I'm curious if anyone knows the answer. Neighbours have said in interviews that people would leave things out for LT. What kind of things would they be leaving out by the bins for her? Wouldn't in be easier for them just to put their own things in the right bin etc? I just don't understand this, so maybe I'm missing what it is they were actually leaving out for her.

With Lesley having blonde/greying/light hair, could it be a possibility that with the footage caught from the garbage truck they could see if there was blood on her, esp her head? Maybe they could even see if there were injuries to her head that might not have been possible from a fall either into a bin or her body going into the truck? (Esp if she went in to the truck feet first)

Pretty horrible thought but I saw a few pics of what the vision is like inside a garbage truck (maybe from southAussie? I apologise if wrong). Maybe they could enhance the vision somehow and get a clear look at lesleys body?

edit to add- maybe she was concealed somehow as well. Possibly had something wrapped around her body, or could have had something like a bag over her head etc? Something that could have maybe unconcealed after going into the truck?

Yes, I think it is possible they could see injuries from prior to Lesley being put in the bin.

Two things that I have noticed that DS Manningham has said is that police would not comment on injuries to Lesley, and they could not comment on any bank account activity.

"Massingham would not comment on Trotter’s injuries"

"When asked whether there had been attempts to access Trotter’s bank accounts, Massingham said he could not comment."

Not commenting on the bank account details is quite interesting. In my experience if the bank accounts aren’t touched then that fact is stated pretty early on. Esp with missing persons cases. Now LE seem to know pretty sure where lesley is because of the garbage truck footage etc.

For me if there was nothing untoward about her bank account/s and if there wasn’t anything about them that could influence their case I would have expected them to simply say something about her bank account/s not being accessed in any way. It certainly raises a few flags for me.

RSBM

“The waste will be exhumed from the ground. It will then be tipped into lanes approximately 30 centimetres deep, at which time our police and ADF personnel will sift through by hand and using rakes.

WAToday has photos of the more manageable lanes of rubbish that they are sorting through. We can see also see trucks and equipment digging out those portions of rubbish to lay in lanes.

One thing that seems to stand out is the colours of objects. Hopefully Lesley was wearing colours that morning that might stand out.

I believe they are referring to the 10c refundable bottles but don’t quote me.

Not sure about all unit complexes however when I previously lived in a complex there has been a person who is paid by the strata to come each week and put all the relevant bins out the night before pick up. The person in our case was the cleaner/garden maint person. They arrived late Sunday put all the bins out on the street for collection for the early MON morning. I wonder if this complex had the same arrangement. Could she have been out messing with the bins at the time such a person turned up to take the bins out on the street..........?
I can reply to this after verification...

Thank you, that makes a bit more sense now

I think they meant they left things in the bin, but on top of the other things so Lesley could easily access them.
I think I remember this neighbours words were so Lesley could easily access them from the bin.

Yes I think there is definite answers in his comments that point to someone else being involved.

1. Yes not commenting on her injuries or bank account details

2. Due to the positioning of the body

3. The amount of police used to door knock the area - I appreciate that the whole area seems like rows and rows of units. I am guessing that is a lot of people to talk to in comparison to a regular street with mainly houses.

I am wondering if she may have taken some money out of her bank account previous day and that is not accounted for.

Maybe there is head injuries that would not be sustained from just falling into a bin.

Also wondering why QPS Update 4 was retracted - doesn't seem to have anything really revealing in the information. MOO

I wonder if they did get any dashcam footage.

Or if whoever did this, posted pics or a video online

Who knows, maybe someone did see her in the bin or on the ground but was too afraid to report it due to their resident status, as in a murder case I posted about back a few pages.

Maybe they told someone who told the police what they said they'd seen.

I think the public most likely hasn't been told everything they know.

Interesting that DS Massingham speaks of 2 sets of clothing…

One set she was wearing the last time she was seen the day she went missing..

One set that she was seen in wearing in the bin….

In the video after approx 2:30..

Dreadful thought …. And God Forbid,
Is it possible she was naked in the bin??? And they are not only looking for her body, but also the clothes she was previously wearing??? (I take it to mean that the first set of clothes hasn’t been accounted for, or found by Police to date..and they are desperate to find them for possible DNA etc)

All MOO

I don't think they mean that there were two sets of clothes.
At least that's not what I get from listening to the wording.

It’s the “and” … I did read somewhere late last night that Police gave searchers 2 sets of photographs …

But you could be correct.. as this is what DS Massingham actually says ..

We have distributed to the team today photographs of the clothing that Ms Trotter was last seen wearing and indeed the clothes we believe she was wearing when seen in that general waste bin outside her unit complex.

Jim Whitehead - a retired Queensland Police search and rescue coordinator - told Sky News Australia on Wednesday it will be a "very labour-intensive process".

"As the footage shows, it is a slow process. Every bit of rubbish has to be sifted through by hand, there is no real mechanical means to be able to do it," he told Peter Stefanovic.

However, he believed police would be helped by the fact that most major waste facilities in the country had detailed records of where trucks dumped the rubbish.

"So, if the police can identify the rough location of where the body was disposed then its possible to narrow down the section of the dump," Mr Whitehead added.

"Police and SES would rake through all the rubbish looking for identifiable pieces and then there would be specialist, scientific police officers that would look at those items."

"As you can imagine, some rubbish is compacted fairly decently, and everything joins into another so it all looks pretty the same," he said on First Edition.

"So, it is a very incredibly difficult task to do that. Searchers have to be very vigilant in identifying anything that may be relevant, even if it doesn’t appear to be initially

Mr Whitehead stressed the human body did not "fall apart all that easily" and expected a "decent portion of remains" to be eventually discovered.

"Whether you can distinguish them from the surrounding rubbish will be another problem that will pose the searchers," he stressed, adding if authorities were in the right spot, he was confident they would find "something".

Why do the reports keep stating police can't rule out her death as suspicious?
Agree totally … The Last Police Update even called her death suspicious..
See below ….

Police update 4: Missing woman, Toowong

The investigation is ongoing in relation to the suspicious death of 78-year-old Toowong woman, Lesley Trotter.
