a teenage boy's room is his refuge - to the extent that some barely emerge for years!

Doritos, duckies and disembodied feet: revealing the ocean's hidden highways

The fickle sea

Ocean currents are unpredictable. When someone falls into the water, by accident or otherwise, it can be hard to predict where the current will take them.

This is illustrated by an experiment which, by coincidence, we conducted along the same stretch of coast around the time Caddick is thought to have entered the water. Our research group deployed several satellite-tracked floating buoys, or drifters, off Port Stephens, about 150km north of Sydney. We wanted to study the effects of currents, wind and waves on objects drifting on the ocean surface.

On November 10 – the day before Caddick was last seen alive – we deployed two biodegradable drifters about 40km offshore. We released a third drifter on December 2, in the same patch of ocean.

Whilst the financial reporting based on what is available has been exceptional on this thread (thank you) so so many questions remain. Questions that simply must have answers. Are those answers being withheld or are they unknown? Questions like, where is the rest of the money? What are the odds of her foot washing up on that particular beach. What are the chances of the foot being found?
It’s questions like these, with incomprehensible odds that make the whole suicide thing seem so illogical. let’s hope it all comes out in the fullness of time

Re the foot, I'm still not convinced it really means anything.
