The thing I find interesting is that the police want any video/info from midnight till midday. 12am - 12pm.
Especially from 5am to 7am.
Yes agree… I have wondered if one side of the street had the bins collected early in the morning, and the other side of the street was collected later in the morning??? because of the route that is taken by the truck??

During the last few days I have also wondered if the bin was placed on the other side of the street purposely, to ensure it was picked up early??? Depending on what side of MV Street was collected first??

I think there must be some kind of proof of life up until midnight.
I think there is proof of life until 11pm on the 27th in an early article .. assuming this is known by technological data ??? Like lap top or phone ??

And I was wondering about the "till 12pm". Perhaps they think a perp might have been checking periodically to make sure the bin was emptied, that no-one had discovered Lesley after she was placed in the bin,
Yes quite possible, although I would imagine they would have had to do this inconspicuously??? possibly from a window?? And then distract if someone was approaching the bin in question….??

If there was someone watching over a bin overtly that morning, (like hovering over the bins, that was out of character) I think we would have a POI by now ??

Great discussion points!

IMO

Another point! No mention of any noise as a person was being killed. We had a murder in our street 10 years ago and the mother let out a scream that carried for miles and we all rushed out with weapons in hand. Was this a super silent murder! no-one goes down without a fight! the usually scream the house down!

While there is no mention of any loud noise, I think it is possible that there was noise. It just might be one of the things that they are not revealing.

They might perhaps have a report ... "I heard some yelling, but I thought it was just kids again". Maybe the yelling (if there was yelling) was heard around 5am?

If the incident happened late at night, body placed in bin and then put out for collection early the following morning - possibly the bin would be quite heavy to push around. MOO

Massingham earlier said forensic samples — reportedly including blood — were taken from Trotter’s unit complex and a neighbouring unit complex.
Yes that's it, Thanks @SLouTh.

If the death (most likely murder) occurred downstairs at LT’s unit … or at garage area or near the lane ….

There is path out to Maryvale Street via the garages at number 52….

See the downstairs door to unit / garage access on the lower level in this image from google ..

And you can just see the path here….. (obstructed by power pole) also from google ..

A cement path would make it much easier to wheel out to the curb …

And Police have said they believe her death occurred close to her unit….

We believe her death occurred close to her unit block on Maryvale Street, Toowong, and we currently have two crime scenes set up in that area."

Two crime scenes.

Maybe the bin was wheeled to where Lesley was left for dead (out of sight), she was placed in the bin, then it was wheeled back to wherever it didn't seem out of place?

I had thought earlier that they might not have wanted to put Lesley in the bin while it was in full view.

Was her unit on the ground floor? - I just assumed higher level - but maybe if it was lower level - easier for someone to hide in shrubbery and watch movements of person inside. MOO

A case, still unsolved from years ago, was about an elderly Sydney woman, Katherine Schweitzer, found in a bin.
I quite often wonder if they'll ever find out who did it.

She was found in an upright position with her head at the top of the bin.

A Sydney coronial inquest into the murder of a holocaust survivor has found that a group of witnesses gave untruthful evidence.

The body of Katherine Schweitzer was dumped in a bin in the stairwell of her Bellevue Hill apartment in Sydney's east in December 2006.

Two belts were wrapped around her neck and her wrists were bound.

Mrs Schweitzer's body was discovered by a group of residents living in the building, including two illegal immigrants who had been employed as carers.

The inquest heard the pair removed their fingerprints from the bin because they were fearful of being deported.

In handing down her findings state coroner Mary Jerram said this meant the police were deceived and misled at a critical time of the investigation.

She said the two immigrants and their employer participated in an agreement to deceive police.

The coroner said traces of the perpetrator were obliterated as a result.

The case has been referred to the unsolved homicide unit.

,
Yes top level., and all of the garages on the lower level …

And her Garage (No. 5) is 4th from the left ..

Any idea on how tightly the rubbish is compressed before it goes to the landfill, is it like when they crush cars?
I assume it would have to be pretty tight, or it would be a waste of time.

If the tenants normally put bins out onto Clayton Lane at the back of the block. That cement path down the side of the units would really facilitate the bin being wheeled out onto Maryvale Street so maybe a swap of bins so it would be guaranteed to be collected. MOO

So, the search won't really start until 'later this week'. They are still doing the planning, and preliminary ground work will start in the coming days, as per your linked article (and as per a QPS spokesperson).

If you google "When garbage trucks compact the trash inside them, do containers in the trash break?" on Quora, it gives an educated answer. I just can't write it here ... it breaks my heart. :(

In Brisbane there’s a lot of household waste and not a lot of space. One could assume it would be compressed quite tight. If this poor woman was placed in a bin that was taken away, they may find DNA in garbage truck that took the bin away but likely not the waste facility.

Wishing law enforcement all the best with this. I can see them putting a reward on this case to get people to talk, otherwise they may never know what happened.

All imo.

Exactly. They’re still in the planning phase according to this Courier Mail article
