Thanks, Trooper, yes, I get the gist of what could have been her sentence, she was carrying on with this scheme from about 2012 I think so maybe 7 years. I guess the humiliation was just too much, esp that close family & friends were involved.

Anger. "See what you made me do." "Now they'll never get their money back." "You (ASIC) will pay for this."

Fraudster Melissa Caddick’s family ordered to finalise property claims

The Federal Court has given missing fraudster Melissa Caddick’s family six weeks to stake their claims over the various properties she allegedly purchased with stolen funds, after they pushed back on liquidators selling the homes to compensate her victims.

Justice Brigitte Markovic told the swindler’s parents, brother and husband that they needed to outline to the court and receivers why they had rights over Ms Caddick’s $6.3 million Dover Heights mansion and $2.5 million Edgecliff penthouse, or risk their sale.

snip

Justice Markovic ruled that if he again failed to “articulate” his interest in the Dover Heights house, this time by March 17, then the receivers could seek “vacant possession and delivery of the ... property for sale”.

If they didn't have the paperwork last year, they sure as hell haven't got it this year.. without that paper... it's sound and fury, signifying nothing.. Anthony can sing for the court, the brother can cry for the court, and mum and dad can glare at the court.. no paper, no property.

It is very bad luck. But it is what it is. Good times come and go.

Anthony seems to be doing it the hardest, though, it has completely turned his mind, never the sharpest knife in the drawer , to gooey mush.

The nearly-17-year-old "young child" will likely soon be supporting AK!

Those poor investors. It's taken me a long time to come to sympathy for them, but they really have had the rawest of deals, and sure, they went into it trying to beat the odds, and if you gamble you have to cop the loss when it comes, but this is excruciating , in any one's view.

There they all sit, on the investors money, great address, that fabulous harbour view for Anthony and the dogs, and the 'young child.. '... the convenience of the Edgecliff apartment for the oldies and the bro. A short ferry into Circular Quay, ... all the silliness of Double Bay to strut around in, off to Watson's Bay for an aperitif... the glossy harbour a backdrop to these unearned and undeserved pleasures.

While the investors struggle with the ATO, the Council, the Bank, the local solicitor, the barrister, the time off work to attend court, interviews, interrogations....

Anthony, a sad case. Dragged, not unwillingly, out of Campbelltown, propped up on Dover Heights, only had to be a willing handbag, no impediment to his musical aspirations... all ripped away from underneath them.

And for the investors.. once it's all sold, all totted up, and everyone with a legal claim, the nice young men of the ATO , ( and lawyers come off the cream at the top ) all the debts, all the little argumentative assertions.. everyone of those investors will be lucky to get back 4 cents in the dollar. Really lucky.

And after maybe 7 years, would Anthony still have been waiting for Melissa, do you think?

Don't forget the oldies get their own lawyers too - but they are pro bono!

Do most of you think that they are going to conclude that MC suicided? I am still open to the idea that someone else took her life. The Dover Heights house or their cars do not seem to have ever been forensically examined as they probably could not get a warrant. Is AK trying to hang onto the house because of this? I am also curious about what they might find on AK's computer that they have in their possession now.

Underbelly: Vanishing Act: trailer
First look at full trailer of Nine's upcoming Melissa Caddick miniseries. March 7, 2022

"I DON'T BUY SHARES, I BUY SHOES!"

Nine has released a trailer for Underbelly: Vanishing Act, a dramatisation of the Melissa Caddick saga starring Kate Atkinson (Wentworth, Jack Irish, SeaChange).

The cast also includes Colin Friels (Water Rats, BlackJack, Mystery Road), Tai Hara (Madam Secretary, Home and Away, Hyde & Seek), Maya Stange (Love Child, A Place to Call Home, Wolf Creek, Rake), Ursula Mills (Out of the Blue), and Sophie Bloom (Love Child, Amazing Grace, Reef Break).

This is a two part miniseries, expected in coming weeks.

Underbelly returns to Channel 9 in 2022, based on the real-life mystery that captivated the nation. Underbelly: Vanishing Act tells the story of the bizarre disappearance of Melissa Caddick, the high-roller who allegedly embezzled over $40 million before vanishing into thin air. It’s a mystery that has left Caddick’s family, clients and the police questioning everything they thought they knew about her.

This song has some interesting lyrics.

If this is typical of Koletti's musical output, then he needs to go back to the scissors and blow drier.

I can’t believe that in nearly 15 months AK hasn’t done anything to prepare for his future that he knew was coming!

Doesn't surprise me. The guy is still in denial. Even his father has said that he's stupid.

"ASIC then hinder both a police investigation and a coronial enquiry by removing proof of her disappearance.”

What 'proof of her disappearance' is this fool AK on about? If he's referring to the CCTV recorder being taken, then that was done by the AFP, not ASIC.

I have always seen him as a hairdresser and assumed he would not make much money from his activities at home as they seem more like hobbies to me.

Koletti was a kept man for years. He's a fantasy producer and if his hairdressing talent is no better than his musical talent, then he's in big trouble. Centrelink here he comes.
