The perp doesn't necessarily have to be a very strong person.

It's amazing the amount of strength you can summon up if it's really really urgent, even more so if your life as you know it depends on it.

Ie not wanting to get caught and end up in prison may be a good incentive to go that bit beyond what strength you thought you had in shifting the body away from you.

Katarine Carroll is the Queensland Police Service Commissioner.

I don't know how nobody in the news service picked up that they got it wrong before publishing it.

I don’t know either. Their proof reading isn’t great.

The rubbish was pressed in a massive compactor into huge blocks and freighted to landfill sites at Swanbank near Ipswich and Rochedale in Brisbane's south.

A major police investigation is underway and bins at an apartment complex have been seized after a missing elderly woman was declared dead.

It all looks so neat and tidy ….
The photo below appeared in this article on 7 April. You can see what looks like police crime scene tape tied to the top of the grey wooden railing that runs along the walkway for the two top floor units. There also appears to be an orange thing, not a witches hat but similar, that has been placed there to mark the spot or to stop people walking by. These are just my own observations. Could something have happened here?

I'm not sure where I read this, maybe it was here ?

Where a drug supplier used to exchange drugs or money by putting them in a bin and putting the bin out.
In the early hours before the bin was emptied, the exchange took place.

I can't recall if they got caught out when the bin actually got emptied early or what.

Anyway someone earlier said, what if Lesley saw something in a bin that she wasn't supposed to see :(

Maybe someone kept an eye on the bin, they might have even had some kind of gadget to alert them if anyone touched the bin.

Yes I noticed that too … Police have said that LT’s unit had been made into a crime scene … so there must be some reason for that …

We believe her death occurred close to her unit block in Merivale St, Toowong and we currently have two crime scenes currently set up in that area.

One of those crime scenes is at her unit and the other one is at a location nearby out the front of the unit complex.”

Could at her unit mean out on that verandah?? Rather than inside???

Of course we don’t know the answer to that as yet …. But worth considering…

They have the name badly wrong in this article…
Queensland's police commissioner Katarina Carroll has held back tears as she addressed media in the wake of the "tragic" execution-style ambush that resulted in the death of two young police officers.
-.-.-
Four officers had attended the property at around 4.40pm on Monday to investigate a missing persons case when they were shot at close range by armed men wearing camouflage.

"In my opinion those two officers did not stand a chance. The fact that two got out alive is a miracle."

Interesting, that the name-mix-up concerned another missing person case .....

There was also this too in a very early article ….on April 7….

He said two separate crime scenes had been established in and outside Ms Trotter’s unit complex on Maryvale St in Toowong.

If the incident happened late at night, body placed in bin and then put out for collection early the following morning - possibly the bin would be quite heavy to push around. MOO

Question from the other side of the planet ... Do you have to pay for general waste? Is there a way to indicate that you want the bins emptied, or do they get emptied routinely, whether filled or not? Do they get emptied right where they are stored all week, or do you have to take them to the curb side?

Only asking 'cause in these parts, people in some cities have to pay for general waste, but recycling and green waste is free. So I can see that someone would try to dump their general waste into the recycling, or into someone else's general waste.

It’s included in the Council Rates that are paid 6 monthly … and every bin is collected as per the schedule … no extra payments …

Edit to add .. if someone’s bin is at capacity they may look to other people’s bin for some extra space … usually after they have been put on the kerb..

Thank you, one more question ... how do the bins get to the kerb? Does everyone wheel out their own bins? Who carts out the recycling? I'm wondering because it seems to me that on pick up day, there will be folks scurrying out to manage their last minute garbage before the truck comes to pick it up. It makes me think there could be witnesses to the crime.

In my state of New South Wales we pay our rates quarterly, though you can pay the whole years lot in one go if you want.
The bin emptying service is included in our rate payment. No extra fees.

We have three bins, a general waste bin. A green waste bin, which are emptied weekly, and a recycle bin which is emptied fortnightly.

You can get an extra bin added to your service, for a fee.

Every one takes their own bin out ..

Usually the night before …. As the bins have to be ready so early in the morning for collection … unless you are a very early riser…

The green bins are for rubbish and the yellow lid bins are for recycling ..

Ask anything … no problems …

You put them out on the kerb and I found out years ago that they won't empty them if the bin is facing the wrong way.
