Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach for it, you're so close to making him a terrorist. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach for it! No evidence of it per intel but go ahead and reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach..

Regardless of his place of birth and immigration status, this man is a ‘terrorist’ in that he’s a violent criminal who terrorised my countrymen and women. He is nothing special and is no longer someone to be feared. He will be jailed/committed (and then deported) just like those who came before him and his name will soon be forgotten as we go about our daily lives.

Flinders Street: Police interview Saeed Noori after release from hospital into custody
ABC News
UPDATED 29 MINUTES AGO (as at 08:00 AEDT 23 December 2018)

‘Police have been interviewing the man alleged to have been the driver of a four-wheel drive that slammed into pedestrians in the heart of Melbourne's CBD on Thursday afternoon.

Saeed Noori is accused of intentionally driving a four-wheel drive into a crowd of pedestrians outside the Flinders Street train station.

Mr Noori, a 32-year-old Australian citizen of Afghan descent, was apprehended by an off-duty police officer shortly after the vehicle he was driving crashed.

Authorities in Melbourne have said they do not believe there is an increased threat to the public, and that Mr Noori had a history of drug use and mental illness.

Police said Mr Noori had made "utterances" during preliminary discussions with investigators, referring to the "mistreatment of Muslims" and "dreams and voices".

However, they say he has no known terrorist [organisation] links.’

Oh I am very aware that he is a violent criminal who terrorized people but there is no connection to organized terrorism (such as ISIS) that a few members are trying desperately to connect him to. He's a mentally ill drug addict with a criminal record who felt anger at society. Just like Robert Dear, just like Dylann Roof, just like so many other "lone wolf" type terrorists with no ties to actual terrorist groups. He just happens to be brown so of course he's ISIS to some people. And tbh, repeatedly trying to connect him to ISIS is a disruption to the thread. All JMO

Today I was stopped at traffic lights where the pedestrians can walk diagonally

I sat watching the many many young and old Christmas shoppers smiling, holding hands and pushing prams.

Then the thoughts of what happened in Melbourne washed over me. No!! I sat kinda stunned thinking how could he do this?
Just how dammit?!?

I trust our cops to find out if he was radicalised, mental illness or just plain hates our Christian Christmas.
We’ll see.

The Lindt siege in Martin Place Sydney.
That thing (I refuse to name) made his hostages hold up the Isis flags but still our ‘powers that be’ called him a lone wolf and suggested he was not linked to any terrorist groups.

Well I’m bloody sorry if I offend here but he made his hostages hold up Isis flags. That’s a freakin’ terrorist group.

He had the flags for a reason - he was connected to Isis, he had the flags - he was a freakin’ terrorist!
I’m sick of our soft c*ck authorities all too frightened to offend.

We’re yet to see about this mongrel in Melbourne.
If he did it for any reason then he’s a terrorist. He placed out beautiful Australians in terror and pain. He sat parked waiting for the right time to drive off at the moment when pedestrians started walking to inflict carnage. PREMEDITATED! Mental illness or not, get him off our streets forever!

Yeah I’m pissed!

He’s a sympathiser to the mistreatment of muslims with a mental illness hearing voices.
Crikey!
Just get him off our streets before he can do more carnage.

Thank goodness for that bollard that stopped him.

Good. Let's hope that he gets 18 consecutive attempted-murder sentences ... and not just some time out in a mental hospital.

On Ch7 TV news, they are showing his angry mother swiping at the journalists outside the court. She also stood up in court and tried to take a photo of her perpetrator-son, and he stood up, too. They were both immediately ordered to sit.
He had no other supporters in court.

His lawyer said they will need a psych evaluation before they can proceed. :sigh:

:sigh: indeed. So tired of mental illness/drug abuse being cited as an excuse for the behaviour of perpetrators of violent crimes.

Me, too!!!!!!!!

I was reading an article today where mentally ill persons are saying the same thing. They manage not to violently harm or kill people. In fact, many of them are victims of violence themselves. They cannot understand why a person is allowed to lean on mental illness as an excuse for their violent acts.

I can. It is because the freakin' courts go easier on them. :gaah:

It is really not much of a reach. I think it is a bigger stretch to try and pretend it is not related to Islamic extremism. He purposely drove into 19 people, just like several recent Jihadi terrorist attacks. Is that a total coincidence?

"When interviewed by police, he “spoke about dreams, he spoke about voices”, the chief inspector said, “but he also did attribute some of his actions to the poor treatment of Muslims”.

“I don’t know the exact detail, to do with Allah and some ramblings about ASIO (the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation), ‘ Mr. Patton added, according to the Herald Sun.

Asked if there were links to terrorism, he said: “That’s certainly one area we’re exploring in respect to motivation.”

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5207749/Saeed-Noori-charged-18-counts-attempted-murder.html

Mr Patton told The Project Noori made utterances about voices, dreams and about why he drove the Suzuki SUV through the busy crowds.

'Others are about that he did this act because of perceived harms committed on Muslims around the world,' he said.
'There's a range of issues there.'

Well, so much for his Muslim faith. True Muslims are opposed to any drug use, except that which is medically prescribed.
Doesn’t bode well for a methed-up, violent Afghan-Aussie who claims to be a Muslim.

Accidents do happen when our elderly and others accelerate rather than brake. The harder they brake the faster the car goes. Horrible. Many men blame the small pedals.
Yeah it does happen unfortunately.

I saw the clip where he sat parked waiting until the pedestrians started walking and then he pulled out and began to accelerate on towards them.

So rotten. Such an evil act.
Lock him up for good and make him take his meds.

He has brought shame on his family .... his mother had her face covered as she approached the court building (see video at link).

Noori's mother, who was in court, tried to approach him in the dock but was asked to step back and sit down.

Noori covered his face with his hand and looked down for the hearing, as prosecutors read details of the incident, indicated more charges are being considered and said the motive remained under investigation.

The cops should’ve hit his face harder. Shows great restraint by our wonderful boyz in blue.
