When one's estate, so to speak, is put 'In the Receiver's Hands'... it's already a lost cause. It's only a matter of cleaning up the residue, and in Melissa's case, not much of that residue is available, in reality.. On paper, there is lots, but to turn that into actual dollars in someone's account is a very long and not very often happy journey.
In this action of Melissa's I understand there are quite a few warring factions, and that means, in these kinds of cases , war until death of the other is achieved. There is no other ending. There are those that joined up in a class action, there are those that are a family group, there are solo claimants, all vying , warring, scrabbling for the same dollar.
Then , there is Melissa's family group, at war with every single claimant, every class action claimant, every Govt Org Claimant..
( I don't know who the Grimley's lawyer is, .. how they'll find the $$$ to pay him , a mystery, I doubt if any one would take this on on a win only fee basis.. )
Then there is the ATO ( Au Tax Office ) .. They'll be taxing every cent Melissa ever acquired and then they'll be taxing the recipients of any residue of the estate.. These are the quiet boys in dark suits sitting up the back of the court. No body is walking out of that court without an ATO officer on their case.
